Hi all, am I the only one to have big issues with Libram Paladin against Bomb Warrior ? I really can't see how to counter it unless to put some ooze in the deck..
You just do the exact same thing you do against other opponents: place minions on the board, make them big and hit them in the face. You can't stop them from disabling your pure cards so try to pressure them as much as possible. Don't go all in immediately. Create some mid sized threats to bait their removals. They have tons of ways of dealing with your stuff but you can still apply a ton of pressure and the damage from the bombs should come very slowly (unless you are really unlucky). If you have any of your Lightforged Zealots in hand by turn 4 and they haven't played Wrenchcalibur, you should play them before they are disabled. Lady Liadrin is your only refill so keep in mind how many buffs and Librams you played before you play her to get as much value as you can. Bomb Warrior came into the meta as an answer to Pure Paladin and Highlander decks so don't expect to be favored.
If you are playing a non pure version then you can use Kobold Stickyfinger to steal the weapon from them but they are going to inevitably shuffle bombs in your deck. The only thing you can do is make the most out of your tempo cards and buffs and pressure them. Libram/Pure Paladin is too much of a straightforward deck and it doesn't have much room for different strategies.
Since your already pure you could try teching a Wyrmrest Purifier, it could screw your pure card untill you draw it but when in hand its a perfect counter to bomb.
As a pure paladin player, it's honestly a really fun matchup that tests how well you know your deck and the opponents. I constantly keep a mental track of the big removal spells they play, and always hold back enough that I will be able to generate more threats while still baiting out removal. Honestly the biggest thing I've found is always play around bladestorm. It can be tricky to do sometimes, but I have purposefully not played optimally just to make sure I have big guys after a bladestorm. The button also makes the matchup sometimes frustrating for them, completely ruining their bladestorm sometimes.
I saw it on HsReplay but I really can't win against them..maybe I'm doing something wrong (trade too much or stuff like that). In the end of the game I always have 4/5 bombs in my deck disabling my "pure" package
You could always stick in Lightforged Blessing. It would give you 4 spells for additional healing with Lady Liadrin. Other than that try to keep a 1 health dude on the board to play around bladestorm. They don't generally run silence so you can be pretty carefree with buffs, but you sometimes want to hold off just make sure you can get your Libram of Hope from Liadrin.
The non-pure version should indeed be favored. It creates relatively wide boards of cheap minions that are robust to Bladestorm as they have different health and cheap enough that Brawl is not an issue, it has enough healing with 2xLibram of Hope and probably 2 more later from Lady Liadrin and infinite late game damage over many turns with the Pen Flinger. Includnig a copy of Lightforged Blessing makes the matchup even better. But in general you can often kill them quite fast, if you play your threats in the right tempo they should run out of removal. Play your big taunts (Aldor Truthseeker, Devout Pupil, Libram of Hope) together with 1-2 tokens so that they are protected from Bladestorm, once tthey run out of Coerce and their Lord Barov turn, they can no longer deal with your big threats
