i honestly just think 1/2 taunt poison snail will be broken for priest and their early game. It clearly has potential if it gets shield or talon priest buff to sink most 1-4 drops.
yeah priest is most probably dead now, but remember that we will have 2 more expansion later this year. things could really change and no one can tell until then.
next expansion looks very spellish (from the art for it at least)
I think priest/warlock/mage will see some extra love there since all 3 really didn't see amazing deck building options for this set and lost reno for their kazakus decks. the last set will probably cater to pally and rogue. Warrior will probably see not much love, just things thrown sporadically about for them to dilute the pirate warrior decks over the next 2 sets while shaman will just ride the new cards they got with elementals and jades, same as druid.
(basically we all knew un'goro was going to cater to hunter which happened so we'll have to see)
I keep seeing people say 'oh Priests will be fine, they'll have an increased chance to discover Drakonid Operative with Historian now!'. You can't base an entire deck on that one card. Twilight WhelpWyrmrest AgentTwilight GuardianAzure DrakeBlackwing Corruptor, that's the first 4-5 turns of a Dragon deck removed. After that, all you have left is spell cards, Operative and end game Dragons.
Wouldn't listen to trump about card review and meta predictions he thinks too one dimentional.. he said priest sucks, giving all priest cards one, but he doean't know decks might mix cores..
Also said that the most brokencard of the expansion, time warp won't see any play.. hint: it's an insane card.

Someone will do something dumb like mix dragons and elementals perfectly and then midrange will be back z.z
Something as simple as this can be annoying for the meta. You either get 2 more drakonid Ops or like a ysera or something for huge value and I'm sure you use servants to get more blazecallers. early game is just obnoxious with heavy taunts and snails. Could see it working, especially if your northshire survives or your snail gets good trades with health buffs. (obviously lacking in dragons and probably actually main decks ysera)

Yeah. At first glimpse of Time Warp, i thought: "hmm... didn't catch me. Looks underwhelming"
Then after DisguisedToast's "Interactions"-Clip i thought:
"Waaaaaait a minute, so that's how this works? Ooookay, i've to reavalueate this!"
And i think it's a bit broken, because you can't protect yourself against it. TTK incoming.
You know it, but you can't do much but playing a lot of Taunts every Turn until they play Time Warp.
You could pull off Minios with Dirty Rat from your Opponents Hand, but besides "Mind Vision",
I have some good news if you're worried about Priest being dead. There is a new expansion coming out, TODAY actually! It's called Un'goro. I'd recommend letting the new set come out and seeing how the meta goes, because Priest could end up being pretty good. Who can say, now?

Going face so the mage does not have time to finish the quest and assemble the combo counters it pretty well. I believe it takes even longer than Jades to really get going, and it has very few tempo plays along the way. Also, deathrattle taunts with N'Zoth, the Corruptor can cause headaches for giant quest mages
I feel that we might be underestimating priest a bit, because priest can quest with very low curve minions and maintain card advantage. Priest will run 6x deathrattle cards that provide cards (shades, loot horders, new elemental). They also combo with the new turtle and barnes and rez effects.
Also, they can run a very low curve flood the board type deck and still have late game threats via card steal. In a control v control match up they are going to pull 6+ cards out of their opponents deck.
In addition, they have access to one of the few big board clears. A board clear big enough to wipe out ele shaman's board.
Also, we are all underestimating the negative effect of losing a card in your hand to quest and lack of reno against aggro. There are going to be a lot of face decks.
I think we are going to see a priest deck with Nzoth, dragonfire potion, and nothing else over 4 mana. A very low curve priest quest deck is going to beat face decks.

I mean, you get the same affect by running the ele package (tar/ign into tolvir, along side tortollan) basically really good on curve taunts on turn 3 and 4 which will guarantee you make it to the mid game with more than 20 health. I can see a lot of midrange decks just running the elemental package just to stave off the aggro decks and have a good curve.
Priest with Deathlord and Velen's chosen and Elize was quite a good deck esp. agaisnt aggro decks. These cuts hurt them a lot.
I think Elise was the card that made the deck work, because you could've teched heavily against aggro and have Elise to be able to win against control and midrange.
Maybe. I have a feeling either an elemental/spell hybrid priest or a combo priest (which got a ton of nice tools) will be the best ones. But whether they are good enough to be playable? Who knows. Also there is obviously the quest priest, but I am unsure on that one.
Amara is basically a better Reno without needing the no duplicate rule. We all saw how strong reno was, to the point it was the sole reason for highlander decks for a long time so there is potential there as well. Tortellion is a great defensive card to help keep you alive as well, plus helps the quest, however the 2 attack is meh. On the other hand, Tar Creeper into Tortellion is a great defensive 3 and 4 turn.
I would Trust Kibler over Trump. While Kibler hasn't really placed super well in most tournaments, Trump is much more of a casual streamer player without the background experience in CCG's.
The deck won't be good because it loses its anti aggro cards, but it is much better in a slow control meta than Quest Priest. So if Taunt Warrior slows the game down, Dragon Priest answers that. If face is the place then Quest Priest shuts it down.
After watching the first theories by my favorite streamers Kible and Trump I am a bit confused who is right about this one. Obviously, Kibler is an obsessed Priest player and will most likely try to make the new Priest archetype work somehow. However, will he pull that off or do you think Trump's statement about Priest being literally dead for the next 4 months will prove to be true?
If you go by what Trump is saying 2/3 of the expantion is completely DEAD!
Ya I stopped watching Trump awhile ago, he doesn't know what he is talking about and is much more of a casual player than a competitive one. Hence why his Tournament record has always been horrible when hes tried to play in them.
Dragon Priest withstanding (as it was a completely different feeling deck from most priest builds), priest hasn't really been good for some time now. Kazakus priest decks were ok, but weren't quite right for the meta.

That's what I am talking about, dragon warrior came from tempo warrior which used mainky classic and wotog it takes people a while to try underused cards
it depends on what you define "dead" class Priest isnt tier 1 or 2 : Yes .Basically this is cycle of HS,some deck can be really good in previous meta but when new set come they vanish because other class have better card Priest wont see play : i dont think so . Even in darkest time (Karazhan) Priest still see play with some deck like purify (i know this is meme deck but it viable because 4 mana 7/7 statue),resurrect ,nzoth control...

Yeah it would be, but i guess, that the only really viable N'zoth-Priest would be in Wild, due to Dark Cultist, Sylvanas Windrunner, Deathlord, Sludge Belcher, Velen's Chosen, Vol'jin, etc.
You never know who may be secretly working for the Cabal....
Not gonna drop one tear if that class is dead. The only one I don't have in gold yet. Boring af to play as well as to play against...

Drakonid Operative helps a Control shell of Dragon Priest stay alive, along with Book Wyrm and Netherspite Historian.

It's not dead, it's just not so obviously broken anymore.
