I prioritize the Injured Blademaster over the Shattered Sun Cleric. So I will let the cleric die over the Injured Blademaster.
The Injured Blademaster is a perfect candidate for a Power Word : Shield because if he gets silenced, his max health pool is 7 so it is most likely that he won't lose much from the silence.
Sometimes a turn 1 Northshire Cleric works, and sometimes it doesn't. If you are going to play one on turn 1, make sure you have the cards to back it up (Power Word : Shield, Shadow Word : Pain, etc.)
A lot of the time I prioritize the use of Shadow Word : Death over Mind Control. Reason being that you might not be able to use Shadow Word : Death on a target and you would've wished you had a Mind Control for it.
Early game, let's say you draw 2 pain cards and no minions, would u use ur 2 pains early to kill the first 2 3 mana 3-4 damage minions opposing you before you can actually drop?
Early game, let's say you draw 2 pain cards and no minions, would u use ur 2 pains early to kill the first 2 3 mana 3-4 damage minions opposing you before you can actually drop?
You can't use Shadow Word : Pain on 4 attack minions.
To answer your question: It depends. If I didn't have any minions in my hand, then I would probably pain the minions that they put out since you cannot get behind.
Right about the 4 damage minions i worded it wrong, I'd like to thank you for this deck i'm not masters 3 from diamond 1 in 2 hours after changing my last deck to this one, i don't have Velen but honestly i don't think it's needed as late game is covered by your big 6 guys and 2 mind controls
I'v lost twice tonight (both times they were at 2 hp and used lord jax and won) more often then not the early minions with a good hand of wave clear finishes the match in 7 turns.
I usually am able to safely drop velen in the very late game and by the time I am able to play him, the opponent has usually used most of their removal spells meaning they are going to have a tough time getting rid of him. He is usually dropped when I have already put down most of the minions in my hand (sometimes earlier, depends on what the other player does). I tend to use it offensively when I have board control and defensively if I'm a little low on HP.
He's really good when you have board control, because if they mistakenly put out a bunch of minions, you can just holy nova and kill just about all of them. You can also heal your minions back up after taking huge hits.
He's really good for outhealing your opponent's damage too. A lot of times I would have died if it weren't for his power.
So basically I feel that the best use that I've gotten out of him is dropping him in the late game when you feel it's safe for him to come out. This doesn't necessarily mean to wait for all the fireballs, polymorphs, assassinates, etc. this means that if they had the opportunity to use a removal spell on one of your big creatures and didn't, then they most likely don't have it in their hand and then it's probably a safe time to play velen.
This was one of the games that I played a couple days ago (was messing with the decklist, that's why there are yetis in the screenshot). They were trying to burn me down just from the use of spells and stalling the game by freezing my minions every turn and using ice block. This didn't work so well because I put velen (he's the sheep in the screenshot) down and started healing myself each round. If I remember correctly, I ate a pyroblast, 2 fireballs, 2 frost bolts and 2 ice lances (some with spell damage and some without); and some damage from their minions. I ended up outhealing the damage and they didn't have enough cards in their deck to do that much damage to me (1 card left in their deck).

Since more and more players play it safe, and only have 4 or less attack minions, my priest decks usually play: 1x Mindcontrol 1x Shadow Word: Death 2x Holy Fire (plus Novas etc.)
Breaks the curve a bit, but nothing a priest couldn't handle. Holy Fire is really evil if Velen stays a full turn on the board.
I used this deck as a base and changed a few cards. I have lost very few games.
I took out Twilight Drake x2, Prophet Velen x1 and Spellbreaker x1 and I put in Circle of Healing x2 and Iron Beak x2.
After playing with COH for a while, I really love it. The deck excels at pumping your minions up to survive trades and with COH you can heal them right up at the end of your turn with no mana forcing your opponent to use hard removal. It also works really nicely with Injured Blademaster (3 mana for 4/7) and also by combo'ing with Northshire Cleric. If you can drop a Injured Blademaster and a Cleric in the same turn with COH you get 5/10 worth of creature and draw a card for 4 mana, which is just ridic. The fact that COH heals ALL minions can be used to your advantage by healing your opponents minions as well as your own for a massive, free draw.
I don't own a Prophet Velen and I often feel that Spellbreaker is too clunky to play when you need a silence. The deck has a ton of removal already and Ironbeaks just make silence much more accessible.
I experimented with taking out the Oozes and replacing them with Amani Berserkers, but it never really seems to work out well. I think Oozes might be the best 2 drop available for this deck, but I will try Fairydragons before I go back to them.
Thanks for the deck suggestion - it made 3*Masters really easy to achieve.
Hi there, I'm new to the game, and have tryed buidling this deck, all though I have around 5-6 cards missing, I simply add Divine spirit, Inner fire, Gurubashi Beserker and it does fine.
I havn't done any "ranked" games, but I have to ask the question, why wouldnt you add in divine spirit/inner fire or crazed alchemist combos? It is an extremly nice combo to have no?
Also with ur deck what do u do when you draw 2-3s shadow words in a row? Close to game over dont you think? In the 2-3 turns the oppenent can easily build the board control that it's very difficult to overcome, cause everything you counter, your always playing a catch up game no?
The Wombo Combo is nice if it works, but once you reach higher leagues with your deck, it gets countered way to easy. It is one of the reasons priests are considered "too strong" in lower leagues, and "too weak" in top league.

Once again I am new, and I am willing to learn :)
The problem with combo decks is those cards you mention are dead by themselves. Also that deck is an aggro deck which is too easily countered by control, which is what winning Priest decks are.
About your current attempt to emmulate. Also this deck is just a template really, my successful version doesnt run Argent Commander, Twilight Drake, Prophet Velen or Temple Enforcer. Its a matter of opinion and experience, but I dont like cards such as Twilight Drake and Temple Enforcer - whilst I havent busted Velen open yet and I my deck would trade similar cards for Argent Commander. So get the backbone: the ability cards and Northshire Cleric, then create a good mana curve which buldges abit to the right of centre and I am sure you can feel out what you are missing.

Nozdormu wins you every game where you opponent has to go to the bathroom on turn 9.
At the moment im just "practising" But I'm wining 3/4 games. I added sheild bearer when you go 2nd its a ncie combo with the inner fire (think thats what its called that levels DMG to HP.
Early game can get over wealming when you dont get low gem taunt mobs. Sheild bearer has really added something to my early game. It's just an extra combo that can help in different situations. Especially if you cant draw them novas.
But I am enjoying the game with the priest, looking forward to ranked games to see how my deck holds.

I win consistently in 3 star masters with this deck.
Any feedback would be appreciated. I will also try to answer all questions.
This deck is probably going to get retired for a circle of healing deck.
I'm still thinking about adding holy fires to the deck.

I've played Priest to about level 30 but I'm only diamond 1*. I pulled Velen out of a pack yesterday and put him into my deck alongside Ragnaros.
How are you getting your best use from Velen?

used this deck and went 10-2 not bad I really enjoy it thanks.

Trying this deck out, dont have Velen so I put Ysera in.
So far im 4-5 vs lock/hunter/Mage/Hunter/Priest/Priest/Mage/Shaman/Warrior
I do not, sorry.

Hmmm ok, well I'm lacking like 2 injured blades, 1 twilight drake, 2 argent commander, 2 azura drake and the prophet Velen.
They are all key cards to the deck, I added my combo in there, yes it dos get countered, its a good idea to just 7/14/28 KO the opponent.
I really dont know what else to add in the deck without them 7 cards thats better than that combo any ideas?
