Doesn't seem that much synergy apart from with legendaries. You could get 1/1 taunts, a 2nd Cleric or Brann (though his ability doesn't stack), and they're all minions unlikely to survive a turn unless you're well ahead. I think it's better for inspire or deathrattle decks maybe... As a turn 9 play with NC plus hero power is decent though.
Ysera, Rag, Sylvanas and Cleric are literally the only cards profiting from Volazj. Apart from that, you will mostly die before you can only play any of these, because your only removal is 1x SW:D and 1x Entomb.
For Volazj decks, either aggro flood (mostly in wild) or Inspire is the way to go (Saraad, Paletress, Kodorider).
I think divine shield isn't worth it on a 1/1 body. In standard there is no velen's chosen to buff them anymore and in wild you'd rather copy shredder and nerubian eggs.

Volazj has more synergy with Velen and paletress. Combo priest lives
