So for the past week I've been running a Midrange-type Pally deck, trying to get those sweet 500 wins finally.
I (probably way too late) realized that Ragnaros, Lightlord was a completely dead card in my deck. In 90% of my games, by turn 8 I've either won or am so screwed I should probably concede anyway.
So, out goes Raggy, and in comes Eater of Secrets. Why? Secret Mage, Secret Hunter, and (to a lesser extent) all the damn Paladin decks out there. Most of the decks I played against last night were one of those, except for that group who keeps playing Quest Rogue. I'm almost considering yanking out Tirion Fordring for a second one. After all, I can usually get a Tirion from Stonehill Defender and as I said, by turn 8 the game is usually decided.
Facing 4 secrets? Drop this guy and it's rage-quit-win almost every time. I even had two people give me the friend-and-salt treatment post-game. Seriously, I think last night my win rate went up 20% just with this one change. For Quest Rogue it still comes down to whether you draw the cards or not. :/
But you surely have the time to post 2 useless messages insted of actually trying to discuss about the topic.

In my expirience, Eater of sectrets is a good card against the actual secret mage, and even playable against paladin since most people play Hydrologist, but isn't really that helpful in any of those matches unless the mage decides to play 3 or 4 secrets at the same time, which has never happened to me.
Secret eater is one of the strongest tech cards in the game, I'd you're facing enough secret based decks it's a no brainer really.
The tempo it creates is unreal. 1 secret is a 2-6 mana swing basically depending on the class you face. 2-3 secrets and like OP said it's game. And the secret tempo mage is gaining traction in the current meta and hunters are more common.
Ehm, I don't know about you but I really don't meet many secrets on ladder. The hunters I meet don't run secrets, the paladins I meet can get them from the 2/2 murloc but that's not reliable enough + one paladin secret isn't even that much value. And sure, it's generally a good cards against mages but it really only feels like a tech card against mage which isn't that bad of a matchup anyway.
And against the majority of matchups, when your opponent doesn't run secrets, you have a 4 mana 2/4 which is AWFUL.
I run.2 of that card in my pirate warrior instead of the taunts...works great against mage n secret paladin but suffers against rogue token druid etc. It's a trade-off that you got to play smartly with

hello
Nice tech idea, going to give it a whirl today!
“Put your faith in the Light!”
Why not the Mystic? Stealing ice block is way more rage inducing!
Mystic not in standard

Removing Tirion for a tech card ? lul
Tried it, didn't face any secret for 10 games. :(
