Exodia(Quest) Mage is a combo deck whose strategy is to get 4 sorcerer's apprentices and archmage antonidas onto the board and throw an infinite amount of fireballs at the enemy. This combo is possible because of Time Warp, which gives you an extra turn, and Molten Reflection/Simulacrum which allows you to copy Sorcerer's apprentices.
This deck is insanely difficult to play properly and requires a lot of intelligence and game knowledge to master completely. Be warned; new players to this deck will often lose many games before finally learning how to pilot it properly. The most important skills needed to pilot this deck well is proper management of hand size in order to not burn any cards by overdrawing, fast thinking, quick calculations of all the different possibilities of spells you can get from random spell generators and lastly, meticulousness.
This deck is extremely strong against greedy control decks due to its ability to kill the enemy with infinite fireballs and disregard their health and armor. It is notorious for being an uninteractive deck. It however, has its weaknesses, such as aggro decks, dirty rat, coldlight oracle, naturalize, eater of secrets, and ice block. A really good player of the deck however, will be able to still beat decks that it is supposedly weak to.
Overall, I feel Exodia Mage is a really fun and challenging deck to play. I recommend anyone looking for a deck that truly stimulates the mind to try it. It's like solving puzzles every game. Here's a video of me playing Exodia Mage, in case anybody wants to learn how to play it.
Nothing makes a video better than annoying dubstep (or whatever) placed over it. Can't stand Exodia Mage (or Paladin/Priest) as it flies in the face of what Hearthstone should be about and is just incredibly uninteractive. Think calling it "insanely difficult" is a massive overexaggeration too.

I'll admit you had me going up until this point. At which point I couldn't finish reading for the laughing. It's one of the simplest and easiest decks to play in the meta right now. Of my arsenal, it's easily the one I can almost guarantee an easy win unless facing a bad starting hand or a good face-deck. It takes almost no thought to play in fairness.
Burn, draw, repeat until you have the set up, while laughing behind the Ice Blocks.
It's hard to tell if it's more boring to play or to play against. That said, the quest is fine. It's the Ice Blocks that need relegating to Wild already and should have been. They're only saving grace is that they are one of the few current decks able to stop the Jade Druid rampage that is currently going on.
The closest comparison I can make with this deck is basically playing Solitaire with a ticking time bomb in the background. Apparently there's another player involved, but it doesn't matter what theyre doing since they have no effect on the outcome of the game really.

honestly that game was so easy in no way this deck is hard to play, even jade druid is harder, and i can"t imagine the level of fun it has to be in mirror, what a pain this deck is to face, hope it dies with the ice block
drawing, throwing hand to make the quest, never trade the board because you can't, freeze/auspice when its optimal, throwing fireballs, hands down a skilled deck yeah
freeze mage was hard to play because there was a constant thinking of what you can use for control and what you have to keep to face, and the tempo between board control/draw, with rly little rng outside of the draw per turn, but now its just draw fast win fast

Hey now that you mention Coldlight Oracle, that might just be a great solution. I already ran Dirty Rat, certainly I can free up one more slot for card draw...

its drum and bass not dubstep
"or whatever"
nah nah nah don't lie i know you said that because whatever music is a pain to ear when is not yours and when you watch a video but you initially thought the music played was dubstep , dubstep and whatever where two different parts about two different contexts

What? It's dubstep or something-like-dubstep, I couldn't care less about what it actually is. Don't accuse me of lying because you can't read what's relatively basic English though.

