No worth in 4 month massive changes and thaurissan leave standard even the decks with 1 copy can be useless without reno
Any answer from anyone right now saying "yes" or "no" would be trolling. The expansion is too fresh, today everyone is complaining about jade druid, tomorrow pirates, the day after it will be the new cancer-mysterious-aggro-shaman-worstmeta-thanksblizzard deck.
So hold on to your dust and wait for the... dust to settle.
But to be honest freeze mage hasn't been what it was pre-standard. Mad scientist was really important for that deck. And alex has not been used a lot lately. I wouldn't do it.
4 month long time to wait,i think reno will be transfered to classic
What makes you think that? Did anyone from blizzard mention it? Because I feel it's highly unlikely, very highly unlikely. The purpose of standard is for cards to rotate, not to keep the ones players want to keep using in standard.
Trust me, Alex is not where you want to go... unless you are crazy about freeze mage. But don't expect to win a lot.
You don't need to wait 4 months to craft something, but don't do it right after an expansion hits. Wait a week or so, at least.
I worry about Freeze Mage's matchup versus some of the more aggressive lists right now, like Pirate Warrior, which can sometimes be a bit of a coinflip at best for the Mage these days. Otherwise, the deck should handle Jade Lotus classes really well, and it should hold off more Midrange style Grimy Goon classes, and it's obviously going to be pretty good against the Kabal Classes if you're running any sort of OTK package. Given all that, it bears waiting a bit to see how the meta settles. If Jade runs the show, Freeze Mage will be a pretty natural counterpick, and it's weakest matchup in Control Warrior will likely be suppressed, though that meta would probably push Pirate Warrior which could be somewhat less dangerous but still a problem. It's hard to say if it will really be in the meta this soon after release. My guess is that it will be, as I've had some promising results with Jade lists and aggressive-to-midrangy Goon lists, as well as some slow Kabal lists, all of which leave some space to be preyed on by Freeze. I haven't tested it though as I'm playing a bit less Mage (my personal favorite class, of which Freeze is my favorite archetype) since I got the golden portrait.
Long and short, wait to craft Alex for Freeze. She might not be worth it. She could be slotting into Control Warrior, though, if Jade is a thing, to help provide burst lethal opportunities. With so little refinement right now it's hard to say what will work best.
if you really want to play freeze Mage,Craft her and play Freeze mage the deck has been playable since the stone age without things like thaurissan existing, and if you don't like playing FM without Thaurissan youc an always play Freeze mage in wild when he rotates out
With the downfall of Control warrior, Freeze mage will become a tier 1 deck again. There is not one really bad matchup anymore. The only match up which will be difficult is pirate warrior, but the are some ways to adjust freeze mage in case pirate warrior gets too dominant on ladder. If interested watch laughing stream, probably the best freeze mage player.

I don't think freeze is great right now. Pirate warrior will beat u. Druids can beat you with their gain 8 armor cards
