This is not meant to be a thread about discussing if the nerf is justified or not, but rather about sharing decks and memories about an iconic card that will no longer see serious play in constructed hearthstone. Poems, screenshots, videos or other tributes are also welcome.
When I first did the Hearthstone tutorial, you automatically get introduced to the mage class, and get to play some powerful classic cards, like Fireball. Personally, I went for mage as my go-to class in constructed, and I tried numerous versions of minion based mage decks, that were never really succesful, even though Mana Wyrm+The Coin+Mirror Image was considered the strongest turn 1 in the game. They could look something like this:
With Naxxramas, I eyed new hope, with Mad Scientist being one of the strongest 2-drops in the game when played in mage. Decks similar to this one got me to rank 8, but other classes simply did the minion based deathrattle cheese better:
With GvG, I probably reached my peak as a deckbuilder, when this non-standard mech-mage got me to rank 2. The core concept was to abuse spare parts and you guessed it... Mana Wyrm along with the mech package.
With BrM, Mana Wyrm finally got the perfect turn 3 followup in this badboy:
along with 2 previously releasedspells with very high top value:
Having a great matchup against the top deck of the time, combo druid, tempo mage finally got it's name and place in the meta.
After it's heyday, Blizzard seemed to like the tempo mage archetype enough to give it good replacements when previous core cards rotated out. Explosive Runes, Arcanologist, Aluneth and Cinderstorm have all contributing to Tempo mage remaining a tier 2 deck, despite losing powerplays like Mad Scientist and Flamewaker. Another archetype that loves Mana Wyrm is the evil sibling aggro (freeze) mage, and the decks can look something like this:
All my memories of this card consists of me not having an immediate answer and getting hit for 10-20 dmg by a fucking 1 drop over the course of the game because when I tried to remove it I got counterspelled or If I played a Taunt it got immediate removed by Explosive Runes.
Got me to rank 7 for the first time at a time I only made home brew deck and didn't know any other deck. I remember how people used to ista concede after wyrm, coin and mirror image
The first time I got Legend with my own deck was back during Naxx release and my deck included 2xMana Wyrm and 2xUndertaker. RIP nerfed boys, you were too good for this world.
I'll miss turn 5 lethals against greedy life tapping handlocks. Sleep well, sweet prince. I hope you'll enjoy your retirement from ladder play and thank you for many hours of having fun playing ranked.

My very first thread in this forum was also on this topic, as Mage recieved some crippeling nerfs at the end of closed beta.

From dust you came.

:D
Love the tribes.
Got rank 5 for the first time back in the day with mana wyrm. F you will be missed.
That brings back so much good memories, i played all the decks ts has mentioned, and even more.
Since the start of hearthstone mage is my favourite class with over 4k wins, and now the mana wyrm, the iconic mage card is "gone".
And I think its really gone, cause noone will play it at 2 manacost, thats like nerfing the priest cleric to 2 mana, such a wrong decision imo.

Good times.

Rip Wyrm, you'll be missed.
Mage was the first class I played on ladder and is still by far my most played class.
Wyrm carried me to all my laddering achievements. Rank 15, 10, 5 and finally last month to legend for the first time with this deck
