You guys are missing one of the absolute essentials for IF combo: crazed alchemist, 2 in fact. They go great with your shadow word removal in a pinch too. I've tried confuse before, with the idea of having a decent board, healing them with circle and divine spiriting buuut it kinda sucks.
Overall I think the damage otk is better for priest. Really not hard to pump out 30 damage in a turn. Playing against warrior is an absolute nightmare though
Not missing the AOE clears much, against Zoo the Taunt minions are very good. Against other decks you are fighting for board control. And not really have place for AOE clears in the deck.
Faerie Dragon is indeed a bit strange, but I need another dragon, and other dragons are expensive.
If the combo PW: Tentacles, Divine Spirit, Inner Fire works it wins the game. But using only one PW: Tentacles because it is slow.

Why dragon sorcerers and not Twilight Drakes? I would think that your hand is pretty heavy most of the time :) Or are they used to trade into stuff and help with the board control, since u canbuff their attack as well with targeting them with any spell?
Dragokin Sorcerer are very good with all the spells that target minions, and your hand won't be very heavy. You are fighting to control the board, it is not a Control Deck.
I'm really enjoying the deck and I hope people try it. I have to admit I'm not playing at higher levels and frankly I wouldn't expect to perform that well, but hey who knows. Its my first real homebrew deck that feels decently functional, and its pretty satisfying when most of your wins are punctuated by your opponent "Wow" emoting.
In a C'thun deck or dragon deck, you get a bunch of pieces that aren't immediate remove threats, which if they survive a turn, could become amazing sucker punches.
For example, you play twilight drake on turn 4 (4/7 or 4/8), and the opponent simply goes face. You can cast Devine spirit twice and then inner fire on turn 5, and inflict between 28-32 damage. However, this assumed you played no cards or were able to get card draw off a NSC.
cthun decks offer more unsuspectable sucker punch threats, like vek'lor's twin or the minion that buffs C'thun with each healing. At the same time, C'thun priest is very decent for control while you collect Devine spirits and an inner strength.
I would also promote crazed alchemist over inner strength, unless you have Djinn in the deck. The assumption is that you are going for the kill stroke, and not simply setting up to drop faceless shamblers to copy the buffed minion like a new hand lock. Crazed alchemists are more versatile and in a pinch they can wipe out flametongue totems or make Ysera an easy removal

I wouldnt say that Crazed Alchemist is necessarily more versatile, Inner Fire can be used to buff your minions attack to allow him to trade and get control of the board and u wont be sad to use it that way, since it wasnt your main win condition anyway (at least in a dragon deck for example). Crazed Alchemist would just help u trade 1 for 1, which would not be ideal. And if u go for finish, u dont care if u get a 2/2 body or not. I get that Alchemist is a cool card, but i wouldnt probably run it over Inner Fire. Mby together in only Inner Fire deck, but not as a tech choise in other decks.
The crazed alchemist will make a 4/10 twilight drake a 10/4 drake. or it can help you handle agro shaman, which is a big part of the meta now. That's my reason for including it.

Well i dont run twilight drakes to begin with in my dragon priest, but i agree it can be quite good vs shaman to flip flametongue etc.
Yeah Crazed Alchemist as an alternative/additional piece of the combo is an idea worth testing.
I"ve tried both C'thun and Dragon variants for the same reasons listed above and they are both pretty decent, although I wasn't able to refine them as well as my current deck.
Part of the problem is that in my opinion the neck needs a TON of draw/cycle to function, and its hard to include all the cards you need for that with the C'thun/Dragon packages. Unfortunately outside of Azure Drake those archetypes dont feature any built-in card draw so they're not helpful in that respect.
But yeah, my original idea was to have it be a fake C'thun deck, because C'thun decks are so linear and predictable that it would kind of trick the opponent into thinking 'oh another crappy Cthun deck' and then suddenly the combo hits.

Update decklist and some thoughts on the minions I've chosen are posted here:

So what you do, is just go to rank 25 then it works Kappa
