I decided against my better judgement to not auto-concede when their hero power got upgraded.
I opted to go wide on the board rather than equipping weapon on turn 2 and 3. I lost a Hench-Clan Thug to Shield Slam but got to connect with a Cold Blooded Dire Mole.
After the board got cleared with Reckless Flurry I played Giggling Inventor, they played Stonehill. I Fungalmancered the Giggling and cleared Stonehill with Deadly Poison.
Then, they played Giggling Inventor too.
With 4 unpopped bubbles, my Blood Knight became a 15/15. They armoured up to high heavens but it got to stick and connect to the face once, before getting silenced.
By that point my hand was getting pretty thin, so my turn 9 play was Baku. I had 4 more minions on board but the highest attack was the silenced Blood Knight.
Then Baku survived the Brawl.
And despite all this unbelievable luck, they had armoured up enough to be 2 out of range.
Edit: Why concede in the start of any matchup? even the well known "lost" matchup of CW vs freeze mage was a 90-10 there are no 0% to win matchups, the opponent might get a really bad draw (or be new at the deck and misplay)
That’s really funny. The same thing happened be I got a lucky Fledgling rather than Baku on board . It’s rare that a topdecked Deckhand can win the game lol
Sure, mathematically you are correct, even a 15% chance to win is better than 0%. Practically tho, this one is just demoralising, which affects my winrate as a whole.
Think about this: It is not uncommon for the Warrior to end the game with a health+armour total of more than 30. This means that as a rule I do more damage to them by conceding than if I had stayed.

hmm you can remedy this "fear" by playing odd warrior.. even not having all the cards, just playing it as see how you only gain some armor all the time and you actually CAN lose against aggro..
I never concede at any matchup with any deck.. my opponent might suck, he might just burn his main win condition, he might lack the removal it needs.. he might dc.. there is 0 reason to concede at the start of a matchup!
I played some control decks.. they sometimes don't have the removal.. so.. yeah.. their hand might be "baku, dr.boom, zola, azalina, coin", and you can feel free to just put a thug on board and snowball it to their face most aggro vs control strategy is thinking ahead, or just not.. if the matchup is bad sometimes just risk it, go all out.. and win if they don't have the removal they lose.
Odd rogue got a lot of strong minions and isn't a limited damage deck as face hunter or old pirate warrior.
Why be a defeatist do you queue into a game "to lose"?

Quest rogue vs fatigue mage

Depending on your winrate and your chance to win that matchup you may rank up quicker by auto conceding certain matchups due to the time it takes you to lose those matchups. If you can rank up faster AND not have to play against your worst matchups by just auto conceding it's basically a win-win.

Actually quest rogue with lab recruiter tech is pretty close to 100 percent win rate vs Baku warrior , unless the rogue player misplays.
Try to win against Mechathun priest or Toggagle Druid with Odd Warrior.
This. OK, I get hanging on with aggro against a control deck. But control against combo? It's just a matter of inevitability. I don't really feel like sitting around for 15 minutes just hoping that my opponent screws up somehow.
That said, I did see an HCT game the other day where a Hunter was dead to rights against Mechathun Priest. There wasn't a card in his deck or via Deathstalker Rexxar that could have given him lethal and his opponent had the guaranteed combo on the next turn. He builds a beast and takes Jeweled Macaw/Snowflipper Penguin. He plays it and gets Swamp King Dred, disrupting the combo, ticking the Priest for more fatigue damage, and giving him the one extra turn he needed to win it. It was pretty cool.
So, moral of the story... Run Elise the Trailblazer so that you can have a minuscule chance of disrupting Mechathun Priest?

Does quest rogue runs lab recruiter? I think they only run giggling as the only new card.. it's still *close to 100%* I think it's still not worth conceding if you are at ranks 5-1 or high legend.
specially if you got any rng element that might totally screw your opponent, even odd warrior got a few minions.. if they stick for long enough.. and say.. quest rogue doen't manage to draw sonya and complete the quest you can rush the rogue down (I think that's what you should do btw)
The only way to win in Rock Paper Scissors is not to play.
You won one game sure, but the time and effort you’ll put into losing the ones you don’t win... is it really worth it?
If the reward for playing ranked was worth it then sure, not conceding at the start of any game would be reasonable; but the reality is, this game has a way of burning you out. If you’re someone who can put up with almost futile situations and don’t mind literally wasting your own time though... then by all means play out every game.
I know this is a cynical view, but I don’t need to explain why after 4+ years playing this game why it makes me cynical.

So I topdecked a Southsea Deckhand.
So, here. That's what it takes. Piece of cake.
Cool story bro
pepper thread.. won a 30% matchup well done.

Today I won against zoo with my quest mecha'thun priest. It always feels good to beat unfavorable matchups.
Golden heroes: Warlock, Druid, Mage, Hunter

I just beat odd mech warrior with quest druid so these unfavourable match-ups can be pulled off

"Easy".
Play Stonehill get Lich King, play Lich King get the 2 manas spell steal a minion from opponent deck and then play the spell and steal the key minion.
Piece of cake. :P
