I think I has a lot of potential after it gets refined and rogue can really take advantage of the combo possibilities with a card like gang up.
However I think Barnes has many other decks that are somewhat similar that could make some underused classes *cough* Priest *cough* viable again. What do you think?

legend is like a marriage, one day it'll actually be there.
Then turn 9 you play mallygos + prep + gang up and you have the combo more likely. It works better if you draw him or draw both dark irons first. One or the other.

The issue for me with the whole Barnes+ Malygos/Velen/Archmage combo is that if you ever draw your big card your Barnes becomes useless, as the idea is to play very few minions or only the one you want. If you want to play a malygos deck, you have to draw a lot of cards, meaning this scenario is very likely.
The only truly viable hard core deck I can imagine working with Malygos and Barnes is slotting it into a Yogg-Hunter style deck with the only minion cards being Yogg, Malygos, and 2x Summoning Stone and maybe a Thaurissan or something....and even then that's pretty fragile. I think too many ppl are overvaluing a turn 4 1/1 Malygos....it dies to 3 hero powers the next turn and you are going to have an awful hard time OTK. You really need it to be around the time a Thaurissan'ed fueled Malygos would hit the board anyway.
It's not a turn 4 1/1 mallygos that's cool about these deck ideas. It's a 4 mana mallygos that gives you 6 more mana to cast spells so you can do some fun combos without discounts from emperor. The decks might not catch on until after the new standard year rotates in the spring and we lose emperor. We'll see.

You won't survive to turn 9 nor be able to set up a lethal with so few minions. Burgle and Journey Below might help, but we will see.
That's what I'm most worried about and think is this deck's main weakness. I'll have to see once the card drops in a few weeks and can try the deck out.

I think of Barnes as sort of an alternative to Ancestor's Call. I'm excited about it for shaman. If you can stall long enough and you only include Emperor Thaurissan, Malygos and Barnes, you get one of two good options with Barnes. Here's the problem though: it's doable in shaman because of Healing Wave, Hex, Elemental Destruction and Lightning Storm providing survivability and clear. Rogue, however, is seriously lacking in control tools. Rogues need to use their minions and strong tempo to stay alive. Without minions, you're going to have a hard time surviving. With minions, your combo might be dead.
My advice: add some other strong minions (SI:7 Agent, Tomb Pillager, Azure Drake, Bloodmage Thalnos) to help with clear, draw and coins for Maly. Also add The Curator as a failsafe. You can always use your Gang Up combo later on to put Maly back in your deck. You can even do some Shadowcaster shenanigans to give yourself another Barnes if the first one doesn't work out. I think there's a lot of potential with one of these decks but you also can't put all your eggs in one basket.
The Curator would be a much better card, but even so, Rogue has the ability to draw a ton of cards with Gadgetzan Auctioneer and eventually dig deep enough into the deck and draw into malygos.
The Curator however may have some potential as it can be considered as a fail-proof card to draw malygos.
EDIT: Since Maly rogue revolves around Malygos (obviously), you could look at The Curator as 7 Mana 4/6 tauntwith "Battlecry: Draw your win condition."
So after the stream last night I had the idea for this deck:

Balancing busted cards version 1.0.
