Hi! Title. It seems like 3 mana is the going rate for 3/2 weapons with slight upside and people happily play those weapons. That's basically what Deadly Poison is, right? In the Kingsbane thread, people were saying you never want to play Deadly Poison because it's bad, but how is it different from Fiery War Axe or Rallying Blade in decks that don't have divine shield cards? Deadly Poison even has the slight upside of going onto your other non Wicked Blade weapons like Shadowblade if you need it to. I think it might be time to rethink the card.
Simply put: you're wrong about what is considered a good weapon. A 3 mana 3/2 weapon is not good at all. As already stated: Fiery War Axe no longer sees play at 3 mana so Deadly Poison doesn't see play either.

Fiery War Axe was a bad example since warrior isn't popular. If warrior was popular, it would be played. What about Rallying Blade, Eaglehorn Bow, and Shadowblade?
It used to be an auto include in every single rogue deck before blade flurry got nerfed. That nerf hurt every weapon buff card so hard. That's why nobody runs them anymore and that's why Kingsbane was made.

3 Damage isn't as relevant in rogue because they have backstab and SI, which already give you 3 damage with the hero power. Thats why you don't see rogues run shadowblade much either. For hunter and paladin they can struggle to do that early damage and are entirely focused on board control so it's really important. Since rogues have tempo swings without weapons it isn't as needed.

Shadowblade has gained a ton of popularity actually. But this is the point that makes the most sense
Deadly poison is good. It cycles with auctioneer and is essentially 4 damage for 1 mana if you have your dagger equipped. But as someone said, it currently isn't good enough to see play. The reason deadly poison was part of the meta and widely used was largely due to oil rogue and blade flurry. Furthermore, with Patches and token Druid etc aggro tends to go wider on the board early and deadly poison can't deal with that efficiently enough.

I mean, sometimes it's used in tempo rogue for specific matchups but it's not a clear choice. It can be overkill on board control when you want to develop with more with minions.
Its not bad and, it has been played in other metas. There just is no deck atm that it fits to. Sure the nerf of blade flurry is probably the biggest reason, but with another synergy card thats good, deadly poison is viable, as with any card. There has alw ays been cards that shine in one meta and is not played in others.
This was what I think too. Some people think Deadly Poison is strictly bad though because they've only played a year and haven't seen it

This just in: Stupid people will be stupid. If you want to make a thread every time you hear dumb opinions you aren't going to have much free time.
As has been said, Deadly Poison isn’t bad, it’s just that synergizing cards have been nerfed, and Rogue has gone in a different direction as far as deck types are concerned.
I can guarantee you’ll be seeing a bunch of it for the first few days of the expansion, possibly more if the new Rogue weapon ends up being good enough to make the cut.

Why isn't Fiery War Axe considered good anymore? You know why, exactly.
I think its because rogue lacks the healing that the other classes have.

I think it is considered "good". But cards that are only "good" don't get played in constructed.

Valar Morghulis
It was for a long time a must include in miracle rogue, but better 1 mana cards were released for miracle, so it got replaced.
Also, tempo rogues who used it, with release of keleseth need more minions, so it didn't make the cut.
basically powercreep in miracle rogue, and not being a minion in keleseth rogue.. miracle runs a copy sometimes.
Deadly Poison IS good.
But Rogue typically has better options. That is the only reason, really.
UNLESS it is a full blown Pirate and/or Oil Rogue, where weapon impact has wider synergy.
