Let me preface this rant by saying Paladin is all I play, I just hit 2000 ranked wins with the class and I've been playing since Pre-Nax. Having said this I can say for certain that it is the worst class in Hearthstone, and has been for way too long, not in terms of viability but in terms of fun even during the rare times it is playable
I'm so sick and tired of paladin not having either removal outside equality or a viable late game value-generating effect, and NO the new legendary weapon isn't nearly as good as other classes value effects. The class is unplayable as a control deck and a bad murloc agro deck after the nerf to Warleader, it's like Blizzard doesn't even listen to its players.
Bad early game? Don't worry here's a 2 mana 2! "Um blizzard we need more for Paladin early game can we mayyyyyybbbeee get shielded minibot bac-" DID SOMEONE SAY 2 MANA 1/1 Diregultch Jailor?!. Oh btw we're giving every other class better late game and board clears then you but its ok because you have suuuuuucccchhhhh good legendaries they'll make up the difference.
I have come to the conclusion that not a single person at Blizzard plays Paladin. Because they make the class teir two/three, but not just teir two/three, but unfun teir two/three as well. The class is boring. Theres no random Lyra the Sunshard effects to spice up play, no (anywhere close to viable) OTK like mage, nothing to make any game different from the last. You do decent if you curve well, and thats it. Secret paladin was a boring curve deck, murloc paladin was a boring curve deck.....annnnd thats all the paladin decks that were ever viable. Midrange paladin was a masterpeice of a deck by blizzard, and it was the most fun I've ever had with the class and probably in the game. The quest was bull, the DK was too slow, and now we're stuck as a class with great and interesting legendaries with no support for them.
My recommendation? 2 cards:
2 mana spell, give a friendly minion divine shield or deal 3 damage to an enemy minion
5 mana 4/7 dragon, Taunt, only you can target this minion with spells and hero powers.
Of course, these cards are broken and overpowered, but then again look at Raza with Shadowreaper, the mage quest, or hey JADE ANYTHING. Blizzard needs to stop pushing stupid, bad, and uninteresting themes down Paladin players throats, like healing or recruit cards. The best decks kill you before you can heal, there are so many board clears in the game that your 1/1 recruits die instantly, and there are enough silence /removal cards to make it so buffs are 100% useless. For gods sake people are cutting spikeridged steed in decks and you give us Lynessa Sunsorrow?! Do you even play your own game blizzard?!
It's sad to see my favorite class hit rock bottom from the downwards slope its been riding since GVG, but here we are, the worst paladin meta ever. I'll see you all next expansion with crossed fingers.
And no, I'm not being pessimistic about the new meta, I'm being realistic. Whatever comes out on top, it will beat paladin, because EVERYTHING beats Paladin now.
my response is the Tempo loss you get when they do silence it, yes there is a lot to silence but against say a Raza Preist, if they stall long enough you won't have time to play out all of your threats. That and throwing all those silenceable targets ups the mana curve, which you need with paladin to have any kind of success on the ladder nowadays.
you think the class is boring after 2k wins pakadin is my most played ckass aswell but it just keeps bringing me back, SHR paladin is quite powerful in wild you could try it there, also you blame blizzard for not trying other archtypes (why are "boring") but they do try different stuff just this expansion paladin had 5 themes going on- healadin, quest support, further handbuff support(weapon) more shr support, and swarmish/divineshield support(new buff card and call to arms)
call to arms is one of the most powerful cards of the expansion, not only it brings you a board, but it has some interesting uses.. like bringing doomsayers and dirty rats or just deck thinning.
5 mana 4/7 dragon, Taunt, only you can target this minion with spells and hero powers.
The one they have now is an epic, and it's a 4-mana 3/3. They would never allow this to exist with those stats/cost. And why can't you just be happy with the unicorn like everybody else?

