Let me start by saying that Kingsbane deck is one of my favorites, I really like the idea of building up an omega weapon as the game goes. I know there are a lot of haters, but we also all know that this deck is not an easy one to play with 48% win rate at best. The main frustration from others seems to be that once the Kingsbane player finds leeching poison, the game is basically lost. Likewise, the main frustration for a Kingsbane player is not being able to get to that leeching poison fast enough.
So what could make this deck more balanced (aside from changing leech computation to be based on target hp rather than attack, which imo also needs to happen)? My idea is to make the leeching temporary but add more ways to enable it.
For example, leeching poison could be nerfed to not survive the breaking of the weapon (such that when kingsbane goes back into your deck it only keeps the damage, not the leech). This would make things less frustrating to players complaining about Kingsbane but would make the deck unplayable for players like me, who DO want to play this deck.
To help this 2nd group, I suggest introducing a minion that gives your weapon Lifesteal while in the field (similar to how Spiteful Smith gives temporary weapon damage boost). This would in turn force players to come up with creative ways to recruit this minion and keep him alive, changing the playstyle of the deck and boosting synergies with Sonya, Zola, and Dorian.
This would give Kingsbane players more ways to get that lifesteal while also solving the frustration of having to deal with 10+ damage permanent lifesteal.
Agree wholeheartedly. I originally thought "give it lifesteal" but you're right, a few buffs and that quickly spirals into OPness -- i'm just "never lucky" as certain streamers say. A minion aura is a good compromise! Good suggestion, now go brave the forums to deliver it to Team 5/Blizz :P

Great idea to content both groups. Would definitely solve the frustrating part for me.
