Well guys, I've just created a new deck guide here. I'm an average guy, so don't expect nothing fancy.
My friends urged me to post this because they all liked the deck. It's a pretty basic priest, a mix from C'thun & N'zoth (C'thun for the +10 healing girl + Twins) and N'zoth brings that extra value to win Control Matchups.
The deck got me from rank 15 to 5 in a day, and since i know i'm bad, that means the list is good, right?
This is a great question, SchruteBucks, and the answer is absolutely YES. No doubt in my mind.
I've won countless games close to fatigue due to saving N'zoth for last.
Remember we can extract two high value minions out of the Museum Curators on control matchups (because we don't need to fix our curve so badly at the start).
And also, the other high value deathrattles will be obtained by Entomb (We should always Entomb Tirions, other Sylvannas, and even Cairnes. We denie that value to our opponent's N'zoth, while buffing our own.
In the deck post there is a video, i suggest you take a quick look! I win two matches against warriors, and both of them i was saved by N'zoth.
Yeah, if you play too many trashy low mana deathrattles it can actually lower your nzoth's quality, or worse if they draw cards it can cause mill. That said, shifting shades are really nice. Perhaps its good to cut those in a meta dictated by shamans though since winning turns 1 through 5 are so important(so they dont just beat you down with a doomhammer while they wait on a rockbiter)
Wow, I have all these cards except N'Zoth and about 2100 dust. I'm REALLY struggling with my Zoo deck right now (both because I'm not a good player and second I feel like it's countered pretty hard right now on the ladder). I might give this a try, but everyone is saying Priest is in such a bad spot right now. I've always loved Playing Priest, what's your take on the current state of the class?
Also, if we add deathrattles, we have to remove some C'thun buffing cards, and in the current meta, we can't risk not having him 10/10 when we play Darkmender.
N'zoth just gives us a second chance against control decks, since C'thun normally is not enought to finish them by himself!
Thanks for you comment!
@jebron: I was struggling just as you to climb from rank 15 onwards for the entire month. With this deck i finally got to rank 5, and pretty quickly, due to the huge amounts of shamans, hunters and zoo's. Warriors are actually a great matchup for us (except for pirate warrior that can kill us way before we stand a chance to fight back).
Sometimes not even a defensive deck like this can resist the aggro, but i sure had something like a 70% WR against that kind of lists.
As for the state of the class, now that i'm rank 5, things are a bit harder, and i feel like maybe it's not tier1. We for sure are not as strong and consistent as tempo mages. Also, miracle rogues can crush you no problem (Concealed Gadgetzan is a absolute NIGHTMARE for this list and for the class as a whole).
TL:DR: We are for sure viable, and the Dragon Rattle list is VERY strong (and expensive), but there are other lists stronger then us right now!
Thanks a lot for your comment man, cheers! If you guys don't mind taking a look at the video (and maybe subscribe =P) i would be very happy! Anyway i think you can have a lot of fun watching the SMORC's conceding after you drop the Darkmender =3

Well obv a well timed N'Zoth is crucial in Control Warrior matchups (after you've baited both Brawls), but I think if were ONLY running 3 deathrattles, I'd rather have Shifting Shades over Curators, since at least some of the time you're not going to get good choices with Curators.
And some games you can't rely on Entomb = Deathrattle.
edit: That said, having all these cards I'm not going to NOT try it out. =P

Nice man! Good to know you are going to try it! Please let me know if it worked well for you. As for the Curators -> Shades trade, keep in mind that the Curators have more flexibility, and finding a lower value deathrattle helps us correct our curve against agressive decks (sometimes we need a 3 drop so badly, and the shades won't help us there). But you have a point.
I'm going to craft N'Zoth, the Corruptor and give this a shot tonight. My only question is with a lot of Battlecry's in the deck, would Brann Bronzebeard fit in at all, or would it be sacrificing too much C'Thun buffing or card draw?

The very first version of this deck did have Brann in it. The problem is, while there are a LOT of battlecries with huge value (like healing for 20 with darkmender) and potential to card draw an such, Brann ended up feeling a little slow. He does not stay on board against aggressive decks, and you will not be able to wait until turn 8 to combo him with darkmender, for example. He shines against control, late in the game, when you can save him to drop right before C'thun, or before Curator to find double value; But i just did not feel he was necessary. It's worth a try tho!
Priest is great on ladder now to counter the Aggro decks - given that you have many ways of removal as well!
I'll take your decklist for a spin. :) Currently playing N'Zoth Control Priest on ladder at Rank 8 currently, so I'll be sure to come back with some results~

I've added Brann to the deck just for the 20 health heal, which has saved me numerous of times in the few games I've already played. He is also insane if he manages to live on the board till you drop N'zoth or C'thun, which happens sometimes in control match ups. Other than that I've been trying out Justicar which in my opinion contributes well to staying alive.
Nice to know man. I might have to add him back and see how it works for me. The first time i did i admit it did not went well. Unfortunately, i don't have justicar, but i'm sure she would really make the deck stronger!

Not gonna lie, I'm not doing very well with this deck. I've won vs Beast Hunter pretty much every time....and lost most other games.
edit: actually I don't know why you call this anti aggro. It's pretty awful vs aggro.
I'm sad to hear that man.
Well, i was wrecking pretty much 80% of the aggro decks with this list on my first climb to rank 15 - 5 (when i decided to create the guide). I really was. But today was a bad day (lost a lot of matches vs. aggro decks), and then i stopped for a bit, and started winning again. I've got the feeling that if we don't draw an Excavated Evil and/or a good curve things become very difficult. I really don't know if the first time i was killing aggro decks with ease was just luck of drawing well.. or if today i am being unlucky and drawing the answers too late.
Since the manacurve is pretty well balanced, i think the second is more likely. I'll try this deck more, and now i'll take notes and make at least a manual statistic to see if it really is underperforming against aggro.
Sorry that you are not liking the deck very much and thank you for letting me know of that problem. I felt that myself (today) but then i recovered.

I've even made a video (with some fun highlights and basic guide). If you don't mind taking a look, it is on the deck post below:

This is my very first post so i hope i'm not doing anything wrong by sharing the deck here.
Thanks everyone! I'll be happy to answer any questions!
Just 3 DR minions? Have you found that N'Zoth is worth it?

At the time i was running only one Twilight Elder. Included the second one!
I'm loving this deck so far. Five games played, won the first 4 then lost this game 2 turns after the screenshot was taken... I hate freeze mages...

Good to know you are liking the deck man!
Freeze mages sometimes are a pain. I've lost one game just like you did in that one. Keep grinding man!!
Hey! I saw you added the Shifting Shade and Brann Bronzebeard! I honestly really like the Hooded Acolyte, I feel it's got more consistency than the shades... Is having them for N'Zoth, the Corruptor really worth it?
