So yesterday in Omni/ Kibler commented that only the last few days he won a match thanks to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (4HA), in a non-exodia manner. Seeing how rare it is, I wanted to share a match I had 2 days ago where I won thanks to the 4HA, and if it wasn't because of them, I am sure I would have lost that match. So a small tribute for their work.
It is a Hunter vs Paladin. I run a Curator/Corpsetake/Control package. He runs a midrange hunter with Deathstalker Rexxar. Its an easy start, I can control all he throws at me, and by turn 6 he is at 30 health and I am at 26. So all under control. He uses his turn 6 to turn himself into Deathstalker Rexxar.
Still, things seem pretty equal. I Spikeridged Steed, which gets Ironbeak Owl from a Zombeast. He starts to build a solid board, but I have my tools. And I Uther of the Ebon Blade on Turn 9. Which further helps me to control his board. And with that, it becomes a DK fight.
Unluckily, it is very hard to outvalue those zombeasts, and thinks start to turn a bit south on turn 10. As I can't out value him, I take the decision of pushing face damage. I attack with my weapon to his face and leave him with 11 life, while I have 32. I have another Grave Vengeance charge, a Consecration and a Spikeridged Steed. If one of my two minions survive, and there is no taunt, I have lethal next turn.
But I made a huge mistake. I did not read his zombeast. I left a 5/5 Zombeast from Kindly Grandmother and Bloodworm. Which meant, he had a 5/5 lifesteal. And that meant my plan for next turn lethal was useless. I realized my "Disappointing" mistake as soon as I did it. It only got worst, when he Bonemare the lifesteal card. All chances of getting lethal soon are gone.
But all was not lost, I had yet not drawn an Equality, and when I got it, could get a nice board clear to build from. So just needed to win time. A turn 13 Doomsayer that goes off, helps a lot on that department. So while bleak, my chances are some. It allows me to take back the board, and my health is a solid 25. I still have Tirion Fordring and The Curator in my deck, and two more possible board clears.
Turn 14. He drops a 5/13 taunt Knuckles, with no answer to it. At best I just hero power a second Horseman on the board, and I have a Getaway Kodo on board, which was meant more to get back Ivory Knight and get Equality for an extra board clear.
Darion Mograine is returned to my hand, which makes me think that without an answer to Knuckles, 4HA is an option for victory. A second Ivory Knight gives me a Desperate Stand, which goes directly on my Inquisitor Whitemane, but then I roll a second Darion.
Worst, Houndmaster comes down on Knuckles. With 7 attack and taunt, he has control over the board, and its starting to seriously threaten my health. But then, he makes one lethal mistake. The Desperate Stand makes the opponent prioritize the rest of the board, and leaves Inquisitor up, and kills the second Darion instead. With two Consecration and a Wild Pyromancer I clear his board. By Knuckles, just at 10 health.
Then comes a charging 7/6 Zombeast, leaving me at 3 health. I draw Stonehill Defender, and its turn 17. A taunt is nice to protect face and my Horsemen. I also get from it an MVP Frostwolf Grunt. Play him, and its roll time. If its Darion again, it looks bad. But I roll Deathlord Nazgrim. As long as he has no direct damage, and can't kill any taunt from hand, I can win this.
And then the miracle happens. He can't reach my Horsemen. He can't hit my face. Its turn 18. I drop my Darion, hero power Thoras Trollbane, and just like that. I WIN!
Anyway. Long story, hope at least one person enjoys it, but had to do justice to the match, seeing how rare it is. Thanks

Cool story bro!
However, you can always do it more consistently
I had one yesterday, but I'm using Mayor Noggenfogger.
