Yea, sure, look at low ranks and how good is Mage there. Especially after few days of people trying greedy Renathal decks that greatly benefited both Mage archetypes, that are otherwise quite mediocre (remember Mech Mage was always considered worse than Naga and got no new cards since, Big Spell Mage was a joke). Their winrates are artificially inflated and will plummet very soon.
So good luck leveling with Mage. Especially Big Spell Mage which, though not very good, is thoroughly hated, and gets BMed literally each time when losing. And you will lose A LOT.
Mage has 2 decks right now (post-patch) in tier 1 at ranks diamond and legend. You can argue about them being top tier or just taking advantage of a shifting meta, but you cannot deny they are "up there":
Do you guys ever win against abyssal curse warlocks? Because I haven't won a single one, ever. Not including mech though, might have won a couple ones.
Out of all the cancerous archetypes I honestly think abyssal curse is the worst of all time, nothing ruins the fun quite like mechanics that hinder your ability to even play your cards.
Definitely had worse times. The most notable I recall was the mean streets pirate warrior era. Mage just couldn’t do anything against the aggro and the control decks had way more value than mage could ever have. While mage definitely wasn’t the only class suffering at the time, I do recall people trying to make the secret package work to no avail at the time, the class just didn’t have any redeeming factors in that meta game. This led to it being borderline unplayable in both wild and standard. It sounds like it’s struggling a bit a standard right now but in wild quest mage is a great pick. Aggro is dead outside of pirate rogue and therefore taking infinite turns is relatively easy and leads to tons of free wins. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the deck get axed just due to how utterly unfun it is to watch yourself die for 5 minutes, but for now the deck is genuinely good in the meta, even mech mage can pull off wins with the right hand.

Mech mage got better because the FIELD changed, even if it didn't get any new cards.
Big spell mage bumped between tier 1 and 2 since the last nerfs as people started targeting it or playing around it with Okani and such.
Just give it a bit for the meta to restabilize and mage will be pretty much in the same spot as 1-2 weeks ago.

Winrates are skewed either way because people are experimenting with Renathal. Give it a week and the meta could be very different.
Yea, and new season just started, obviously hsreplay will need few days before their statistics reflect what happens now instead of a week ago.

You don't win, simple.
Worth noting for people who think Mech Mage is good - no Mech Mage was played during last Masters Tour (at least from quaterfinals).
the convo is about standard clearly lol no one cares about wild.
