So I hadn't played Priest for a very long time. Can't even remember when I played it last so I thought to myself. Let's do some Priest (even though it has the lowest winrate, I mostly play for fun). So I started looking through hearthpwn's massive library, I looked through hsreplay.net, metadecks, trumpdecks and disguisedtoast for some inspiration...
Did you know that Shadow Visions are in ALL decks that's even remotely played right now? Do I have it? no. Did I craft it? Yes... Good Bye Whisbang! Do I win? Not really. :D
Anyway. I just wanted to discuss the importance of this card since it seems to be 100% necessary to build a viable deck in the current Meta. Even in wild. What are your thoughts on this card? Will it be nerfed (as blizzard sometimes nerfs 'overused' cards). Is it possible to build a deck that has a resonable winrate without it? Me, personally can't wait for it to be rotated next year. Never been a fan of conformity in deck building.
It's just a solid and flexible card that lets you tutor for spells. Blizzard will not nerf anything in Priest as it would be insane to consider decreasing priest's "power" level.

It doesn't need a nerf, it's balanced itself (i hate when they got 4 mind blast).
Priest would literally die without shadow visions. It's a key part of almost every deck. It's one of my favorite cards in the game, i love the utility and versatility.
Extra mind blasts for more burst in mind blast control or velen/malygos priest.
Extra removal or silence when you don't have it and need it, or sometimes a heal to keep yourself alive after you've stabilized the board.
Inner Fire/Divine Spirit Priest would be a meme combo if not for shadow visions to grab combo pieces you're missing or were forced to use early, or even just a third divine spirit to kill armored up dudes.
Extra spell plays to charge a spellstone or do damage with Wild Pyromancer
Priest really lacks tempo plays, so having the extra value of being able to discover a spell you need for answers is essential. I notice some players use this card poorly by playing it on curve or topdeck. That's fine if you know you need to stack mind blasts or you're certain you'll need a specific card for the matchup. . Otherwise you just use it the turn you need it or the turn before if there will be mana restrictions or you're unsure what spell you'll get.
I think simply put. This card adds consistency to a deck, and consistency usually makes a deck better. If there isn’t a card like spiteful summoner or dragon’s fury I see no reason not to play shadow visions.
I see all your points. They are very valid. Do you feel that it is a card that might/should/could be added to classic even? Don't get me wrong, I know it's a good card. I just never seen a card that's so much played (at least non-neutral) in all decks in a contemporary meta.

If it gets moved to classic then Blizzard can’t really ever design a “discover a card” spell for priest. How do you make a balanced card that’s better? And if it’s not better then why don’t you just play shadow visions?
Certain other cards see lots of play, like wild growth. And wild growth has the problem that it is in classic. Blizzard has made other ramping spells (and a minion) and it’s hard to justify playing these over wild growth because of how strong wild growth is.
Lastly, I think every mage deck would run primordial glyph (and it’s somewhat similar to shadow visions); however dragon’s fury makes primordial glyph a nonbo in big spell mage.
They're going to slowly add replacements for Shadow Visions; it could be argued that post rotation Topsy Turvy could replace Shadow Visions as an extra inner fire type generator, just for example. Long story short in card games being able to tutor for specific effects is only outdone by reducing casting costs...just like Prep it's a core card to Priests' identity.

I would like that personally since Priest is in such a bad spot right now and it's something that is somewhat unique to priest, falls in line with the flavor, and is so good for the archetypes. I could see the argument against it since it's so ubiquitous with priest and team 5 doesn't really like that. However there are cards like Wild Growth and Preperation that are almost always used unless the archetype stops it (spiteful, odd, etc).
Priest needs something, and keeping shadow visions after rotation would be really nice if they're going in the same spell dependent direction.

yeah, topsy is a really nice card in combo priest. Has several uses and escapes Giest killing your win condition. I find myself digging for extra divine spirit more often though so I hope they add something sort of like that. Maybe a card like Glitter moth but without the odd restriction.
lmao. 4 mindblasts is almost the only way for a priest to even win these days but you want to rotate it. Sure. Just rotate this whole game. We need hearthstone 2.

Do you want to kill the meta? Lol seriously though the glitter moth+void ripper combo is pretty strong when it goes off. I can't imagine giving another double health effect to divine spirit priest

Shadow Visions is just an answer generator, u can have whatever spell u want whenever u want
