I can't think of why these two cards would've been removed, they could be really helpful for surviving through early game but don't seem innately OP/UP. I didn't play Hearthstone when they were around though, so I don't know how good or bad they actually were at the time.
Fade = 2 mana; "Give your minions Taunt. Draw a card."
Prayer of Fortitude = 1 mana; "Give your minions +1/+1. (+1 Attack/+1 Health)"
Very interesting cards... I've never seen them before. I assume they are both for Priest, and I must say they would probably help the Priest meta right now.
Fade sounds ridiculously OP. it would be great even without the card draw. i could see it being a 4-5 mana card if it ever comes back.
Well Sunfury Protector gives two minions taunt and is a 2/3, all for two mana. If you remove the 2/3 I could see taunt for all minions for 2 mana. With card draw maybe 1 mana more, so 3 seems ok.

I think 3 mana would be fair. Obviously this has potential to be a VERY powerful card - and one that would really help priests out in current meta - but at the same time it relies upon you actually having minions on the board, so I don't think it would be TOO powerful. I would love to see it come back.

I don't think either card is inherently OP in its effect. the mana cost might need to be adjusted, though if you compare sunfury protector to fade and PoF to the druid card that either gives you a 3/2 or +1/+1 to everything, they actually would seem to be fairly costed.
Interesting little tidbit, Sunfury Protector used to give taunt to all of your minions, not just the adjacent ones. At that time in the development stage, Fade was perfectly on curve since the difference was a card draw for a 2/3 body (basically a river croc). Personally, I like the change to making it only affect adjacent minions because it allows you to protect certain minions whereas Fade would've only been useful for protecting your life total.

EDIT: Removed broken images.

Going to have to agree. Both in FF and in Chrome I see nothing, but broken pictures. Need to fix it if we are to see them.

I see them in Opera. :), they are Fade and Prayer of Fortitude.
Unless explicitly stated, my posts are my opinion and mine only.

I know fade got changed into shadow word death and I think PoF got changed into Holy fire
Greater heal was changed into Holy Fire.
Thats right. I can't see the pictures of cards so i was just guessing : (. What did PoF do again?

Prayer of fortitude was removed because it is basically the same as power of the wild without the choice of the 3/2.
The other one was removed because warrior would be burned to the ground

They actually nerfed sunfury it use to give all your minions taunt (well not a nerf but a change for the better imo)
Oh jeez, I didn't even realize. My apologies, I guess this is what I get for posting on a windows 8 phone. @SpeakOuT
