I like Reno and Deathrattle Priest as much as the next guy, but the Circle of Healing , and Lightbomb variants of Control Priest were always my favorite.
Elise the Trailblazer also has synergy with Shadow Visions , this small combo can give Priest some much needed card draw, that being said, it is pretty random, and the average power of this play will depend on the average power level of Un'goro as a whole.
What are everyone's thoughts on this? Overall I'm super exited for Priest this expansion! :D
I am excited for this new type of "card draw" in Priest. It gives much needed consistency to the other Priest Combos i.e. Inner Fire Divine Spirit and Cirlce combos. Interesting card but we'll see

That's true, any combo oriented Priest will benefit greatly from Shadow Visions.
Depends on where jade stands. It's certainly excellent value in a slow control game, however all the value in the world wont win you a control game against jade druid.
I personally feel if any control deck were to beat Jade, it's Priest. I obviously don't think you would be favored, but Priest has some very powerful potential starts with Injured Blademaster , or Kabal Talonpriest.
Can you outvalue jade druid who can summon 2 30/30 jade golems every 3 turns (1 golem per turn during 2 turns then no golem every third turn) with solely one jade idol in hand and no library ? Well then no control priest.
Guys, the existence of Jade Druid is not automatically going to mean that Control Priest will not come to rise again once this expansion comes out. If anything, Jade Druid is much less of a problem than Pirate Warrior because if Control can't properly keep Aggro in check, then Aggro will inevitably dominate the entire meta. Control isn't supposed to counter Midrange, it never was-it just had to deal with the face-heavy decks.

You can copy one or more Jade Idols. All you have to do is save a Thoughtsteal for the endgame.

You guys think too little. What about using both versions of Elise? Open a pack! Didn't get any legendaries? Play that Golden Monkey! NOW YOU HAVE FIVE!
i play reno priest and jade druid and never seen a golem 30/30..you win with control board no for put cards in your deck... if you play on curve and put presion jade druid lose against every deck because druid doesnt have good remove spells... stop overcrying iam a control player and i win so many games to jade druids... this type of deck promove proactive gameplan and that is good for the game

You do realize that the guy with the bigger jade golems tends to win?
And that is probably going to be the guy that actually played a jade deck and has his jade counter at 12 before you play your first thoughstolen idol.
What I realize is that I've beat Jade Druids many times with a non-Reno Control Priest. It sounds to me like you haven't even tried, and I wouldn't blame you because it's not a great deck for the meta. But it's fine in this matchup. You don't steal just one Idol. You also Entomb Aya and sometimes get lucky stealing a second idol, so you're really not that far behind when it comes to the Jade race. Besides that, your massive healing is usually enough to let you catch up.

That would be great if control priest comes back. there is already alot of interesting things in this expansion...but i fear it will all be oppressed by the current meta. Im hopeful thats not the case, but i am a realist, and i havent seen anything in this expansion yet that is on par with jades in terms of power

Sorry if that might sound harsh, but i don't believe you if you tell me that you actually ever "outjaded" a jade druid.(or maybe it was in casual, i don't know) The Problem is there is no catching up when you both just summon your jade idols. A 11/11 Jade golem trades a 10/10, and lives to trade your 11/11 aswell. An advantage of a single jade counter would win if you ever hit that game state.
Also, i did play alot of priest, especially last season. The druid matchup was very clear cut. You need to get boardcontrol before they go through their entire deck, and have to keep pushing for lethal before you inevitably lose the board to the golems. The slower i tried to approach the situation the worse it got, as the amount of hardremoval i have is limited, and the jade golems are not. The greedier you build a priest deck, the worse it fairs against jade druid(infact you could say that about pretty much any deck)
Do you use Dirty Rat? That's an important card I forgot to mention. I use two, and it utterly destroys their jade count if you play it at the right times.

It can also utterly destroy your game. This is for people who would bet cash and play russian roulette
It's a VERY safe bet. Worst case is Auctioneer, and that's a very slim chance. Since you are very likely to lose anyway if you don't rain on his jade parade, not using the Rat is far riskier.

This just means you need a win condition, Jade golems are honestly not a problem for control decks if you have a win condition... Jade Idol is just a bad card though
Not to mention not everyone plays jade decks. Jade druid just have a favorable match up against control because they physically can't go into fatigue which these decks rely upon to defeat their opponents

I really feel like Shadow Visions , along with Elise the Trailblazer can bring this style of Priest back.
Shadow Visions can fetch you Circle of Healing , which can make the infamous Injured Blademaster + Circle of Healing combo happen more consistently on curve.

Jan'alai the Dragonhawk
i just wanna take a Shadow Visions from the Un'goro Pack made by the first Shadow Visions and repeat the process.
