Yeah, I think it lost too many parts of its identity to survive.
Kabal Lackey was an additional, low-mana cost way to cheat a secret onto the deck, and the three damage from an activated Medivh's Valey made a tremendous difference, in either face damage or removing a small minion for board control and tempo. Add Crystal Runner as a free 5/5 and you've now lost pretty much the heart of the deck. I don't see the fast-burn secret mage as a thing anymore.
I think that feels like a lot of secrets. With only Kirin Tor Mage and not Kabal Lackey, I don't think it'd be worth running 6 secrets. I might go to just four, dropping at least one Mirror Entity, and probably both (lots of Baku Aggro with weak 1-drops out there). I might put in Ghastly Conjurer (the Mirror Image is good with both Vex Crow and Fungalmancer) and add a second Vex Crow, and remove at least one Arcane Keysmith. Getting Bittertide Hydra also seems worthwhile. Stonehill Defender seems an interesting choice. Given the number of low-HP minions out there, it actually works OK, but perhaps cutting one for a Hydra makes sense to me. I don't know if all the cards line up, but so it goes.

That said, this is all in the context of wanting to stay a secret mage. Most mages seem mostly to go into either Big Spell/control, or into Book of Secrets decks with lower spell counts for the more aggressive side of Mage. I guess there are also decks which go all-in on cheap spells for Vex Crow and Archmage Antonidas. These might be a better directions in general than pure-secret.
Dead cancer deck that still wins vs slow decks lacking healing.
With good draw on curve plus Aluneth early means ignoring the whole state of the match and just launch burn spells to face.
Im glad its wr is in the gutter but with a good draw it still is cancer and i cant believe some ppl still play it and dont have the minimum idea how it is considered a low skill cancer draw dependent deck.
Die die die die!!!!
I prefer seeing 5 charged doomguards then this stupidity. Why? Easy, they don't ignore the board.
Does this set still work after the last update?
What should I put in place of Kabal Crystal Runner Medivh's Valet and Kabal Lackey?
DAMN i missing Crystal Runner a lot today heheh
What do you think about these new cards?
Arcane Keysmith
Archmage Arugal
Cinderstorm
Shimmering Tempest
I would try bittertide hydra to fill the gap of crystalrunner. Theyre both crazy high tempo cards so it kinda works
Stop playing this deck, it lost a lot of carts, it is dead. Sorry :c
Also book of specters is nutty, throw that in there
We don't need this cancer deck again. Try something different ;)
So happy this stupid deck is gone. SO HAPPY.
I cant believe this cancer deck die:((

Secret Mage is not dead! It has better matchups vs Paladins and vs Druid it is good as it used to be against warlock
