I think Jepetto Joybuzz is just as unreliable as Luna's Pocket Galaxy. Fun, sometimes game-winner, but ultimately unreliable. Jepetto's Tempo loss is much more manageable tho, that's true.
The concept seems promising for Standard anyway: a Control-ish Mage with a potentially strong burst, that can be adjusted depending on the opponent.
Imho control mage won't make a comeback, because it doesn't have good tools to survive. And their win-condition is not that impressive - summoning extra minions is kinda meh. Freeze mage is an entirely different topic. I added cheap spells, so that I can cycle with Luna, slow down the opponent and/or transform them into Fireballs. I decided to put 2 Pyroblasts, because I wanted to increase the chances of casting at least one with Kalecgos. Maybe I should cut 1 in favour for another Anomaly (I personally don't like the Tricasters; I prefer my spells to inflict 1 less damage, but to have a normal cost).
If you ask me, control warrior is going to be very popular post rotation and we all know this is the natural counter to freeze mage. So I don't know how strong this archtype will be, when it's biggest foe runs rampant.

I like your list, I think I now have a better idea of what the core should look like. I forgot that you don't need much spot removal, just AoE freeze. I've edited my original post already
The lack of two ice blocks is brutal. That denies up to 20 mana, making any otk combo almost impossible to pull off, and the freezes a bit redundant. I don't think freeze mage got any good tools, except for the twinspell, which will probably be a two of in wild.

Most people being positive and wishing for a fresh new meta without 1turn kill games... and then there are those cowards trying to configure freeze mage even before release ..... Pfff you will get rekt hard this time.

Hey, I also disliked facing freeze mage back in the days, because it just stood behind Ice Blocks and hurled Fireballs at my face, but what's wrong about theorycrafting a combo deck? You think people doing this are cowards?
Like, we aren't doing anything illegal or cheesy here. And believe it or not, combo decks are actually healthy for the game, especially when they are NOT otks and offer many ways to interact with them. Against freeze mage paladin can just heal, warriors can armour a lot. And if you are playing a proactive deck, now you have that Dalaran Librarian, who can unfreeze your biggest minions and let them smack the opponent's face.
Freeze mage is a lot fairer to play against now that it has lost its Ice Blocks and ways to generate them (Primordial Glyph). If you want to complain about OTKs, then look at Holy Wrath Paladin (TTK btw), who still has stalling tools like Time Out!s and can inflict 25 damage from nowhere.

Freeze mage isn't an otk archetype, freeze mage is all about strategy, not combos.
You have to preserve your resources and wait for the best moment to use them. Stalling more turns as possible, before dropping damage. It's all about timing!

I am positive and I'm looking forward for a fresh new meta, but you gotta accept that combo decks are verly likely to always be a part of the game (and sometimes necessary).
I'm very much relieved that many of the OTK decks we had got destroyed or crippled, but I'm also curious to see as to which others could emerge.
And as someone who enjoys deckbuilding, what better way to spend the days prior to the release?
I'm not sure if I should expect someone talking about cowardice in a card game to understand though
Too many freeze mage support cards got hall of famed. Freezing still definitely has a role to play in aggro but ice block and ice lance are in the hall of fame. Community feedback that I recall was negative to the freeze mage strategy. New tools might make it better than it’s been in a while but I doubt we’ll see it be as dominant as it once was.
For trying my own list, I don't think the idea is that farfetched to be honest, but it's hard to justify playing freeze mage with so many control warrior that's basicaly an unwinnable match-up.
Great minds think alike! Here's the one I made on launch day. IMO, Fire-Eater belongs in this archetype, though maybe not the rest of the ping synergy stuff I put in. Unfortunately, the entire archetype is not playable right now due to the huge volume of warriors in the meta. I'm having a better time playing quest mage in wild. Ray of frost procs quest and there's no warriors there
Any consideration for Barista Lynchen? I'm loving this card in pretty much every deck I play. You could potentially copy Kalecgos or Sunreaver Warmage as it is. It's also a nice way to get an extra ooze for all of these multi-weapon decks running rampant right now. Adding an Arcane Keysmith or two to take advantage of it may not be a bad move, either.

I think it's too slow. Most of the time you're either going to be reacting to the enemy board, drawing cards or burning your opponent, and this card does neither of them.
Feel free to try it and tell us the results though, I may be wrong :)
I run Arcane Keysmith in my wild quest mage. Ice Blockdied rotated for this card, so we know it's a broken combo. It can pull Duplicate for more ice blocks too. I'm not sure what you'd want from this card in standard. You can't even get explosive runes anymore to kill a minion preemptively
Good part is it´s buget (except you should have Khadgar )
Zilliax and Harrison are replaceable (of couse they are better. I think two of the saves crafts ever) . Propably use an Ooze and a Sunreaver Warmage) you can also add a Keysmith but it´s epic ^^.
Has anybody attempted to make a freeze mage deck for RoS?
Edit: this is what I've come up with
I'd love to hear your ideas

I tried to make a somewhat strong list, though it appears that a user didn't agree with it:

Control warrior could be an issue yeah
Freeze mage is back guys... I can't wait to test and release my build.
Even though I don't like playing mage and back in the day I reaaaally disliked facing freeze mage, I'm kinda pumped about it this time around.
Must be nostalgia. I have a handlock build ready to go as well lol

I tried this list :
It feels decent to be honest, just not the right meta and not as fun without ice block.
