I put this deck together after I had finished forging together all my priest cards. I really wanted to see, just out of curiosity, how well a deck that uses most of the priest cards would fare in ranked. I was so pleasantly surprised! This deck got me straight to platinum 1 so far, with only 2 losses.
Almost every single game, it seems like I'm losing for the first few rounds, then I gain card advantage and with my heals+control, I come back and win the game! I thought this was just a fluke the first 2 times, but after numerous cases of this happening (against every class except Paladin so far) I am really seeing the potential in these cards. ESPECIALLY shadowform and prophet velen. These two cards have won me more games than any other card I've used so far in Beta. I just focus on removing the opponent's creatures while healing my own with minion battlecries, and then do the damage later once I have my opponent top-decking.
I'll try this deck tomorrow. IT's interesting and i'm curious to see if this deck has any burst. On my pally deck most games end by turn 5-6 and prophet is turn 7, it will be interesting to see how this deck can compete in master ranks against decks like kripp's or spell damage decks...
Yes, please do. I wish I had a firmer grasp of exactly why this deck is doing so well. I guess it's just the mid-range control/table turning potential, and having a reliable source of damage each turn with shadowform.
P.S.
I just won another game exactly as I initially described, vs a shaman! He got full-board creatures out with murloc tidehunters and pulled Bloodlust, whittling me down to 2hp. I wiped him with a holy nova, then through lightwell heals + earthen ring farseer heals + voodoo doctor heals, I managed to barely survive his lategame damage while pinging his totem summons with shadowform. I'm really starting to gain confidence in this deck.

does lightwell deal damage instead with soulpriest ? how does it work ? does it damage yourself, the enemy, or does it still heal you ?
Lightwell + soulpriest is bad for you. It will damage either you or your own minions.
