First of all, I'm not a wild player but I got so bored of standard I barely jump into the game to complete my quests so I want to try some wild because standard decks don't attract me right now. I was thinking of raza priest because I like the highlander mechanic, I kinda like priest and I suppose the deck is strong after the raza unnerf. I do have zephrys and DQ alexstrasza and just unpacked soul mirror. I have enough dust to craft raza, anduin and reno jackson for the highlander stuff plus some other epics, rares and commons. Not enough dust to craft kazakus, emperor, thalnos or loatheb. Could this work?
I mean for me it is fun and I reached top1000 legend on EU last season with it and this season I'm currently at D2 (I only played this deck).
About that legendaries - emperor and loatheb are not necessary imho and I dont run them in my list.
Kazakus is nice to have, you can get some polymorf effect, clears and draw from him. Instead you can run like kabal courier, zola, some other value card.
Thalnos is great. Against aggro he is amazing with spirit lash, can pump breath of infinite to 3 damage and he is a draw as well. I also run Azure drake, which is kinda like thalnos, but for later (and helps in dragon package). I think if you dont run thalnos you need additional healing, because he is amazing against PW and DH.
In current meta you need to accept you'll never beat quest mage, you'll loose a lot against secret mage and mecha cthun will also destroy you, unless you pull combo piece with rat. Gluttonous ooze is a must have. Psychic scream as well.
I don't believe this deck is that easy to pivot and I've played it a lot in the past and now after unnerf.

Could Greater Healing Potion be a good healing option? Also, isn't the old otk combo good against other combo decks if you draw cards in time? I remember Velen+radiant elemental+mind blast+holy smite with a hero power between all these cards could burst for 32, now the problem is that holy smite doesn't hit face anymore so it would need a replacement.
Yes, deck is currently very good. It is tier 1 deck as best control deck.
I believe that is good craft for you. Priest decks in general are shity and this is best deck they have. Especially with recent change of class identity Priest lost damage abilities and decent draw, only thing left is random generation and ressurect ability...which let be honest, are trash. Having one normal deck, where you can grind 500/1000 win portraits is in my opinion favorable thing.
This deck is also, for control players, very fun....because with all of your "destroy board" control stuff (which we like), you actually possess decent win condition. I hate when i see control decks with win condition "out value", that is bullshit...i need a reliable way to kill an opponent.
Also your win condition are basically 3 cards (DK Anduin, Raza and Spawn of Shadows) plus random cards in your hand. If you play smart, you can win nearly all control decks. I won against Odd Warriors and Control Druids that possess 30 hp and 50 armor, because i played well. With just 3 combo pieces, you can put in rest of the deck whatever you want (ofc it must be highlander based because of the Raza).
Deck also have soft and hard counters:
- Hard counters are fast combo decks.
- Soft counter is Grizzled Wizard + Sir Finley or just Dirity Rat and other combo tech cards.
So it will never get too obnoxious, because deck can be beaten.
Currently there are two played version: Dragon and Spell version. I prefer spell version because Dragon version is a bit awkward and not reliable enough and with spell version i was in legend two times (third time soon).
The best thing in my opinion about highlander priest is that, aside of highlander mechanic, it isn't bound for any other mechanic. As such it can profit a lot with every new expansion. In this one we got Soul Mirror, which is amazing and upgraded version of light bomb.
You mentioned a lot of legendaries, so think well...do you wish to invest that much dust. Out of mentioned legendaries for the craft, i believe that Emperor and Lotheb aren't that important for the deck. Bloodmage would be welcome edition, but not necessary. Lastly Kazakus is necessary, because it is usually play on 4 mana and get potion (draw 2 + deal 4 damage to all minions).
I crafted Raza befor of the unnerf, because I really wanted to play Razakus. Now, I got 3 versions of this deck in my deck list. A very good version is with a relative high number of cycling cards. I attach here the deck codes. Maybe will help you in your decision and imagination. Those are not budged decks. Dragon Raza Priest AAEBAZ/HAh4JoQS5Bo0I0wrXCvIMkg/WEe4RwxaFF4ivAoK1AoO7Ati7Auq/AsPBAtHBAujQApDTAsvmApeHA+iJA/yjA9isA4GxA5GxA5m2A5O6AwAA Razakus-good draw and anti-agro. Reno priest is very strong at the moment with the average meta decks at high ranks. The biggest problem decks would be quest mage, mechathun warlock, and mech paladin (with a crazy start). My experience at the end of last season was almost everyone was playing a Reno deck of one type or another at rank 4-1 since it out heals odd demon hunter and secret mage so well. I used the following list with tech to counter mirror matches and have a slightly better chance against quest mage.

Thanks for the tips. I will make sure I will craft kazakus as soon as I gather enough dust. I could disenchant some cards for him but I prefer to maintain a decent collection.
enoX_36 - yeah greater healing potion is a good heal. But like other guys said - you can put basically whatever you want and then optimize. Core cards will always be the same (like 20 cards) and the rest can be changed depending on matchups or personal preference.
I run a different list with velen, Priest of the feast and gepetto. Velen provides another strong win condition and priest is a very good body that can be very sticky and act as a soft taint versus aggro.
But this version is rather expensive. If you already have the dragonqueen you can go for the dragon package. It's consistent enough and you will easily climb.
Thanks for the support guys. I decided to craft it without kazakus until I have more dust. Looks fun so far, I hope I won't get bored of it or that wild meta will not drive me insane lol.

You are gonna have a bad time expecting good things from wild meta
Prepare to meet some quest mages, pw, odd dh, secret mages and mech paladins. :D
Well, quest mage is definitely a bad match up, good thing I didn't face many. The only warrior I met was pirate and u can beat them easily if they don't have early wrenchcalibur to mess up your highlander cards. I haven't faced odd dh or secret mage yet, mech paladin is easy match up, I haven't lost a single game against them.

Good? Not bad, not tier 1, not bottom tier. I think it is far from how oppressive it was back in the day.
Fun? Depends on what you like, it is slightly draw, dependent. It is not hard to pilot. But it is annoying for the opponent for sure.

I use Greater Healing Potion, it is very good card.
Valen is bad and to make combo you need a lot of specific cards, Spawn of Shadows is good enough replacement.
With this list i got top 500 legend on EU last month:
