The question is what can you replace with Mukla in Tempo Mage?
Flamewaker and Mana Wyrm lose their potential by turn 7.
Yogg and Antonidas get value of this card. But if you want that value, you should be trying a Control deck. Tempo Mage is essencially an aggro deck, and must get close to win the game before turn 6.
edit: Also Mukla, Tyrant of the Vale has really poor stats. 5/5 for 6 mana and not a short-term impact in the game makes it a bad tempo card.
Of course. Fits the same place as toshley and he was used in that deck.
Toshley is a 5/7 that gives you Spare parts, which can be really powerful in some situations. And it was used in Mech Mage. They're completely different.
It's way too slow, and even Toshley was barely played. You often don't even see Antonidas anymore. That said I could see it being a fun option, and it won't cripple the deck (it actually might buff the win rate vs. control; as long as you have Antonidas anyway).

No they are not. We are not talking about perfect situations here. If the dude has a mukla let him use it. People used a lot of different activators for a lot of mage cards and mukla gives you 2 of them.
When you consider a f2p account, mukla is a good card for this deck.
Also, what works is what makes you win.
I'm not f2p, I have all the cards for tempo mage but it isn't doing too good this season so I want to experiment.
This is a staple of my Hunter Yogg Beast deck. Of course, in that deck it has the advantage of being a Beast. That said, I never seem to not find a use for those bananas. I'm sure it would be the same for Tempo Mage.
If you hold in your TM deck cards like: Cabala Tome; Ethereal Conjurer; Faceless Summoner or Sylvanas, than you may try to replace one of these cards with Mukla. But I find all these cards to be too heavy for the current meta in r5-legend. So I think Mukla is bad.
It's not really good for tempo-oriented aggressive Mage as each banana token need to have extra +1/+1 effect before it breaks even to its worth of mana. (About 1 1/2 to 2 random missile, or two Mana Wrym on board). Too costly and situational to be impactful on the board, whereas Faceless Summoner is more reliable in this regard.
It was the first WOG I opened and I tried to fit it in my tempo mage, but honestly, it was too slow.
True fact is that it's a widely disputed spot between Mukla, Sylvannas, Cairne and Faceless Summoner. Though honestly I prefer my turn 6 to be more like Azure Drake + Arcane Blast.
Only tested a few games and Mukla only came up once. While I can see the theory crafting points as to why he doesn't work, he actually was useful in the game he game up in, played him around 7 or 8 and he was removed immediately. Turn 10 dropped Tony, mirror image and banana'd both 0/2's which opponent couldn't get through... Fireball face until victory.
I replaced a faceless summoner for Mukla. It seems like a decent replacement if you draw poorly early on and pull a late game flamewaker or mana wrym. I'm going to keep testing because I'm not quite convinced it's better than faceles. I would take it over ethereal conjurer though
Faceless Summoner is the best tempo play u can make on T6, Mukla is good for specifically Yogg decks, but if u want the most tempo, summoner is way to go, the card is just retarded :)
Fun fact: u can get Mukla (3mana one) from Faceless Summoner too ... happened to me in arena (for my opponent), was pretty soul crushing tbh :D
Would that work? It has bad stats but the spell synergy with Flamewaker, Antonidas, Yogg and Mana Wyrm is great.

I've played a lot of games and you need a great hand to get close to lethal on turn 6. Flamwaker gets it's best potential on turn 5 to 10 too.

Alright, I think I might craft him when I get the dust. The synergy is kind of insane. Play 2 bananas on a 1/3 mana wyrm and it's a 5/5 now.
This is crazy, I just pulled a golden one from a pack then came here to see this thread... Will test and report back

Dependable loan sharks since 1960. We sink our teeth into every deal we make.

My greatest achievement yet:
Not disenchanting my double Shadowbomber
To be honest I don't like summoner. Maybe it's just me but whenever I use him I get garbage. Like a 1/5 or Dreadscale when I have low health minions.
I'd hit that! Wait for that flamewaker turn or a late game mana wyrm and be happy. Also, Antonidas!

Thanks for experimenting, tell me how the results go!
