Going Pure is a trap. The only card that is really good in the archetype is the Truesilver guy. The 7/7 really isn't worth going pure, specially when Pyromancer is the absolute nuts with Libram of Justice and even Libram of Wisdom. A War Golem that does nothing on board feels bad. Specially since there's a lot of garbage still in the Paladin pool.
No Pure can go for a long game, and then maybe Erkh + cable rat package for later can pull some work, who knows. It's bad that the dragons it got are mostly memes.
The Pure version was more aggro, and you can go that route no Pure as well.
The problem with Paladin, that I see, is, that with every expansion, they try to fit a new "theme" onto us. "Oh, Murlocs is you thing now" – "no, wait, it's dragons, but slower than all other classes" – "secrets? Nah, no secrets in Outland" – "Books, there you go. But don't expect more books to follow".
Every expansion, it's the same. It seems, as if Blizzard themselves don't really know, how to make the class viable AND diifferent form others. The result is a weak mix of Priest and Warrior, which by design makes sense, but just isn't fun in a game, where you have to compete against all others. It feels like all the other classes just evolve with each expansion. And for Pally it's back to start every few months.
And I hate Murlocs :D
I'm trying something with Nozdormu and Kael'thas. So far it's doing okay, at about >50%, depending on match-ups, but when you compare to other classes, Paladin is weak. The synergy is just missing.
People complaining about secret paladin are literally retards. Yes, it was OP, but it was years ago, while priest gets new OP deck every two expansions. Mech paladin is not good deck and never was. Stands no chances against any control deck and in every other matchup is coinflip
Not confirmed, but seen as likely, judging by the history of shoving new Pala themes in and then ignoring them next expansion in favor of something else.
I've been playing paladin the whole fkn day stuck at rank 5~4 diamond.. murloc paladin, pure paladin, highlander paladin, libram paladin with kael'tas, murloc with divine shield, i've crafted junk like Nozdormu the Timeless, and I can't fkn get this stupid class to work :(
I'ts my favorite class, Murgur Murgugle was the first golden legendary that I crafted.. RIP
I legit put in the effort to get Arthas as a Hero. grinded 2 days for him, I thought pally would finally get some good and cool stuff that fits the class. I mean I mainly play Warlock to climb but paladin was always my 2nd class and honestly except mech pally I don't see any other viable deck, and we just lost that one to the rotation. I hope we get some nicer cards in Year of the Phoenix, some cards that fit Paladin and help boost his class identity. I mean we got Murger, but seriously? Murlocs? Not that I hate on them my nickname on battlenet is legit "BlindMurloc" I LOVE THEM but holy ... do they frustrate me with the wierd decision that paladin should be a Murloc class after all that "Class Identity" stuff they wrote a while ago.
They went in the good direction this update with the Librams and the Legendaries, we got some good cards for the class. And as people said above they are just "Good" not broken. Which isn't quite enough to make the cut, I have yet to try the libram pally deck, but I sure wont be crafting it any time soon, since all I see on ranked ladder is , DH, Galakrond Warlocks, Rogues, annoying Priests.
They should probably give pally the same treatment as with priest, and get him a new basic set, maybe some classic pally cards too, to help with the class identity and boost his strenght. I think the main problem with the class is that they have somewhat weak basic cards compared to the other classes, and with the other issues it just makes it a bad class to play in general ( IMO ) .
I think Paladin will shine next expansion. They got a decent set of control tools with Librams. Value and a great tempo card with the Pure Paladin cards. Now they need just one or two cards that do crazy thinks like Togwaggle or Galakrond in some classes.

This is exactly right. Paladin needs some broken nonsense like Togwaggle or it just can't compete. If you give DH massive card draw, and rogue zero cost cards (!), and other classes at least decent card draw, how can Paladin compete? It doesn't even really have a late game win condition. It has good cards. But that's just not enough.

It's confirmed that there will be no more librams?

the trouble with paladin is his basic set, so many unplayable cards, it needs a rework as they make it for priest

This space is intentionally blank.
Oh I miss tarim. Such a fair solid and strong legendary.
Murloc paladin seems to be showing some preliminary promise. We'll see if it holds up.
