Hello guys again, this expansion brought back my favorite and main class to high tier, and I have been playing with the control/midrange deck since its release. I used Trump's version and got from rank 8 that I was when the expansion launched to rank 4 and then from rank 4 to rank 1 with my build which has some variations from the previous deck. Here's the list:
Unfortunately I have dropped back to rank 3 and maybe I will go back to 4. I have around the same win rate against most decks, nothing is favorable or unfavorable. It always depends on the start of the game. I am not sure if the murloc variant or The Curator variant is better or if I should just keep up with my deck. And if it's curator which beasts are the best? Stampeding Kodo? Golakka Crawler? Nesting Roc? Lightfused Stegodon? Hungry Crab for mirror Matchup?
About the murloc/curator decks what I have a problem with is the lack of Doomsayer/Dirty Rat and more AOE, and this had me thinking.
What I find weak about the Lost in the Jungle and mainly the recruits is that it is easily wiped out from warriors with either Ravaging Ghoul or Primordial Drake and stuff like that. On the other hand Vinecleaver is pretty usefull against the RNG-Heropower. Maybe Fire Fly could help to replace the 1 drop?
Midrange lists have a 50% WR against them all. No bad matchups, no good matchups. This is what you are experiencing currently, meaning a big losing streak and then a big winning streak.
Right now, the Paladin deck that has the best WR against those, is Aggro Murloc.
Here's what I'd play (and probably will be playing in my second account to climb)

Aggro Paladin Deck

I messed alot with currator around , but until you dont play the murloc package i wouldnt play currator at all . Its just too many mediocre cards to make him valuable . I like your list actually but im no fan of Forbidden healing and Vincleaver they are just too specific against certain classes. Same with the beasts , i thought about all the beast some of them are too specific some are bad ( Lightfused Stegodon). Kodo is the most versitaile one (but its realy close between him and the Roc).
My list looks also like a mess , but it got me out of the legend dumpster a bit :) http://imgur.com/a/HvdpF
I've been grinding hard for legend this month with Paladin exclusively (primarily Handbuff, deck in signature). I made it to Rank 1 5 Stars then went on a brutal losing streak down to 4, so I totally feel for you (I'm working my way back up now).
Aside from that you just need to tech based on what you're losing to the most. Hungry Crab helps the mirror, Golakka Crawler helps Pirate Warrior, and 2x Dirty Rat helps against Quest Rogue. I've found that silence (i.e. Spellbreaker) has been a very useful tech against Priest and even in the mirror to deal with Spikeridged Steed. The Black Knight is also a fun tech for Taunt Warrior and even the mirror (for Tirion Fordring or the taunts off of Stonehill Defender) but it's very meh in other matchups.
I've always prefered Lay on Hands to Forbidden Healing because I find late-game draw very helpful to sustain in control matchups but it's up to you.
Best piece of advice I can give is settle with a decklist you're comfortable with and stick to it. I made the mistake on my losing streak to swap a lot of cards around to make it better and it made the streak way worse. Just remember that the list you have took you to rank 1, so it can do it again. So if you make tweaks to it that's fine, but once you've done them try to stick it out, keep it calm, and take breaks if you feel yourself getting salty.
Thanks for the help guys, got legend today with an ease. From rank 3 to legend 2-3 loses only. The deck stayed as it is, only added 2 Hungry crabs to eat some murlocs MRGLRGLGLGLG
rogue might be tough. Wipe their board, dont overexpand on t6 because of vanish, Tirion fucks them up, get them low enough so they wont be able to attack with face to destroy his divine shield. Mage is tricky, get them to 1 hp and use an eye for an eye. ALWAYS keep a heal for after alex. Ivory Knight combined with an Aldor works, You can also count their burst, they have double freeze, double fireball and 1 pyroblast. if you get below 10 hp, heal. If they use alex, heal, and taunt up. If your heal is Ragnaros and you have lots of damaged minions use equality so he will heal your face. I did this lots of times.
on rank2-rank1 you will see ALOT pirate warriors and freeze or valuecontrol mages. Looks like any idiot thought that this is a guaranteed chance to grind legend fast with few lucky matches :) So I would recommend you to place more heal (second Ivory Knight or Forbidden Healing are good, you can even remove one Spikeridged Steed ), that will make mutchup against any mage as 90%+ in your favor. Gluttonous Ooze is really great for all top rank meta too. It is great against pirates, mirror, value mages, not bad against tauntwar or hunter sometimes. I recommend remove one Acolyte of Pain There not so much situations where paladin stuggle of empty hand now.
And personally i dunno if Doomsayer is really great here... Yes, it is "standard de-facto", but i nearly never draw it on game start when needed. And in late game it is good only with Dirty Rat or other taunts combo. Or put it right after board removal with equality to get free turn, but this is value for midrange matches. So for now on legend I'm playing with Lost in the Jungle and 2x Mistress of Mixtures (but I'm playing Nzoth version at moment)

Got legend yesterday man, I swapped 1 Acolyte of Pain for 1 Ivory Knight and added 2 Hungry Crabs for murlocs. Last matchup was a pirate warrior who still had me on 25 hp when I dropped Tirion. I was always between either 2 doomsayer or 2 dirty rats and I prefered the first option. Gluttonous ooze seems though a very good addition though. I am interested in playing an N'Zoth deck now, I wanted to play with that at first but I kept a midrange form for climbing.
I always feared mages but I almost always win them. Got 3 in a row on rank 1, medivh version. Always kept a heal for post alex, equality + ragnaros on turn 10 t heal face then win win

Congrats! I just hit legend with Paladin by swapping in 2 Hungry Crab as well. It's just so powerful in the mirror.

Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you are my only hope

In your climb you are going to face:
Quest Rogues
Pirate Warriors
Midrange Murloc Paladin
Quest Warriors
Freeze mages
Midrange Paladins
Silence Priests

Skipped a Steed and Finja from the classic twist, to tech for Golakkas.
Yo !

From what I've played and faced, "The Curator package" in Paladin (6 card minimum of 1x The Curator, 2x Hydrologist, 1x Primordial Drake, and 2x Beasts from Lightfused Stegodon, Stampeding Kodo, Gentle Megasaur, and/or Nesting Roc) is very strong in a midrange/control build and I'd personally reccomend it. I prefer 2x Stampeding Kodo if you're only running Hydrologist as your murlocs since they are very versatile, but if you have more murlocs Gentle Megasaur is better for the swing potential. Lightfused Stegodon is only worthwhile if you have 1x Vinecleaver in the deck. Nesting Roc I've found kinda underwhelming, so I'd only run 1x max.
