Priest is just in a shit spot right now. That's all. Spiteful Priest and Dragon Priest weren't control. Not every class has to have aggro, nor should they. Priest had a great run from Gadgetzan (Dragon) to Frozen Throne (pre-nerf RazaHighlander) and to Kobold (Last chances of Dragon/Spiteful/Big). Hopefully, we make a comeback with the whatever expansion drops in 2019, because it doesn't look like this one is going to do the trick.
Priest is not supposed to do aggro. It needs more tools to handle with aggro though. Currently the only way to deal with early overflooded boards is Spirit Lash with Bloodmage Thalnos , which is not a good situation.
Now we got the 5 mana semi boardclear brawl thing. Hopefully that will do the job but I'm afraid we got too many meme cards again, just like the last expac. Which completely screwed us over.
Priest can do aggro. Murloc Priest is viable, I have been playing it lately in R4ish. When I played it, it practically lost always to aggro rogue. Control warlock was also tough nut to crack. Paladins/mages/hunters/shamansmostly won. Some nice draw games were finished by turn 5-6. I feel that Priest is much better than i.e. murlock mage, which someone consider also viable deck. Priest has better draw+minion buffs and heals to keep murlocs alive.
The Priest class is only as flawed as the player who plays it.
Priest has by far the lowest winrate. Please come with a better argument.
Maybe it has something to do that playing priest requires more skill than i.e Shudderwock shaman, odd paladin, where you just toss everything on board not even caring whether the battlecry goes off (shammy tossing MCT on empty board turn 3).
The biggest problem I always have when playing Priest is the easy removal cards, like Hex, Polymorph, Execute, Assassinate, etc. st is good at developing and maintaining large threats, but those threats are too easily removed by cheap cards, so yeah, I see that as a problem.
It is called ”skill” to bait hard removals out on before playing your ”stars”.

Why would you whine about class identity?
