I'm thinking about running an updated Reno Rogue, obviously Rogue can't make use of Kazakus sadly, but some fun improvements I think like Lotus Agents and Shaku to add into the list, as well as Jade cards.
Do you think running the Pirate Package still is best to fight off early aggression? 1x Patches, 1x Bucc, 1x Swas.
I'm thinking this combined with Mistressof Mixtures will now allow Reno Rogue to survive to make it to Reno or Defender of Argus.
No but I always loved the idea of Reno rogue. Got some sweet wins with it pre gadgetzan(of course in rank 20), it was just a fun deck to play. If you want to play it just do it, that's the way to "enjoy" hearthstone. I'll try it too since you reminded me of it; GL!
I'd like a Shadowcaster but I haven't got one. I've not really thought about Barnes TBH but it might work.
EDIT: I'd probably ditch the Twilight Summoner for Barnes since getting that stoled by a priest is bad. Vanish works surprisingly well I was going to get rid of it but it's good in emergencies or to mill warlocks. Also the hilarious Reno/Shadowstep combo so Reno costs 4 followed by big enemy board -> play Reno then Vanish
EDIT2: Defender of Argos Catalogues might be worth a try too, probably for Deadly Poison? Although that is good to combo with.
EDIT3: Journey Below/Unearthed Raptor aren't star players either but they have had their uses. Unearthed Raptor is probably the next one to try removing...
I've messed around with a Reno Rogue a bit. It's a fun deck, though I never feel like Unearthed Raptor is very useful. It has its moments, but it's usually a dead card in my hand. Have you tried Xaril in the deck? The possibility of bouncing N'Zoth once more seems great.
Also, for that added bit of fun, should try out Anub'Arak in that deck. Definitely doesn't make the deck competitive, but it's a ton of fun. Just watch out for Priests. If they steal it, it's basically game over with how little removal you have.
I've played a couple of different versions on Reno rogue. My favorite was C'thun/Reno/Rogue. The problem with the whole archtype is it's not consistent. Not counting the fact that you simply can't get Kazakus in the deck, drawing and health can be a problem. Warlock's hero power and some nice defensive cards in priest make it pretty viable. Mage isn't bad and Inkmaster certainly keeps things doable. Cards like Iceblock and freezes help them outlast threats.
Rogue just doesn't have that sort of thing as much. I climbed to about rank 10 but it was a slow climb and some games it just failed horribly. Jade decks tend to wipe the floor with it but they aren't a big problem like they were a few weeks ago. Largest problem is out-living pirates. Have to mulligan just right.
I have no Xaril or Anob'smack I'm afraid. I usually pick Xaril from Journey Below though for the bounce reason you mentioned.
I may try Barnes instead of Unearthed Raptor like you said it is often a dead card copying a Huge Toad deathrattle isn't great ;)
EDIT: I remember why I put Vanish the deck now, big Jade Druids were everywhere when I was trying it. It can probably be cut for a Defender of Argos (for the workfare!) now aggro is more prevalent.
EDIT2: I always keep Reno in the Mulligan to cope with aggro but sometimes Valeera is dead by turn 6 regardless :(
EDIT3: Reading the OP again, I don't think Reno and Jade stuff goes together at all, you need all those to be 2 ofs.
currently reno rogue seems like it has more of a chance than ever, I would personally run the patches combo because with less consistency you need a really strong anti-aggro play to have a good chance. my experience is bounce jade rogue is doing pretty well but n'zoth is almost never useful. I never lose games because I can't outboard control control decks, I die because they kill me first. running a reno rogue I would try being a little less greedy than most people go, but I feel like if you want to run a slow rogue deck jade golems are really powerful, they generally allow for more power than standard other deathrattles and can really threaten control, while still being fast enough they have a chance against aggro.
things like southsea squidface, deadly fork, and tomb pillager don't really belong in a reno control rouge from what I have experienced. they don't really provide enough value to be good in control and they are all slow enough that they don't stop aggro. jade swarmer on the other hand don't always offer immediate value, but the ones that don't come early enough they will suffice and some solid rogue removal and a little luck makes them much more valuable than midgame deathrattles that don't even impact the board when they die. I would drop those for a little more of an aggressive plan with more draw. perhaps run an azure drake, I would consider jade but I know as a a reno rogue you have so few cards it might not work.
that is the main problem, running reno rogue runs you out of options so fast, and I think that fact is why it won't be viable probably ever. but if you are trying it get deathrattles that more impactful and consider your early game.

Has anyone experimented with a list?

I've been playing a Reno/N'Zoth bounce Rogue, it's not competitive but it is funny :)
Lots of ways to bounce Reno/N'Zoth back to your hand for another go.
EDIT: Mistress of Mixtures was bad in this deck though.
Any place for shadow caster or barns?
