Hi, I'm playing HS for 2 months. I started playing Priest by copying some starter/basic deck... and little by little I added/removed some cards. With very little knowledge, experience ...and limited card pool... I managed to construct this:
Little bit of everything. :) The results are: lot of wins and fun (often long and dramatic) gameplay experience (mostly on casual or low rank). Obviously, the deck looks funny in comparison with serious ones, but as I said I'm enjoying it, until I get better stuff (to craft Shadowreaper Anduin and pair it with Prophet Velen which I already have). Plus this deck pretty much works for me. For now, I'd like to tweak it a little, I hope with the help of you guys. You can find my card collection in the profile.
Here I'm listing some doubts (what to add, what to remove?):
- Circle of Healing - Not included. Either, I don't know how to play it, or usually I don't have enough minions early on the board. I heal with the hero power, spells and minions. No Auchenai Soulpriest, too.
Lots of questions, and I only really had one that I felt I HAD to answer (I don't have much time rn). Circle of Healing can *THEORETICALLY* get MASSIVE value from a Northshire Cleric. If you read the card text of Cleric, it's not "Whenever a FRIENDLY minion is healed,..." it's "Whenever a minion is healed,..." meaning that if you are willing to heal your opponent's minions and yours (you should have a bigger board so that you get more value), you can draw a TON of cards. Just don't go full Northshire, as Graves The Cleric would say :)
Other than that it doesn't seem like a bad deck, reminds me a bit of my early priest decks :D

shaThis is a midrange/combo deck, but not a control deck. A few thoughts:
Only 40% of your cards are minions, that may be an issue. I’d definitely consider doomsayer as it can slow down pressure .
Due to the high number of spells, Lyra and the 2/3 elemental may work better than Anduin. Avoid Velen he isn’t an immediate at 7. In the history of HS he only saw play for a few months at a competative level.
Silence vs mass dispel. Realistically you won’t silence more than 1-2 threats. A 0 mana is much better than 4 mana draw one.
Weapon removal go with the 2 drop. If you’re playing a non weapon class it is decent stats. Only 4 classes play weapons now, the other cards are bad against 50% of the decks that run weapons.
Shadow madness is fun especially against voidlords but a bit overpriced.
Thank you for your replies. Always thought Circle of Healing is either to damage or to heal yours when enemy minions are intact. Good to know this now. ...Also, I'm aware the deck has to few minions. Usually, I don't drop more then 1 minion until midgame... I should change this.
Shadow Word Death - 1 should be enough in the current meta. Hard to tell with the expansion so soon. If you find you are struggling to take down big minions, add another
Injured Blademaster is another reason Circle of healing gets play. Being able to drop a 4/7 body early is really good.
Thoughtsteal is iffy. Generally, it will pull cards that suit your opponents playstyle, not yours, and won't help you. Sometimes you will pull value, but its unreliable.
Priest of the Feast replacement - Hard to say, there's nothing really with the potential value that it can deliver. Maybe play about with Divine Hymn if you pull it from WW packs? It could cover for Circle of Healing as well, although with less Draw potential for cleric.
Shadow Word Madness works well at low ranks, with people playing netdecks and have no idea how to play them. Look for value in most games, and Voidlords against Warlock. As you progress, you'll find less and less chances to get value with it.
Doomsayer is definitely something to consider, as it can stop you getting rushed in the early game.
With the amount of spells that you are running, I would seriously recommend putting in 2 Radiant Elementals. I think that the best cards to cut for this are a Temple Enforcer and a Shadow Word: Death, mainly because there are not many targets for Death now and usually 1 Death and Mind Control will suffice.
Down the line, I would also recommend including Lyra, the Sunshard since it can give you more ammo in control matchups and Psychic Scream for a good board clear, though that might take a little while to get there.
Of course, it helps. I need as much advise as I can get. Thanks everybody.
I have one more question:
What is with the turn1 Northshire Cleric? Usually, 80%, this turns bad in my games, so I don't do it, very often, without coin and Power Word: Shield. On the other hand, if you wound your NC next turn, it's good.
I love to play priest, its one of my favorite classes. A small suggestion. Aggro is part of the meta, but you dont have a lot to slow it down.Tar Creeper is a neutral common that is good against aggro and only costs 40 dust to craft. If you are getting any Witchwood packs and happen to get the Witchwood Grizzly it way be a good inclusion, to me it looks like a good rare card that can fit in a lot of decks. With Inner fire it may be an awesome priest card imho.
If you havent read the post linked in my signature, go ahead and read it. It may stop you from making some common errors, ones I myself have made.
I preordered The Witchwood. My decision is to spend money only on promotive offers like preorders (sometimes), Welcome bundle, Year of Mammoth bundle... Until now, I was opening mostly Classic, KotFT and Kobolds, so it remains to focus on UnGoro in hope to get Tar Creeper and Radiant Elemental just by opening packs. If not, I'll craft'em.
Indeed, I read your thread after your first post here. :) Luckily, I think I succeeded to avoid a lot of those traps for new players.
- Playing for 2 months - not a single card crafted (1475 dust + Ice Block + 500 possible)! I still weigh which are my preferred classes, fun decks to play, etc... and I'm waiting for The Witchwood... Thinking ahead.
- I haven't played a single Arena match. Not even used the free entry. Waiting for the rotation; and to get some experience, knowledge (by reading articles, comments, wikis...)
- I still play 85% of games in Casual (ranked: 15-20). Competitive HS isn't my top priority, at least at the moment. I'm just enjoying HS with more or less equal relaxing matchups where a lot of things work. To have fun is my primary reason for playing this game.
- Got Ozruk and Lorewalker Cho; and I haven't DE them yet. :P I'm not DE legendaries... Yet...
- In the beginning I rushed to much, often pressing NextTurn button to early, forgetting a lot of things, making misplays... Now, I'm able to predict moves and play around AoE; even make baits properly.
And, yeah, Priest is fun as you do a lot of stuff and you must make right decisions every moment.
Lorewalker Cho is defiantly a good candidate to dust. But dont do it until you have something you need, lots of dust seems to bring out the urge to craft.

