Everyone is saying Priest is fine because it's only around in such high numbers because it counters Jade Druid. Which, in Standard, I'm sure is true. But in Wild, Priest is WAY more common than Druid is and way more oppressive.
Big Priest is much more consistent due to having Resurrect, and Lightbomb as an extra board clear.
Reno Priest is just straight up obnoxious. They have Reno AND Amara, so 2 ways to fully heal. They have top notch deathrattles from Naxx to use with the quest, and two ridiculous late game bombs (N'Zoth, with the aforementioned good deathrattles, and the DK). Even if you can play the grindy game, they just randomly bust out Spawn of Shadows and kill you from 20 or whatever. There just doesn't seem to be any winning strategy against this deck: you play aggro, they play Reno. You play midrange, they play N'Zoth. You play control, they play Spawn of Shadows OTK.
Look at TempoStorm's meta snapshot: they bumped Reno Priest from 17th place in the meta to 3rd in ONE WEEK. FOURTEEN PLACES UP IN ONE WEEK. What makes anyone think that there's nothing unfair going on here?
I said once and I´ll say it again: Priest is very powerfull, but it doesn´t have 5 decks on the S tiers list. druid is keeping Rogue and Hunter out of the radar, nerfing the class (without killing it) would make those decks come back and possibly cpunter Priest, specially with Hunter. Aggro/Midrange Hunter and Murloc Paladin jard counters Priest.
And even if I am wrong and Priest becomes the new Druid, this problem will eventually be solved with one or both options:
1) The new expansions: There are at least two more expansions before the next rotation, and Priest might get the shorto stick if it is so powerful while other classes get better cards

I don't play wild, so I don't know how priest acts there, I just think by myself that, when a class is strong against aggro and control decks, it should be nerfed, and this is happening for druid and priest, druids have big taunts and can ramp pretty easily, while they still have good board clears, priest just has a lot of board control and board clears against aggro, and their late game is stronger than any other deck in my view. I really think priest needs a nerf, I don't know in what, the class just seems so strong at everything that there's no card you could nerf alone that the class would still be really strong, druid can have small nerfs to make it less dominant.
1) Rogue has none archetypes greter than tier 4 (so very bad)
Elemental Rogue is near the top of tier 3. As it says in their report "The possible hidden gem of the KFT meta is Elemental Rogue. It’s been performing well since the beginning of the expansion and we maintain it merits more exploration."
Yes, Priest is tough .. but seriously .. where do you stop (or start) with nerfs? There is always going to be a dominate deck. The issue that has caused all the uproar with Druids is because their only real weakness is another Druid.
No, Highlander and big priest counter jade pretty well as does quest mage. The nerf party has begun, your favorite deck may be next.
Luckily I don't really have a "favorite" deck ... at least not that I play. Honestly, I would play Hunter if I found a good deck I could ladder with, but for now, I flip around between aggro druid, evolve shammy, murloc pally, and demon control warlock. I know I'll probably never make Legend bouncing around like that, but I'd rather have fun in the 15-10 bracket than just grind away with a cancer deck all day.

