Any thoughts on how I could improve this to maintain a balance and better combat rush decks? I've not got enough dust yet to get the legendaries of choice at the moment but can craft something for 400.
The downside of playing paladins is their 4 mana heavy spellkit. This results in the well known mana cliff instead of a nice looking manacurve, and bad draws means stalling your hand. Even with those tiny 1/1 you can play in addition to anything, you always feel wasting mana. I played a stalling paladin from rank 12 to 9 (though with some help of tinkmaster, sylvanas) without any silences. Usually I was able to just trade the board clear, so the 4/3 and 2/1 bodies were more or less useless. I added 2 Farseers instead. Blessing of Kings is a good card, but I alwo would switch it out for something less silenceable. Most of the times you don't need +4/+4 to resolve a trade, and the +2 from a dark iron dwarf is good enough. Sure, +4 Health may result in a surviving minion, but trading while keeping a 4/4 on the board? Why not.
The pyromancer definitely is a great addition to count up the possible cards to combo with equality to five.
Again, these are suggestions based on my experience in a rather short playtime. Ranked alternates all the time across the ranks, so your meta may and will vary.

Thanks for all the thoughts - very insightful. It is clear the meta varies across the ranks so trying to take a top ranked deck won't necessarily work at the lower-mid ranks.
Diakron - I accept a certain amount may come down to my play and there is always an element of "luck of the draw" in card games but I moved from 25 to 13 without any issues and it's only then I started getting caught out by rush decks.
You guys are great, i'm still stuck at rank 19, how can you create all of that rare card?
I mean, i can afford 1 arena per day so i don't open so many bags, i'm really trying to improve my deck but i don't have the cards..
I have only half (or less) of that cards
Hi Betan - nothing special about how I got the cards. I went the old fashioned way of buying card packs. More than happy to pay for a game as fun and engaging as Hearthstone.
So I've been running this deck for a little while now but have started to get difficulty with rush deck opponents.
I'm currently yo-yoing in the rank 13-16 area and bar a couple of games where there was some outstanding top-decking, they've been pretty standard.

Current fun deck: Yogg-S'Thun Stone
I would replace the raiders with Wild Pyromancer

Going to test out the swapped out Bloodsail Raider for the Wild Pyromancer and also swap out the Blessing of Kings for Dark Iron Dwarf.

Revised deck now looks like this:
Current fun deck: Yogg-S'Thun Stone