Here I'm listing some doubts (what to add, what to remove?):
- Silence - This, or: Mass Dispel?
- Holy Smite - Is this necessary? I keep this to clap something in the early game.
- Inner Fire - Is one enough? For lethal...
- Northshire Cleric - Autoinclude.
- Power Word: Shield - Autoinclude.
- Divine Spirit - ...
- Shadow Word: Pain - Autoinclude.
- Spirit Lash - AoE addition to Holy Nova.
- Shadow Word: Death - One or two?
- Thoughtsteal - Always good experience with this one (extra cards + spying).
- Unidentified Elixir - This substitutes stats changing minions.
- Lightspawn - Random priest minion... for Divine Spirit
- Priest of the Feast - This one won me numerous games. From 1 to 30 Hp. How to replace him after the rotation?
- Holy Nova - ...
- Holy Fire - I simply needed to include this one after several looses. Have helped me a lot of times.
- Temple Enforcer - Two bigger minions to substitute Boulderfist Ogres, haha. I think to replace one of them with Coffin Crasher.
- Lesser Diamond Spellstone - I'm not going anywhere without this one. After I got this card, I removed Eternal Servitude? Good or bad move?
- Obsidian Statue - Autoinclude. Insane card. Together with LDS.
- Mind Control - Is only one enough?
- Tainted Zealot - To pump damage to those 2 AoE spells. It will survive 2 damage from Spirit Lash, because of divine shield.
- Fungal Enchanter - I don't know why I run this minion. Probably, because I removed Darkscale Healer (already enough high cost minions) and Earthen Ring Farseer
- Injured Blademaster - Usual Priest's minion. Or not?
- Chillwind Yeti - Another 4 attack minion. Hard to get rid of him, as he serves me majestically. :)
- Gurubashi Berserker - Healing, Divine Spirit,Inner Fire combos...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Circle of Healing - Not included. Either, I don't know how to play it, or usually I don't have enough minions early on the board. I heal with the hero power, spells and minions. No Auchenai Soulpriest, too.
- Shadow Madness?
- Acidic Swamp Ooze or Gluttonous Ooze or Corrosive Sludge?
- Doomsayer?
- Stonehill Defender? Because the deck lacks taunt besides (revived ;) Obsidian Statue and Mind Control's victim.
- Deathaxe Punisher. Crap?
- Lone Champion to substitute Chillwind Yeti?
- Faceless Manipulator?
- Sunborne Val'kyr?
- Early minions?
- Witchwood?
- Something easy to craft?

If you would like others to suggest cards you may have its best to install Inkeeper and make your card collection public so others can see it.
If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
Fixed, now it is public.
