I feel the perception here (which may not be entirely off, though I have my doubts) is Rogue is being sent back to the Stone Age while everyone else gets their own jetpack and rocket launcher, most notably Priest with Raza the Chained and Dragonfire Potion being the most talked about Priest cards.
However, the problem Priest had over the past year(?) was it had absolutely zero competitive decks. Dragon Priest was probably its best deck, and it was something like Tier 3? Even Resurrect Priest only saw a brief spot in the limelight before Midrange Shaman slapped it back down to irrelevancy.
However, all this time, Rogue has ALWAYS had Miracle decks to play. Even during the pre-standard, post-BRM period when Miracle Rogue was nerfed into the ground (by nerfing neutral cards, I might add) it still had Tinker's Sharpsword Oil with the old Blade Flurry (for those who don't know, it was 2 mana and dealt damage to face as well). For awhile this was a Tier 1 deck, really no less than Tier 2.
Now, fastforward to standard, and Miracle Rogue is back as a Tier 2 deck, with notable partner in Malygos Rogue (which is also Tier 2). It is certainly competitive (a deck which Firebat himself is quite fond of). Now if the complaints are simply wishing for something other than Miracle to play, I can see that, and there have certainly been those complaints. I do not, however, agree with those who say Rogue will be unviable, hot garbage. Malygos and Miracle Rogue are going nowhere. Maybe they don't get much better, but they're not getting any worse either.
Which is why I consider Rogue closer to pre-standard Druid. They are viable, competitive (maybe not Tier 1 like Druid was), but the main problem Blizz had with them was the fact so many of Druid's Classic cards were such good, much staple (wow). So I expect Rogue will get similar treatment in the coming adventures, expansions.

People keep talking about Pirate Rogue and Jade/N'Zoth Rogue. I'm not sure how viable these will be, but at the very least they're going to see some play. Personally, I like the challenge, and it'll be fun trying out new combos. I don't think Rogue is going to be quite as bad as everyone thinks. Definitely not as bad as Priest used to be.
If I may,

Hey, how's it going?
What's poppin,' player?
Pretty sure Rogue is the current Rogue.
I think so too, we just need some play time, i'm sure good decks will arise very quickly.