New expansion hasn't even been out for 24 hours yet...
I'm having a lot of fun with Quest Paladin. Sure it sucks to get silenced or your minion you put a lot into. But often time if you get to the late game, very few decks can deal with multiple Galvadons or Lynessas. Here's my current list.
2 Adaptation 2 Blessing of Wisdom 2 Divine Strength 2 Righteous Protector 1 The Last Kaleidosaur 1 Desperate Stand 2 Equality 1 Potion of Heroism 2 Primalfin Champion 2 Wild Pyromancer 2 Aldor Peacekeeper 1 Wickerflame Burnbristle 1 Zola the Gorgon 2 Blessing of Kings 1 Consecration 1 The Voraxx 2 Spikeridged Steed 1 Sunkeeper Tarim 1 Lynessa Sunsorrow 1 Tirion Fordring
I'm debating on cutting something to add in Dire Mole or Firefly. I really want a tougher creature on T1 more often than not. Getting to 10 mana gives you so many great tempo plays. Lynessa + Zola, Voraxx+ Spikeridged, Tirion + Desperate Stand. The more I play the deck, the more I love Zola. Zola is has allowed some pretty crazy turns.
With that much Paladin wins, you should know there is also Handbuff Paladin out there, who is very strong right now.
It's not difficult to hit Legend with it, if you play the correct cards in your deck. And the new Paladin weapon is definitely helping this archetype a lot.

Imma point you to the whole part when I said obviously "these cards are broken and overpowered" just theroycrafting some cards to make my point on how much help I think the class needs.

Sorry, but either you're the dumbest person there is or you did not express yourself correctly. Paladin is all you play and you say its the worst class in terms of fun? So that means you don't want to have fun then...
I mean, why wouldn't anyone do the things that are least fun...
...but it also means that by just playing Paladin, you know that the other classes are more fun... How could you know that without playing them?
Every site which tracks the game has Paladin as a top-tier class in both formats - Murloc Paladin was 0.5% behind Tempo Rogue on the VS live page yesterday, while Dude Paladin has enjoyed win-rates in Wild between 56%-58% since Un'Goro launched.
Move this one to the salt thread? The OP already admitted it was a rant, to his credit . . .

Right? I gave myself 3 options of what deck archetype to craft (not Paladin) for the new expansion, ultimately deciding on Casino Mage when I knew full well the others I wanted would likely perform better on ranked. Why? BECAUSE IT'S FUN.
The new expansion is here, they added support for several archetypes, decks that were bad (Quest, HandBuff, Dude) can possibly be good now. Try them out and if they fail, try out Menagerie Paladin
Potion of heroism isn’t bad. That’s about the only good card this expac for paladin though :(
Its kind of a shame because it’s my second most played class and I also got Val’anyr as my free weapon. But playing paladin so far has been an experience in futility because you just get face stomped by priest. Although I imagine that’s probably the experience you have with most decks trying to play ladder right now.
edit: Call to Arms seems like a good card as well, I just haven’t figured out a great way to use it yet
I'm doing rather well with my control pally, and they picked up some solid cards. Being a frequent pally player, you should know better. I would just try another class.

Alright thats my rant, Discuss
To Arms Men!
Murloc pally isn't bad, it's one of the best decks in the game.
Sure, pretty much nobody plays it - but that's another issue entirely.
I think you are just bored of the class. 2000 games is a lot.

I'm struggling right now too, and I have also logged 1000s of games with Paladin.
I really want Lynessa to work. And Val'anyr.
Thus far I have not figured out how to make it happen.

Sorry, but no complaint about class tiers is credible within at least the first week after release, possibly even 2.
I mean, look at Hunters. All they got, beyond usual Midrange is Spell Hunter, yet they are theorycrafting about it.
PS: have you ever considered Wild?
To Arms Men!
So you have over 2,000 paladin wins and say it's your favorite class, but you hate all successful archetypes of the class except for midrange paladin?
Play a different class then??? I seriously don't understand....
Also, play wild. Classic midrange recruit paladin is tier 1.
Agree 100%. I'm playing priest/ shaman main but was hyped for pala so I insta crafted the weapon and lynessa.
Homebrewed a div shield/ buff deck incl. every pala legendary beside rag. and dk
Guess what I got rekt badly: 11:17 w/l at rank 15
Aggro rushes you down and control reks your board with no effort.
Feels bad man...

Beasts: Dire Wolf Alpha, Stampeding Kodo, Dire Mole, Spikeridged Steed, Bittertide Hydra
Dragons: Cobalt Scalebane, Twilight Drake, Faerie Dragon, Nightbane Templar

It looks bad but it plays well, it fights for board and hits the opponents with something they don't expect
