I built the same deck months ago. Why is someone else getting credit for this?
Edit : Furthermore, that just goes to show how weak priest is. You proved my point for me. It only has decent success if you're using your opponent's cards. On it's own merits, it's incredibly weak.
Priest is not bad. You just have to play control. This is why it isn't seen on the ladder, however, that's going to change in the next couple of weeks probably. Midrange hunter does not like priest.
The glaring irony with Priest is that their cards are individually powerful, but lack any synergy and therefore suck when put together. Another thing is Priest has lots of trouble keeping board control, since their Hero Power does nothing on an empty board.
I just did two ranked matches with Mid-Range Hunter and both were against priest. The first conceded on his fourth turn and the second beat me handily.
The whole "priests suck" thing seems like kind of a circle-jerk, to be honest.
1. A consensus on message boards develops that priests suck, at least partly because they're slower-playing and tougher to learn than most popular decks.
2. People who read message boards don't play priest in ranked. Instead they play them for funsies in casual mode, meaning they are more likely to lose, because they don't care as much and probably don't put as much time into learning the deck.
3. HearthStats publishes stats saying their users (who are all the aforementioned forum-reading types) suck at Priest. People extrapolate that priests just suck.

I've got priest to level 50. It's not because forums tell me so. It's because it's fact. Priest is the most RNJEsus class there is, and the class requires components of your opponent's deck to be threatening. As well as a plethora of legendaries, if you're going that route (I'm actually not, since I don't have said plethora).
It's got a huge glaring weakness that is easily exploited by just about every deck design (the 4 attack minion, which can't usually be removed until turn 6 with Holy Fire). It's AoE capability is on the low end, as half of it requires a two card combination that against most classes is a one time use only. Don't even get me started on Shadowform.
People just generally have the patience to play Priests. The best priest decks are geared towards control. I main priest and am working my way up the ladder with it. I just think people are so caught up in the aggro game they don't want to take the time to win games the way priests do.
in casuals i face priest after priest, 5 of 9 games to be exact tonight. as a new player i found priest very frustrating to handle and play against. over time i learned how to much better handle priest. this season i find them a lot more throughout rank. around rank 13 to 10 they give me some challenging games. i think with more attention priest can still be competitive and get on par with some of the other classes. id rank them 7 of 9 in terms of class strength at the moment. i agree that some of the priest stats are miss leading. i feel new players are drawn to priest and skew some of the stats with misunderstanding of general card game mechanics. overall i think priest are in an okay spot and that paladins and mage have more right to cry about their class.
I still see a lot of Hunters and Warlocks in casual, which is good. When I'm testing a new deck, I do so in casual, because I don't want to f*** my ranking. And it's good there are still Hunters and Warlocks in casual, because I definitely want to test against those ... and the other classes are bonus to make sure the build is well-rounded.
I'm currently testing a Rogue that I'm feeling pretty confident to start using in ranked now.
To be honest, I think Priest is pretty good... However, it is a class that does need a lot of thinking and if people are not familiar can lose the game easily... give it a try, I still think it is strong...
I agree that I have never seen a real aggro priest deck before, however this article about "tempo priest" shows that you can actually make a good mid range priest deck: http://ihearthu.com/sparks-competitive-tempo-priest/
I tried this deck and I really liked it. I just think people need more time to explore all the goodies that priest has to offer. Until then, get ahead of the curve and own people with your priest deck :D.
Any deck will win with Ysera and Black Knight. Like, literally, I could put Rag, Ysera, BK, and Cairne into a ham sandwich and beat most people with it. Also that draw engine is horrendous, Watchers are way too dependent on you having the other cards to make them work, and again it's running double Thoughtsteal which means priest on it's own is still needing cards from other classes (or decks) in order to work.
Do an experiment. Go into ranked play. Play at least ten games. Tell me how many priests you face.
Now go into casual mode. Play the same number of games. Tell me how many you face then.
Priest. The deck class so good, it's only played in casual mode. : /
People want to play Priest, but don't want to risk their ranking.
It's a mid-tier class which takes a lot of time to make it to the higher ranks. Aggro Priest doesn't exist, ergo: Priest doesn't see much ranked play.

its not mid-tier... its low-tier.
Or should I say.... low-tear?

I loved it in arena when I ran a Priest and played Thoughtsteal only to get Deadly Poison and Blade Flurry.

control priest is bad. and priest isn't even designed as a control class
hint: the hero power is for healing your minions
hint: priest has extremely limited board clear
hint: control priest cannot efficiently deal with staple mid-range minions
no board clear + no efficient mid-range removal + trying to have minions on the board = not control
Where is this deck? I've heard it and don't see it posted.
