7-2 with Thief Rogue so far in wild against decks like Baku Face Hunter, Cubelock, Big Priest, Dragon Pally and the new OTK Shaman. I knew Spectral Cutlass would be great but this is absolutely insane. It's saved my life against aggro a few times now and can get mega value against control. In one particular matchup, I managed to get Twilight's Call twice, playing it four times with Valeera and resummoning Squidfaces like crazy until it became a 22/6 weapon. On top of that, Tess is a value beast! These are some of the most fun matchups I've had in this game. There is hope for Thief Rogue! Anyone else finding success?

Seems great my only problem is this: whats ur win condition? Is it buffing ur weapon? Cause if it is then why not run a Kingsbane? I mean i know nobody runs 2 ooze but cutlass seems dangerously fragile. How do u buff the second cutlass? Tess?

Win condition is the value game. You get tons and tons of cards generated and outvalue/outtempo your opponent. It changes every game based on what you generate but you mostly want to get a good amount of cards, play Peddler, and then later play Tess. Big weapon definitely helps though as it can provide massive healing, removal and face pressure. The reason why I opt out of Kingsbane is because it requires a lot of draw to get the Lifesteal and repeatedly get it back into hand. As a thief rogue, you're already generating so many cards that your hand is regularly full so you can't rely on drawing cards to develop the blade. Cutlass has lifesteal innately so you just need a buff or two, and you don't need to redraw it because you're playing so many opponent cards.
This deck is so gready. How can you survive aggro with that deck. Lol
I'm not sure why you would think it's greedy when the only cards above 5 mana are Tess and Valeera and one copy of Vanish. In terms of aggro, that's where the Cutlass comes in. With two copies and a Shinyfinder, there's a pretty good chance you'll draw into it by T4 and then it's 2-whatever healing for a good portion of the game. Plus you get many helpful cards from discover. I wouldn't count the deck out without trying it.
Aw geez, our decks are not that different but got like reverse winrate, I sucks at this game xD.
Sharing your fellings on Cutlass, that card is just lovely. So far I ran into a weapon removal only once, and it's easily the card which won me games against aggro. It even allowed me to survive a Jade druid until we almost went to fatigue (even scaring him despite doing the perfect ramp and double Dr 10 spell). Lacked some steam at the end so I lost but the game was thrilling.
It's just a mix of practice and RNG! Don't give up on the deck though as it's easily one of the most fun things I've played in awhile. Here are some highlights of my play.
-Outvaluing a big priest with a 22/7 weapon (picture above)
-Playing a Free From Amber, then Tess activating it again and choosing Majordomo. Survived 5 turns as Rag against a spiteful priest before I managed to get the shot I needed from the hero power to finish him.
-T4 Barnes from big priest summoned Rag. I killed it and got two Mind Controls, both reduced by two mana. T7 Prep + Mind Control a Rag he res'd. T8 he res's another one that hits my face, and MC that one too. Still lost because of 1/4 face shot from the next Rag.
-Full recovery from a Baku Face Hunter's onslaught with an 8 damage Cutlass.
-Vanish Cubelock board, finish him with big weapon.
The thing that all of these have in common is that they were enabled by the awesomeness that is Spectral Cutlass. It is leagues ahead of Kingsbane in the thief archetype and has single-handedly allowed a "meh" archetype to be competitive. If you're looking for numbers, I went from Rank 5 two stars to Rank 4 five stars today only playing Thief. Maybe that doesn't seem that crazy (I'm not boasting an 80% win rate), but I regularly beat out people who just took the top wild meta decks and played them as is with the intention of farming deck-testers. I highly recommend people give this weapon a shot.
Tried your version and the result is MUCH better. I think it's mostly due to DK, it gives you a free turn and multiply your end game potential, to a point I sometimes laugh at both Jade Druid and Cubelock. And I forgot about Squidface but you're right, this card works so good with Cutlass. If opponent have no weapon removal it's much easier.
I never tried the DK (since I gave up on Rogue a certain time ago), I wouldn't have though this card would be THAT good.
Glad it's working for you! I've come up against one deck that removed my weapon in around 25 games so the buffs are great. The DK is also really nice and gives you a turn to hit a minion/face with weapon, and then be untargetable, and then hit again for good recovery healing. Without that lifesteal, none of this would be possible so I'm happy with what they've done.
Also, please let me know if any changes work well for you. I'd like to try Skulker out (particularly if I start seeing more hunter/pally) and I've been thinking about Pyro + that Poison-giver for giants.
Perhaps. However, there's far fewer Burgle cards and Peddler isn't there either. I would go with the tempo versions listed on this site for that. Greymane is still usable but I wouldn't use Cutlass probably.
Dont have spectrals but i have kingsbane can i just sub in that to play this deck
Yeah I mean you're welcome to use whatever you like for it. The only downside with Kingsbane is you don't always have it up with Lifesteal and buffs right away, making it sometimes hard against aggro. That being said, it's still a good card so you can feel free to sub things out for it. The reason I don't use it is because it's really draw intensive (getting the buff cards/lifesteal, drawing a new copy once you break it) while Spectral Cutlass just needs a buff or two and one of them can last an entire match.
I agree with you. I've been pretty disappointed with Pick Pocket. However, it has given me some mega value draws in the late game against slower decks or at times when I need a refill. I am probably dropping one copy of it for either Burgle or Captain Greenskin. I've never been a big fan of Burgle though in my decks so we'll have to see about that one. If you prefer Burgle, by all means, use that instead. I recommend keeping one copy of Pick Pocket though for the situations where you need the huge draw.

Awesome! That was literally the first deck I wanted to try. Do you have a decklist?
Ibn Fahd.
I've not played it yet, but Thief rogue is the most fun I've had in Hearthstone! And... I got Tess as my free legendary! So hyped.
Could you share your decklist? :o
Here's my list so far. Planning on some minor refinements as I go but I've been happy with it so far!

A played theif rogue in ungoro. Glad it is still good.
I'm having success with my Tempo Thief, the Fox was the missing piece of the puzzle for consistency.
I am also going to try an Arcane Giant Miracle with pick pocket + Tess package as secondary wincondition.
Any hope for this archetype in Standard?

What about Burgle? Sometimes i think it's better than Pick Pocket.