I wanna glide down, over Mulholland I wanna write her, name in the sky I wanna free fall, out into nothin' Gonna leave this, world for awhile
I said once and I´ll say it again: Priest is very powerfull, but it doesn´t have 5 decks on the S tiers list.
Tempostorm put 5 Druid decks in tier S because they wanted to make a point, not because all 5 of those decks actually belong there. Jade Druid and the two Token Druid variants are really strong, Ramp Druid is decent but doesn't seem tier S material, Malygos Druid is hardly played in practice.
Also Barnes will rotate out. Unless new cards fit into the deck, I don't think Big Priest will still be playable in Standard without Barnes and Y'Shaarj.
Priest is not even considered broken, if u really suffer againts priest, try to counter him with 4 attack minions, he is not the class that cannot be countered
I know he can be countered, but he still very strong even if you 4 attack minions, priest just beats almost every class.
Yes priest is tier 3. But look also the table, against who priest has his unfavorable matches? Druid. So he will grow a lot in win rate after the druid nerf. It is strong priest very strong. I think he will be in tier 1, like now the razakus priest version with reno in wild is tier 1.
I'm looking, and all I see is after Druid nerfs Pirates and Murloc Paladin will be Tier 1. No priest issues.
Then you don't understand data. For pirate war was 50/50 and for Murloc paladin and easy match.(check better the tables) If someone will take advantages will be the priest that has a lower win rate against druid.
I'm looking at the matchup win rate chart. It clearly shows Murlocs and Pirates will be strongest if the Druid nerf is strong enough and the only real counter is Token Shaman. Priest will have many counters. I don't know where you're looking or what you're talking about.
I am playing hunter most time and priest is not problem untill theyyy have perfect draw.. Just play wise... if you have 4 attack beast dont buff them, dont let on board combination of minions which can be both at once destroyed by potion of madness, if you are playing DK try t ocombine miions with taunt and 4hp etc... you can counter them very easy
There is only 1 expansion before rotation. When the second one gets released all the cards are already gone. But yeah, a lot of strong priest cards will be going. Raza and Kazakus will be gone, Dragon Fire Potion will be gone too. Priest will lose a lot of things, so will hunter, shaman and warlock, these 3 classes will be left with virtually nothing good depending on what we get next expansion.
they often do nerf a few things at once, though druid kind of feels like it is at the power level shaman was around karazan times. They may be scared to nerf anything other than the best class in worry that the meta might just still be the best class, but nerfing decks bad against druid is probably not too big of a deal in that regard. So I think it is possible that they will nerf priest along with druid, but I don't think priest is as good as you seem to. the issue with priest is that it and jade druid are like opposite ends of the control spectrum. Any decks that beat priest lose to druid right now.
That makes me wonder if priest will still be pretty meh after nerfs, because a bunch of other decks that also beat it will rise up when druid no longer crushes everything. Just wait and see how the meta turns out.
edit: Oh by the way midrange paladin similarly has a bunch of counters that lose to jades. In fact rogue and non-pirate warrior seem more likely to me as candidates for the top dog after druid nerfs if the nerfs work.
every time there is a deck that some people can't get or can't beat, always will be cry for some nerf? in theory druid will get a nerf like sh*t, everyone stops playing it. then maybe priest get it because that will be a top tier deck. then let's say handlock will be the total ruler of the meta. then everyone start to cry for a warlock nerf? okay i get it druid is op as hell. but every time we have an op deck as hell. patron warrior, pirate warrior, secret paladin, face hunter, aggro shaman, midrange shaman, oil rogue..... it's just so frustrating that the cry is the solution every time when a deck or archetype is going to be popular. instead of figuring out counter decks.

The 1st step towards a better game is firing Mike Donais! We had enough of his "skillful" balances!
Why people complain about Priest, Priest is one of the worst base basic and classic cards in a class compared to other classes, just because Blizz give them a solid DK hero, which has a good synergy with raza does not mean is totally broken, yes they can kill you in 1 turn is true, but just to reach that turn you need all the combo cards in your hand you build the game to reach that point, is not a brainless fucking face pirate which just go face with minions and play weapons and does not care about trades, NO is a control deck with a win condition, and the win condition requires also skill in order to kill the opponent in 1 turn or almost kill them.
So stop crying Priest need a nerf cause raza decks requires skill and knowledge about how to play your cards since you only have 1 copy of each one. If you complain about a control decks you clearly are a aggro slave who hates to see how a control deck wiped your board with control cards .... each deck has different strats and clearly the raza deck is a full control deck built to reach the late game and kill you, so you have a lot of time to punish him or just be punished if you deck cannot win against him, any deck can't win against all decks, every deck has weakness, I won some matches using my raza just by top decking something that saved my ass, and sometimes I totally control the game and sometimes I just lose, that is the RNG of HS so deal with it or looking for another games which suits your desires.
I actually have no problem with Highlander Priest, at least every game is different. Big Priest on the other hand pisses me off immensely. Sure it doesn't have an insane winrate, but it's one of those really brainless gambling decks. Good RNG, guaranteed win. Bad RNG, guaranteed loss. You play the same cards over and over again and hope you get lucky, no thinking required. I think it actually requires less thought than Pirate Warrior if that is even possible.

Its fangs are in your flesh before its hiss leaves your ears.
Golden Heroes: Druid -> Rogue -> Shaman -> Hunter -> Warlock

2) the standard rotation itself: when the next standard cycel begins, Kazakus, Raza the Chained, Porion of Madness, Y´Shaarj, Rage Unbound among ohter will be wield only, and with this, Higlander will be no more and big Priest will get a big hit.
Maybe... nah nah nah nah
I've never seen murloc pally as a tier 1 deck. A high 3 at best. They can be strong but someone with good clears has one top decking fast. GG
Elemental Rogue is near the top of tier 3. As it says in their report "The possible hidden gem of the KFT meta is Elemental Rogue. It’s been performing well since the beginning of the expansion and we maintain it merits more exploration."

The same can be said of Jade Druid. In the rotation almost if not all of the jade cards will cycle out then. So why not nerf priest now as well?
If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
No one cares that you're too bad to vin vs priest.

i think the real question, is do we need to nerf qq threads
Priest has never been Tier 1. It is now, get over it, HS is allowed Tier 1 decks just like it is allowed Tier 5.
