I've heard ppl saying that shadowstep and or prep should be Hofed. That would kill Rogue or its identity. Those 2 cards make the class unique and should always remain in standard
Most every dangerous combo with Prep involves Malygos. So is the issue Prep or Malygos?
Seeing all the shenanigans that Druid is about to pull in this new expansion, none of it overly dangerous if Malygos wasn't around (Togwaddle/Aviana in wild excluded), Malygos needs to be nerfed. Not HoF'd, because it's going to ruin wild, but nerfed.
I agree that Prep might be on the HoF watchlist, but it is so core to Rogue’s identity. Much more than Ice Block. While Ice Block was an autoinclude in most Mage decks, Prep is used in a variety of ways/situations. So, as much of a pain in my butt that Prep is, I think it should stay.

Malygos is an issue, it enables an OTK combo when certain classes can cheat it out, like Malygos shaman with Ancestor's Call, Malygos druid with Twig of the World Tree, etc and etc. But I don't think Malygos needs a nerf, the combo archetype just fits the meta... We just need to wait a little bit longer especially when the expansion has released, either in format of Standard or Wild. The meta will shaken it up by itself.
No doubt about it, this card is powerful and I do mean POWERFUL. It allows combos that normally wouldn't be allowed (due to maximum mana restriction). It's a card that will enable combo effects on its own but there are also forced usages lets not forget situations like this: sometimes You have to play Vilespine Slayer and the only spell in your hand is Preparation. Thanks to this card and Gadgetzan Auctioneer we will always have Miracle Rogue available in the meta especially when the 1st set of the year that will rotate 3 expansions. That was the case when Ungoro came out and Witchwood hold this to be true for now.
Currently it's played win rate is 51.4% (source: hsreplay.net). So it seems balanced. But is it balanced thanks to expensive cards like Necrium Vial or WANTED! (I played WANTED! it wasn't that bad still not amazing or anything). Well nobody is currently playing WANTED! and card is still average on it's win rate.
I do feel that Rouge cards are on the expensive side. But I can't back up that with any data, and feeling are delusional data are facts. I think that T5 know what they are doing and tested this. Right?
sprint is better than auctioneer at the moment due to there not being another fuel for the auctioneer. I mean it's still doable, but I reckon sprint has the edge in the current meta (for standard anyway)
I know you were not debating this, just saying. ha ha. I like sprint miracle rogue a lot.
I really think we will soon see a nerf to Preparation so it reduces spells by only 2 mana.
Now that Innervate was rightfully nerfed Prep really sticks out as the strongest mana cheat.
This.
Nerfing Prep to 2 mana reduction instead of 3 would fit well in line with the nerf 2->1 of innervate. It would also keep rogue's identity (you can still prep+eviscerate for 0, prep+vineslayer when needed, draw with auctioneer, ...). This will only cost 1 more mana when you use it to play a 3+ cost spell, which is a nerf (obviously), but the card would still be good enough (I think).
Prep is the definition of rogue playstyle, it's essential to the class and should not be touched by all means. It's not even that problematic right now.
Preparation Hof is impossible i guess because most of rogue spells are overcosted because of that card.
they need to buff other spells if it goes hof.

Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
Considering the entire point of the meta is cheating out OP bullshit these days, there really should be no reason why Rogues get so heavily penalized on their spell costs because OH NO THEY COULD PLAY ONE OF THEIR TWO PREPARATIONS AND HAVE A SINGLE 0 COST SPELL TO PLAY

I like elementals and totems.
Too vital to rogue. Move along
