so looking at the cards I had, it seems I can build this relatively cheap priest deck.
I Have a little bit of spare dust to make possible improvements. Is there anything that could make this deck better, even possibly legendaries? I see some people run the glimmerroot card, is that worth crafting?
Also I have keleseth and patches, so maybe an even more aggressive version would be good?
I have all the cards in the deck already, just looking for possible improvements and maybe inclusion of legendary cards. Would zola the gorgon be good? been wanting to use that card. I don't have it, but one of my favourites from the new set.
Looks like an arena deck. Priest with 4 spells? All costing 8+ and only 2 being "removal" isn't good.
I mean, i can see what you're trying to do there... But...
the idea is to have the summoner use the spells to summon high value minions and then the archivist plays them for free to get more minions and steal them from the other side of the board.
it's a tempo deck, has some stuff to shut down decks with low cost minions as well, and is too quick for cntrol decks if they don't draw the nuts.
I don't know a ton about priest, but I understand how spiteful summoners and the grand archivist works, and I have played tempo decks before so it should be fine. apparently it's easy to mess up as if you muligan wrong, you're dead, but I had to try a dragon priest out, and this is what I have the stuff for.
It's not original at all, I think it's a pretty popular archetype right now, albeit in a lot of varieties.
I wanted to play some dragon priest, and it turns out I can. I would have preferred a more grand affair with legendaries and a big control game, but this is what I have the cards for. Anyway I should probably not only play control, it's good to have different approaches.
thanks, do you think the acolyte is a good card then? maybe it would be worth getting 2 cabal shadowpriest as well to steal some minions, or would this not fit do you think, too slow?
I'd have to craft the 2nd acolyte, but I do think the card looks alright so not adverse.
What do you think about curious glimmerroot? They do seem like a good card for helping you scout out the opponents deck more than anything, but not sure on the craft for them. I mean maybe just getting one and trying it out would be the way forward.
I have 2 x twilight drakes already, so running a 2nd is no problem for me.
you have any thoughts on zola the gorgon in this deck to copy summoners or something like that to try and cheese out extra big minions, or is it just not worth it?
I just feel like it needs 1 legendary as the cherry on top, you know what I mean? I am sure the right synergy is out there somewhere and something could help give it a little twist.

Faerie Dragon is honestly not good, it's ok if you don't have anything else to play but it's not solid enough so cut those 2 and play a second Twilight Drake and maybe the second Acolyte. I'm playing the Keleseth version of the deck and it feels much stronger, for that one cut the Faerie dragons and tar creepers and play 2xCaptains, Patches and Keleseth. And yes the glimmeroot is a very nice card, it can only give you Class cards which are usually pretty good so definitely a solid option if you want to play it.

thanks man. I reckon I'll try with the kele=patches set up. 2x southsea captain did you say?
I reckon I may craft myself 2 x glimmerroot then if they are all that. you think maybe just 1 will do, or is it good to have 2 of them? I am not sure on crafting the 2nd acolyte as well though. Might have to try it out first and just craft 1 glimmerroot for it and see which card is better.
so you not think zola the gorgon would be good, neither?
I was thinking even medivh and 2 x arcane tyrants might be good for the deck. maybe the tyrants will be too slow though due to you not actually playing any big spells til archivist is on the board. You could use zola to copy an archivist or summoner though, so maybe she would be good.
doomcube has me with copying stuff on the brain. ha ha.

Yeah 2 Southsea captains is the way to go on the Kelly version and well as I said the Glimmeroot is a very nice card but I think I only play 1 o those in my deck, I'll check in a second and post the list here. Regarding the Medivh and Arcane Tyrant question I would say a definite no, your deck only has 4 spells and you're better off not drawing them at all and while yes you could get some power turns if you have the ateish equipped and then go for big spell into arcane tyrant that makes it so you have tou take out a bunch of good cards to fit this thus making your curve much higher and you will struggle a lot to earn that early game tempo which is one of the reasons this deck is strong, obviously the power turns are when you drop the summoner and the archivist but winning the board early is also important as this is a tempo deck, and for the same reason Zola might be good but there are only like 2 or 3 cards you really want to copy in this deck and they're all expensiv, so by the time you manage to play an archivist and stick it to the next turn to play Zola and then another turn to play the second one, it's likely that you either are in such a winning position already that's honestly not worth to even play the second one and you're probably either out of spells or you have 1 at most so playing the second one does absolutely nothing.

