So i got an idea for a paladin deck that i think will be extremely viable, and maybe tier 1. if not, definitely tier 2. With new cards like Zoobot, Menagerie Magician, and Nightbane Templar, in combination with less new cards that never really became viable such as Vilefin Inquisitor, i believe that the paladin zoo deck is finally viable. The Nightbane Templar is the main card that put the deck over the tipping point, without it this idea is probably better in Warlock. The theory is that you play a collection of mediocre zooy beasts, murlocs, and dragons, that then work together to maintain board control. Other cards i thought of playing include Midnight Drake, Knife Juggler, Eydis Darkbane, and Azure Drake. I also considered a second Menagerie Magician, however i think that that would be overkill and be too clunky. Im far from positive that this is the best list, just my idea. What do you guys think? Here's the list.
I dont think this deck is good at all, but im sure it can be made good by removing some of the synergy cards. Nightbane won't work well because your more likely to have dumped your had to get the battle cry effect since your onyl running low lvl dragons. Two vile-fins is overkill and warleader is a dead slot
Stick with Dragons and Murlocs, beasts just dilute the synergy and you don't need all 3 for Zoobot etc to give value - even one minion buff is good value.
This is ok but I don't think it's going to be competitive - my guess is we'll see a slower more mid range type emerging and that will probably do well.
The deck is a good idea but needs a lot of work. Need more than just chucking a bunch of good cards together.
I think this is actually a pretty interesting concept. I didn't even think about Vilefin. You probably need some more dragons and definetly replace Hungry Dragon because that card is garbage. I think you might be on to something. Now, is this something overpowered? Probably not. Is it tier 3-4 and you can play it, grab some wins, have a good time, potentially reach legend in a favorable meta (sorta like the new Controlly Taunt Shaman)? I could maybe see it if the Menagerie cards turn out solid.
Then again, it could be wayyyyy too inconsistent and garbage XD
Dragon Egg probably wont be getting much in the ways of value, you'd be much better off playing playing Argent Squire instead in my opinion givent the current decklist. It could work though, It's just that with only abusive sergeant to get value off of it I would expect it to kinda sit on the board and do nothing a bit too often, as your only other buffs only give it +1 attack, not really enough attack to trade up for anything meaningul. If you want to keep it try switching Divine Strength for Blessing of Might so you can trade up more effectively and toss in a couple of Defender of Argus.
Murloc Tidecaller feels out of place. Without enough murlocs to spam onto the board besides the hero power I see it just sitting there as a 1/2 far too often. Again this could be replaced with Argent Squire as Argent Squire would have better synergy with the buff cards you want to play because of the dragon egg.
I LOVE Vilefin Inquisitor. I actually have it in my version that I have included below for reference. I'm glad you see the synergy this card provides with zoobot.
I agree entirely about the Nightbane Templar, I think it's going to allow for a deck like this to be possible, not to mention the 1/1s are dragons so they also work well with Zoobot.
This deck has potential, but I have to admit it's a bit rough around the edges. The more I think about it though I kinda like the Dragon eggs.
Here is my version I'm going to be testing if you feel that it may give you inspiration:
This is admittedly more midrangey but this is because of the need for more dragons to activate Nightbane Templar as well as a more threatening curve at the cost of not really being able to play Divine Favor but that's basically what azure drake and The Curator are for.
The Nightbane Templar is the main card that put the deck over the tipping point, without it this idea is probably better in Warlock.
LOL, this deck has only 4 dragons to trigger Nightbane Templar battlecry, which is a very low number. Just tell me you are joking.
4 dragons is actually pretty consistent, seeing as people are saying that Tiger into Warden is Op and will happen frequently (and it will) there is no reason to believe that triggering the templar on turn 3 or 2 is unlikely.

I think you need all three tribes for this deck to work, 2 buffs is really strong, but 3 is insane. and insane turns is what swings games and makes decks tier 1/2. A deck needs to be unfair to be competitive, 2 buffs is really good, 3 is unfair. I do a see a midrange version that runs The Curator also being tested, but I'm unsure on which version is better.

Either way I'll give it a shot!
I think 2 more dragons would be good, but most dragons just aren't aggressive enough to work. both midnight and twilight drake depend on having a big hand, which won't happen often, and all the other dragons are more controlish. Hungry Dragon is pretty aggressive, and in this type deck a random 1 drop is easily dealt with, curving into it with templar on three and hungry dragon on 4 is really strong.

