Should [card]Power Word: Tentacles[/card] really cost 5 mana? Velen's Chosen was 3 and you got +1 spell power, but 2 less health. 4 mana, maybe, like Blessing of Kings. But 5 mana??? Seems a bit much and I don't think I'll ever play it costing this much.
I think it costs that much for the crazy amount of Health it gives to a class that wants high health minions. Still I wouldnt mind if it was at 4-mana since it's also a common (arena purposes).

Heath is worth more than attack on minions and this would probably be broken at 4 mana. I think it will mostly be a combo card. Power Word: Tentacles + Inner Fire is a 6 mana 6/6 buff (I dub thee "Blessing of Old Gods"). If you want to go really crazy you can Power Word: Tentacles + Divine Spirit + Inner Fire for ((Minion health*2) + 12 damage) to face for 8 mana.
I think Blizzard is very wary of putting powerful buffs after nerfing silence, especially those that buff Health a lot, because you're not gonna be able to trade them away so easily, especially with a priest backing them up.
In general, the good buffs historically have been vanilla stats -1 for their mana cost (Blessing of Kings and Velen's Chosen being the best examples). This fails that test by a full mana's worth of stats. The silence nerf has been oversold. It will still most certainly be run in decks that benefitted from it before. The fact that this is one mana overcosted and does not have a beneficial secondary effect (spell damage, draw a card, etc.) makes it trash tier, not to mention that spending your entire turn 5 to add a whopping 2 attack to a minion is a total waste of a key turn.
It's not OP so as not to be an auto include in every Priest deck. I don't see what the big deal is. Some cards that are printed have to be lower tier and very situational, and PW:T happens to be one of them.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
It's overcosted, but with C'thun priest I often have board control and excess mana, but the opponent keeps playing minions at awkward numbers to kill efficiently, so it's nice to have a source of instant damage while still developing stats on the board. At a certain attack value it no longer matters - there's not that much difference between this being 4/6 or 2/6 for trading purposes, just you can't then go face. The real hit though is in spell damage, really missing those 3-damage holy novas. Probably bad, but going to test it a bit more.
But probably we come from Velen's Chosen wich could have won you the game straight. The thing that i miss the more on that is the spell dmg, it was just insane

I've been playing Bloodmage Thalnos for spell damage, and bonus you get card draw.

Nope, it shouldn't. It's a horrible, overcosted card. Next topic?

You pay 1 extra mana for the awesome name.

Looks weird to me, indeed.

The end is coming!
Would see a lot more play at 4 mana or if it gave +3/+6. As it is I might draft it in Arena but I can't think of any reason to include it in a deck.

That's a lot of stats with Charge.