thanks. very insightful. I won't be using zola then, ha ha. any ideas what could work if I wanted to invest more into the deck? Most of my knowledge is in warlock at the minute, it always feels a little daunting when starting a new deck with a class you've not played before.
I mean as the list stands now (I don't have the singular glimmeroot yet) but I have everything else. I as thinking of trying it with the patches/keleseth package as I have those cards and 2 x southsea captains already.
You think there is anything else that is good for this type of deck? I seen there was another silence from gadgetsan maybe that was a 5 cost card possibly that seems like it might be useful right now as a singular card to add an extra silence. Obviously running an ooze could be good for facing cubelocks and such as well.
Someome bellow said bookwyrms which is a good idea.
I unfortunately dusted my curator though as I really needed dust for cards.
I'd recommend Bookwyrm instead of Cabal Shadowpriest. It has a larger variety of targets and helps you to have a dragon in hand more often.
The Curator could fit, maybe. Ysera, too. But if you are already thinking of crafting Zola, why not? It's not the most powerful card, but could be very usefull in your deck (unless it is just a win more card).
PS: Sorry for not linking cardnames, apparently I am to dumb to search for a guide on how to do it. XD So if anyone could help me out and give me hints I'd be pretty thankfull.
sounds great, I'll try the book wyrms out as I have those already. I dusted my currator for current cards though as really didn't think I'd need it now murloc paladin is off the cards for while for me. (I dusted barnes as well actually, but tbh those cards are gone soon and I don't really play wild) in fact I only have medivh left for karazhan legendaries as I use him in one of my control decks.
I don't think zola will be a good fit after obtaining some info in the comment above though, this is a tempo deck so requires quick plays in any possible legendaries. So probably the kele/patches combo is the best thing we have for it. Not sure if there is anything elose that could help with the deck more, but can play with what I do have.
Also toying with adding 1 or 2 faceless to my cubelock and then there is the option of giants as well that looks pretty nice. a lot of dust though so need to think carefully before committing. I already have the full umbra combo and taldaram in there, so maybe it's better to keep the list more balanced to putting out voidlords as well. maybe 1 faceless and 2 giants if I can fit them in, as also running n'zoth as well.
I do think taldaram will be enough for copying, at the most just one faceless, but not seen enough on how the giants perform to see whether they are worth crafting or not. I mean corridor creepers are probably just as good.

[card] card name [ / card ] without the gaps.
I think for card image you do [card-img] or something, then there's something to add for gold. I always forget that one. I'm too lazy to link the cards unless I'm writing a guide really though. ha ha.

Look, here's the deck I'm currently using and I wouldn't change it much honestly it functions really well and for me it's getting better results than the version with Historians and Tar Creepers, maybe playing the second Archivist is slightly better but I don't have 2 of those so I can't really test but that is the only change I would maybe make, the list is probably as refined as possible for the current meta imo.

If you want a fun, relatively cheap alternative that will really surprise the opponent and is fairly easy to pilot with consistent win rate, check out this list. Mini guide on the deck page if you are interested.
thanks man. I do need 4 epics for this though, so might not be able to play right away. Does look cool though. I have arcane tyrants though, so could I sub those in and just get the shadow visions for now?

Void Ripper and Shadow Visions both give the deck a lot more consistency. Most of the minions are high health so Void Ripper allows for some disgusting trades/finishers
yeah after looking at it.. this makes sense. maybe not too many skulking geist on ladder at the minute neither as everyone is teching silence and weapon removal.

Yeah man you're fine, if you face paladin, rogue or hunter just hard mulligan for this cards to contest board and shut down teir early game agression: Kelesth (this doesn't help but you obviously want him as early possible) northshre cleric, captain, corridor creeper and the most important one dusk breaker, that dragon is your winning play, every single minion that the said classes play until turn 4 has less than 3 health so that resets the board and you get a 3/3, and from there just curve out, your mid to late game is much more powerful with scalebanes, drakonoids OPs, summoners and archivist and from there bonemare keeps you extra safe as all your minions have high health, even if your hand is horrible, and you do nothig for 3 turns, hitting that 4 mana board clear just throws them off and completely disrupts their whole swarm and vomit hand strategy.
so looking at the cards I had, it seems I can build this relatively cheap priest deck.

This is the deck so far anyway.
it's a tempo deck, has some stuff to shut down decks with low cost minions as well, and is too quick for cntrol decks if they don't draw the nuts.
You could use zola to copy an archivist or summoner though, so maybe she would be good.
doomcube has me with copying stuff on the brain. ha ha.
I think for card image you do [card-img] or something, then there's something to add for gold. I always forget that one. I'm too lazy to link the cards unless I'm writing a guide really though. ha ha.
so you're fine with no taunts early game?
sounds good.