Maybe he thought "whatever" was some kind of music lol.
Playing the simple version of the deck at the moment.
It's not a difficult deck in the sense you have to overthink, you have one single win condition.
It is however very easy to make mistakes using it.
It's about managing your hand without burning five cards, triggering the quest in the meantime and stalling until you can make your move. I prefer my version which has yogg in it, if you fail at least you can have a bit of fun.
Agreed, quest mage is fun to play. Every game feels different due to random cards and its difficult to pilote. Misplays gets punished very hard (milling the quest, anyone?).
Best thing is, you can consistently give Druids the finger
Yup. One of the reasons why I started playing Exodia Mage was to beat druids.
Played against an exodia mage last night with my evolve shaman and it basically was over because he drew 4 ice blocks. I think if any card from mage gets retired to the hall it should be this one, or not have it be a spell that can be pulled from primordial and others spell makers. After freezes I basically had over 5 turns to do nothing while he tried to draw combo. Pretty boring.

whatever means anything not anything that sounds like dubstep, the supposedly meaning of this sentence was clear only for you, instead you should have say "or whatever it is" basic english don't you think ?
also, the repetition of "nah nah nah" was meant to show that i wasnt serious, what an asshole you are, that was basic skill conversation
Turn 2, it is not a good idea to hero power the Radiant Elemental. You are not going to kill him with Hero Powers since the Priest can just heal, and you are risking giving him card draw with Norshire Cleric. The removal you have in the deck, likely FrostBots, already deals 3 damage, so that hero power doesn't help you there. Later on, you also don't need the hero power on the minion because you simply stalling, and even if you intend to try to clear the board, it will be by Doomsayer removal, not damage based removal.
Turn 5 of the opponent, as you can see, that backfired.
Your turn 5, why kill Elemental over Norshire?
After that, since you managed to gather the whole combo by turn 9 and 21 cards deep into the deck, it is just a matter of killing the Priest, your second Ice Block is in your hand so he can't get it from the Benedictus effect, he would need to draw a Cabalist Tome to get it (You drew both Glyphs, I assume you only run 1 Babbling Book, the only option was Tome)
As for the rest about the deck, personally it's a Combo deck, which makes me like it a lot, I'm a Combo and Control player primarily. It is a hard deck to play, pretty inconsistent, which is only very good right now because we are still early in the expansion and everyone is playing Greedy decks, which is what this deck preys upon.
I do have to correct you and other people here. The deck is interactive. It has both Hard and Soft Counters that other players can use, and during game, there are lots of ways to play around the deck no matter what you are using, which is something that falls in the interactivity department. For the deck to be uninteractive, you would need to remove all it's hard and soft counters, aswell as disabling any options to play around the deck, which is not the case, all of this exists.
Other than that, people should try the deck to see the strengths and weaknesses it has if they don't know them already.
As a very combo centric player, I do have to say, I really don't like how the Mage Quest was designed though. The reward is Combo centric, but the requirement to enable it is actually value centric, which means you have to split the focus of the deck into both sides to make it work, which is generally something that you do not want in a Combo deck, and that is why this deck is very inconsistent. (The deck is inconsistent, it doesn't matter that currently performs really well, that is only because of the specific short window meta we are in, that will change soon and after it changes, you will see that in the next 3 months until the December expansion, the deck will become much more inconsistent).
1. I hero powered radiant elemental because if he dropped northshire cleric + heal on turn 3, it means he would not be able to drop a 3 drop. If he dropped a 3 drop, it means my ghastly conjurer later on would be able to kill it if he didn't shadow word pain my ghastly conjurer.
2. radiant elemental is more important to kill than cleric as radiant elemental can allow him to pull off dangerous combos.
Leaving up a Radiant Elemental is way worse than leaving a Northshire cleric up. Against priest you'll win like 90% guranteed unless you let him go off with Radiant Elemental + Lyra into something like thoughtsteal into cabalist tome into ice blocks or other nonsense.
Card draw doesn't really matter so leaving Northshire Cleric up is fine. If he plays Eater of secrets in a druid meta then sure, let him get a win.
Agreed that take a fair amount of skill relative to most decks and honestly in a more normal meta I wouldn't mind it so much but the 'infinite' part of the combo still peaves me on principle. Still, Dirty Rat and a weakness to aggro means that this deck is fine in my books.

"Exodia mage requires a lot of thought"
"In here I am gonna ping his radiant elemental and set him up for a quick draw with northshire cleric"
Yeah okay buddy.

This deck is the definition of boring.
It competes with Razakus Priest for more uninteractive deck of the game.
