It's been answered a dozen times already but combine everything people have said and then look at the actual win % of the class which should be the biggest point of alarm for Blizz. It's not a dominant class - not by a long shot - but games against it aren't fun or engaging in any way and that is honestly the biggest takeaway.
Some people hate long games purely for the purpose of climbing ladder but I honestly think that gets overblown. I don't think some people would mind longer games but when they are played in the way a Priest game forces which negates any and all decisions you make in the game then people tune it out and don't want to take part in it. Personally, I lean towards mid-range/tempo and highlander decks so a Priest matchup for me is almost an automatic 40 minute death by 1000 papercuts war of attrition....it's just not fun or engaging so I elect to auto-concede unless I have a nice bonus streak in standard. Free time is finite and free time for video games is even more of a commodity so why would I spend my time doing something I don't feel like doing?
Actually I think that's the problem with priest, control priest do nothing but remove your minions, counter your cards(steal, silence, etc.), generate infinite value, heal and maybe throw some minions here and there but it has no big win condition, it just wins by playing a painful game of attrition, there is some cases where the priest clearly already won but is unable to close the game because it has just removal and the match extends for much turns more than it should, dumb analogy but priest is like a warrior but with a bigger shield and a spoon as weapon.
Reminds of this game, both control decks are drawing the nuts but the mage is constantly pushing for the win and the priest is just stalling until it somehow gets the win.
I must say I actually enjoy playing priest here and there but I just wish it had a slightly less passive gameplay and some game ender plays.

I mean if they're bad maybe, or they're playing from behind sure. But no that's not a problem anyway. That's... how control decks work.
I mean usually other control decks have some ways to close games wether be giant minions or some burn combo or OTK but usually in priest you just make the opponent starve to death or kill it with a spoon (low attack minions over several turns).
I don't think this is a problem gameplay wise (anti-fatigue decks were pretty popular back in the day) but it's more like it can be frustrating to some players face a deck that does "nothing" than removal and would rather get killed by late game finisher on turn 12 than chipped away by a priest on turn 28. But I don't know that's my bias as I usuallly play meme control decks.

I don't get it either.. I think every class shines in their own way. It is that very fact that makes the game so compelling. Do some shine more than others at times? Of course, but that's what keeps everyone coming back for more. Net decks aren't a way of life. Sometimes ya gotta think outside the box, and solve a particular match up accordingly. Mindrender Illucia Isn't the end of the world. Totally frustrating card for sure. Don't get me wrong.. Just my twelve cents.
Midrange is supposed to win on a midrange turn. If it doesn't, you've essentially lost against Priest control and it's time to concede. If you're not a control deck, don't expect to beat a control deck by playing control. Win or concede before it turns into a control game. It's quite simple. This is clearly a case of git gud.
Priest is all about breaking your mind. You watch into the hand and deck of your opponent. Steal their best cards. Psychological warfare. If opponents get annoyed priest is working correctly. The class is living up to his fantasy.
I beat priest pretty easily with Totem Shaman as well. It is an obnoxious class though. Minion stealing is a pretty annoying mechanic. Priest isn't that strong but it's annoying. There is always an obnoxious control class though, like Blue in magic.

Just imagine if the class had secrets... The stuff of nightmares! :P

Oh boy I would really like that. Watching the hand of the enemy with lazul and then playing the right secret. What a nightmare
I personally love playing against priest. I can start the game. Drive home from work, put the kids to bed, have a deep conversation with the wife about how she deserves a day off. Go to sleep, give my wife the day off and look after the kids. Cook her a nice supper after a day out shopping and just relaxing. Then look at my phone again and the priest is still deciding what not to play on on turn one.
