Some ppl like to giggle off of thay. Mostly underage kids on their ID or brain. Same one's that like big priest. They giggle each time they play their green cards summoning giant stats. They dont care about ranking up. Just giggle. No skill deck when u play the green card per turn.
There are counter options, but they are not equally available to all classes, some just don't fit in certain archetypes, and others are just bad. Pure pally, for instance, is pretty much just wrecked. But I wouldn't flat out say there are no counters, and I would also argue for a slow (post-nerf) card that aims to slow down the opponent in the long game (it's good against control but aggro doesn't aim to draw through most of its deck), there doesn't need to be a universal good counter for it. It doesn't warrant it. The issue lies with too much resurrection that multiplies the effect of the death rattle to a potentially problematic degree, so I say it's the priest res mechanic that needs countering or changing, not the albatross. There, we also deal with wild and the endless amounts of Convincing Infiltrator and Khartut Defenders.
I'm just playing along with this thread and looking at what the problem might be. Personally, I don't really care since it doesn't bother me too much. When I play highlander mage, I mulligan for polymorph or Zephrys into hex and try to avoid killing a turn 4 albatross if I can afford to wait. Also won against a res priest once despite them shuffling over 20 birds into my deck by being super greedy with my hand and always going for max value plays. When I play more tempo-based decks, I don't care about the birds. Basically I either have a plan to deal with it or don't care. Again, sorry pure pally. That deck is just hopeless in most matchups.
how can you call Polymorph or Hex a counter to albatross?? if that's the best counters out there, I think I should be playing more albatross in my decks imo
Because it is? Transform effect removes Albatross from the res pool. Those cards are just general res counters, and as control decks, which would run those cards, are also decks with a longer game plan, they benefit a lot if they can prevent having their draw bricked by many birds.
If you're considering playing more Albatross in a non-res priest deck to bait a polymorph or hex from better targets, you're really missing the point. Albatross sucks outside res priest, especially post nerf. Read all of this with res priest in mind.
The issue I took in calling hex or polymorph an actual counter is that you're using a 4 mana spell to counter a 3 (now 4) mana minion and the biggest benefit you're getting out of it is that their res-pool might be a bit worse so they might whiff up to 2 times in the game later on (if at all). I'll admit however that hex and poly are probably the best answer you'll have to answer an enemy albatross, and that albatross isn't as good a card against faster decks (postnerf) sure... I won't deny that.
I mean it's not like res priest doesn't have any other juicy polymorph targets...
(I'm not arguing that it's your best play however)
I'm a butt hurt douche that wants the universe to align to my sub par intellect.
Sure, you're probably not wrong. Still if you're just pointing out the obvious, what are you actually contributing to the conversation?
I finally made peace with myself and with this topic. I apologize for my behaviour and my language.
I now concede every game vs priest. It wont rank me up very fast but oh boy how much more fun I´m having and I´m a much more peaceful person.
Over and out.
As someone who didn't really take issue with the thread and just read the first page with amusement, that's a really mature response from you. Someone once told me that the issue with politics and just discourse in general isn't bias or fallacies or all that, but just simple humility and the ability to recognize when one is wrong and accept it.
why do people play freeze spells? Do you think it is funny to block the enemy from using their weapons? why do people play ooze? ..... why do people play Death Knight? why do people play astral units?
I'd love to explain it, but I am not sure, if the cat avatar guy gets the message...
This is a dangerous paths as it motivates more and more people to switch to playing Priest...
I doubt anyone is so tired of res priests as I am that they´ll auto-concede.
I mean I could potentially wait and see if its res priest or highlander priest, as highlander priest I found really enjoyable to play against, but I just cannot be arsed to sit through 5 turns while the priests does nothing just to see what kind of deck it is. Its kinda sad really but I´ve been having much more fun now. I´ve stopped worrying about climbing ranks and are now just refining decks for tournament play instead. There I can just bad priest or DH if I need to :P.
And no, I´m not an aggro player. Right now my favorite decks are Libram combo paladin, Galakrond Warrior value control and either Dragon quest shaman or Totem shaman.
Do you decide what is fun and what is not in this game for everyone?
Like I said. The only reason for finding fun playing that deck is that you find enjoyment in others misery, in which case I´m very worried.
You hit the nail on the head with this. A lot of this community just plays these kind of decks (but mainly face decks in both ladders, res priest and quest mage in wild) because they now get enjoyment out of others misery. Do not let them tell you different.
These people get off on sending you to the salt thread or seeing posts there. That’s why people spam a face deck over and over or whatever flavor of the month. They love the messages they get. All of this comes of course regardless of the impact that it has on the community and game. Make no mistake, these rats have really dragged Hearthstones community down over the years and are pushing people away to Runeterra or Magic.
Keep on laughing and telling people they are salty. Wait til this card game is the least popular and supported and then who’s salty?
It doesn't take long to figure out. If they just pass turns 1 & 2 then 99% it is Rez Priest. Galakrond Priest (which I encounter much more often in the last few days) always has some early play minions/spells
As a player that played a lot of mill rogue and druid back in the days I can say that screwing some matches up completely is very fun. Playing against someone with too many high cost cards - what a joy to see them burn all their good stuff.

Or maybe they're playing them because these are strong decks and they want to win? Or maybe those are the only decks that they have cards for? I think it's kind of scummy to judge someone's character based off of what Hearthstone deck they play.
Can somebody tell me why whiners keep missing the salt thread and spamming the forum? Mods, at this point you might as well just delete the salth thread.

This is only true is people start doing this en masse. Which will never happen.
