Hey guys, i was considering crafting Zola the Gorgon and Arcane Tyrant for the Odd Mage. Basically those are the only cards that i'm missing from the build and i don't know how critical they could be for or how they will impact my win rate in ladder. At the moment with a total of 28 games and a win rate of 64% (W18-L10) there wasn't many times that i missed those cards. Also i was thinking that those cards will rotate out of the standard in 2 months when the new expansion will kick in, so there will not be much from this invest. Dust is not a problem but i don't want to craft cards that i could swipe with something else instead and could save that extra dust.
Well if you're getting good results, wouldn't you wait until your winrate drops before you consider expensive crafts? 64% seems good, even if it dropped to 59% over a larger time period I would think that's more than acceptable. I'd just monitor how many times you think an extre Rag would have saved you, and decide if it's worth it.
I don't know how much 2400 dust worth cards are good now since they'll rotate in less than two months.
They are both very good cards, but they don't have any key role into the deck.
Arcane Tyrant can be a sweet 0 cost 4/4 and cheating mana is always a good thing, but the deck can perform well even without this minion.
Zola the Gorgon is a great value generator, since she allows you to play two Ragnaros the Firelord back to back, but again: you can play the deck without her as well.
In my opinion, it all depends if you are willing to play Wild in the future or if you are already playing it: Zola and Tyrant are strong cards that might find their spot in some fringe/OTK decks there too. However, if you want to stick just to Standard format, I suggest you to wait two months and see which archetypes the new expansion brings up
Zola is a top card in that deck. But it depends a bit if you play more control or more agressive. The more control the better. It wins a good number of games. The elementals are ok but i don´t think needed. I would replace a Stonehill or one Blazecaller/Astromancer for Zola. I also prefer Harrison over Ooze in that deck.
Yes i am mostly a midrange/control player. I'm also playing Wild times to times just to change a bit of the decks that i'm playing or facing and i'm always keeping all the cards that rotate out just to be able to play them again in wild.
Probably i will keep it as it is for now and i'll see if i'll just craft Zola the Gorgon or not at the end.
I‘m not running arcane tyrant (nor dragon fury) but zola. As many said its not mandatory, you can replace them with other cards like the 5/5 elemental or the guy doubling the damage of your hero power

I think they're great, but it's like two months to the rotation, and if you're doing decent, I'd just roll with what you've got.
Thanks all of you for your quick reply.