Yeah the dragon eggs are a flex spot for sure, if you remove them you could remove the divine strengths and play around with those 4 slots. on the other hand have g the 2/1 whelps out is really good for the turn three Zoobot (egg into direwolf into Zoobot being potentially devastating too many decks). I also agree that the Tidehunter is weak, but i don't really see what to put in it's place. I felt like there weren't enough murlocs, and i didn't know which one to put in. I feel like if you play around with those 6 deck slots, you could try a slightly slower version with steward of darkshire and more divine shield stuff.
Thanks for all the feedback!

My soul is painted like the wings on butterflies, the fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die. I can fly, my friends.
But this deck is not really constructed level. It's slower than an aggro deck and fizzles out way before a midrange deck.
I can't see it beating anything sub rank 10
it's about the same pace as zoo, and don't be deceived, paladin aggro decks do damage faster than you would think. The real question would be how it's matches compare to zoo, because if they're the same or a bit worse than there's no reason not to juts play zoo, but if it's significantly better than zoo in some matches, then it has a good chance of rotating in and out of the meta like other more fringe decks, like freeze mage.
interestingly enough, if this deck beats warrior, freeze mage will come back and crush this deck and have less warrior to worry about.

that is quite the assumption considering dragon mage and paladin are some of my favorite decks, no need to act that way.

I think is a better option make the deck midrange, focus in individual minions and not in buffs and try to make a strong card advantage with The Curator and Brann.
For Brann the deck run two 1/1 beast discover, two Azure Drake and The Curator, for the murlock part I prefer the 2/1 charge for trade with 3/2 opponent drop in turn 2.

that's the other route you can take with this deck, and also seems quite strong. i'll certainly be trying both versions.

lol 4 dragons is enough? I play Dragon Handlock, there are 7 dragons in the deck and you always maintain a huge hand so the probability of you having a dragon in hand is big, but even then you might not have a dragon from time to time. You reduce dragon number to 6 and the consistency of dragon synergy goes down a lot. You want to tell 4 dragons is enough in an aggressive deck that dumps its hand? Not to mention the 2 dragons that you have are a 2 drops, they come before the templar, which makes it more llikely for you to play them on turn 2, leaving you with only hungry dragons to activate templars. No offense, but you need to work on your deck building, think how the deck is gonna work and if you ever played a dragon deck , you would know 4 dragons is nowhere enough for this kind of deck. The idea is interesting, but making a chaotic deck that works is really hard. Templars will see play in Dragon Paladin, I think there is plenty of cards to make a viable Dragon Paladin now.

So, they are some of your favourite decks and yet you don't realise that having only 4 dragons in the entire deck is obviously not enough for triggering Nightbane Templar's battlecry consistenly? How is that possible? And of course, as Maximal18 mentioned, 2 of your 4 dragons are two drops (the two Faerie Dragons), and guess what, you are problably going to have to play at least one of them before the Nightbane Templars in many games, how do you think that is going to work?

you have your experiences, i have my own. i think two more dragons would be a lot better, obviously, but which dragons are actually good in this type deck? azure drake is too slow, spell damage doesn't matter, etc. Dragon kin sorcerer could work, but you would have to rework the deck to run more buffs. Drakonid crusher and Volcanic drake could work though, admittedly i forgot about them. here are plenty of two drops and early game plays in this deck that, guess what, if you have faerie dragon and templar in your hand, you might simply just not play the faerie dragon. And the point is, that this IS NOT a dragon deck. It's a zoo deck, that has multiple tribes in it that are all buffed by Zoobot. I never claimed that this was the best version of the deck, simply my rough idea, as i said in the OP.
The Nightbane Templar is the main card that put the deck over the tipping point, without it this idea is probably better in Warlock.

well, for one you may not always curve out the dragon cards, you may curve out the beats, or the merlons, or a mix. That's the point of the decks, it runs cards that are weak individually but work well together. You won't get tiger into warden on T6 every time as druid, but when you do it's insane. In the same vein, you won't curve out templar into hungry dragon every single time, but when you do, it's pretty good. I will secede that Drakonid Crusher would be a solid include, as i said it slipped my mind while deck building. To be quite honest i don't really care for your condescending approach, and i do not really find it constructive or overly helpful.

Savage 4Head.
Anyway, not any boardclear,no draw! i dont expect this deck work without 2x Divine Favor,is incosistent as hell, most drops are slow....you cant outzoo zoo in zoo things, you cant out tempo dragon warrior,no single steward...just nope : D.
The minions are the board clear, and the divine favor is solid card draw and has been the only card draw aggressive paladin decks have needed throughout the many iterations of that deck.
