You are overreacting dude chill, tempo mage is far from dead, it loses some stuff but so do other decks, only when BRM rotate out the deck will receive a big hit, and as people said we barely saw any mage cards yet, you really thing they would give LESS cards for one class? Especially Mage which is one of the most played and probably the one with more room for doing different/weird stuff? hell no.
Now I agree that a lot of people are overestimating forbidden Flame, it is far from being that good, especially to replace flamecannon(LMAO).
the two best mage decks are still going to be really good and only 2 mage cards revealed so far...
Tempo Mage is dead, Mech mage is dead. Maybe Freeze Mage survive, but be weaker.
Why is Tempo mage dead?
It lost Mad Scientist, portal, flame cannon, pilot, boom. Without scientist secrets will be a spend of time, and everyone plays around than, you will pay 3 mana for a 1/1 minion or cancel a coin. This deck will lost at least 12 cards.
I was playing Kirin Tor Mage before Mad Scientist. I agree it's not the same but it's either that or no secrets in tempo deck (at least with what we've seen so far). The forbidden spell could replace flamecannon, if there's not another spell (power of minions drops either way from what we see). Water Elemental can certainly replace Shredder and Ragnaros/Rhonin to replace Boom. Sure the deck wont have the crazy tempo that it has now but if the meta slows down, it might not even need it. Mana wyrm, Sorcere's Apprentice, Flamewaker, Ethereal Conjurer and all the basic damaging/comboey spells are still here and we already have some average replacements.
I hope you're right bro, I just disagree at one point, I see forbidden spell as dust, it has to damage face for to make some sense to me

Tempo mage is far from being dead. it will just go more mid range.
Tempo is already pretty bad imo. It is at the bottom of the Tier2 range. And honestly as someone who is laddering with tempo mage I'm having a hard time believing it's not lower, but maybe that's just because I'm bad and I'm running constantly against Zoo locks.

I hope I'm right as well. I dont want such a well-balanced all-around deck to perish tbh :(

The real question is why do blizzard suddenly hate warlock so much? All warlock cards so far a terrible! Doom - Why? I guess warlock needs even more card draw!?!?!? Possessed Villager - What a joke a 1/1 that spawns a 1/1!?!?! Spreading Madness - gotta love 9 damage to own face what a epic feeling!?!?! Cho'Gall - Serious he could have had such an epic effect instead they made him into a suicidial kill yourself minion.... I mean like warlock needs to take even more face damage am I right? Renounce Darkness - Biggest RNGuses of them all, but that is probally the best card for warlock so far in this expansion - I will play it atleast, but the other can just collect dust in my collection
I am not the biggest warlock player, but still I feel like blizzard wanted to nerf the warlock class for some weird reason Priest class does not show much hope either, but I still got hopes up - Priest is my go to class after all - Forbidden shaping looks nice :)
Warlock have the worst cards because they have the best hero power, warlock is and probably will be the most flexible class, and they still have one of the best legendary minion/win condition.
On topic:
About mage freeze mage is super determined about the meta, if there is druid/warrior freeze wont see any play, tempo mage lose so many cards so you cant imagine what kind of deck could run and a lot of people supporse that they wont be playable, duplicate mage, who evolves with the emta(moltens, fatigue elise, value) have seen less play because they are not so trong at all, maeby theya re decent to ladder and definetly are funny, but thats all, they the minority.
Dont worry dude, lets have faith that the next expansion wont be only aggro shaman in standard... btw, better that they dont reveal cards that they reveal like the one that have revealed from priest ( nevertheless forbidden shaping looks good).
2. About how the two spells suck when they're epic cards, which as we've seen in the past are tricky and gimmicky to work with. Epic cards are not "Oh god, win all" cards. Secret paladin isn't strong because of Mysterious challenger alone. It's strong because it has amazing early tempo through rares and commons and can curve out nicely into a niche card that needs 1/3 of the deck to be built around it. Pyroblast or whatever isn't necessary in Mage decks, as there are plenty of damaging spells of a lower rarity. Two of the Mage secrets are epic, and they do weird things that one is easily worked around (through things such as Curse of Rafaam and Fatigue damage) and the other snatches a spell.
3. That the other 74 cards haven't been revealed yet. There is still 2 weeks to go and thy don't reveal most of the commons and rares until a few days before in a "mega dump". Be patient, it comes the 26th-ish

Yeah man, the warlock cards arrggg. Two very bad epic cards.
Warlock have the worst cards because they have the best hero power, warlock is and probably will be the most flexible class, and they still have one of the best legendary minion/win condition.

Yeah, I have to be more patience, but Blizz could equilibrate the reveals cards, warrior, warlock and paladin already have 5 card each. But is better wait, because warlock, priest and rogue, meh.
Tempo is already pretty bad imo. It is at the bottom of the Tier2 range. And honestly as someone who is laddering with tempo mage I'm having a hard time believing it's not lower, but maybe that's just because I'm bad and I'm running constantly against Zoo locks.
Yeah, I hear you. It is a constant stream of zoo decks broken up by murlocadin and Secret Pallys, with the odd Control priest here and there. Been a rough go post Rank 15 for me.
But, on to the OP. Secretless tempo mage is a very viable option, although not quite as fun for me I admit. Forbidden Flame is, on paper, extremely lackluster, but let's wait and see what synergies arise when more cards are revealed. Cabalist's Tome could be fantastic in a more control-driven meta. Otherwise it has questionable value. Since this whole set seems designed to slow the meta down there is some faint hope that it actually does.
Little frustrated at the lack of Mage reveals, but we'll get there.
As we've seen with all of the cards in the expansion, Blizz is making an obvious effort not to print cards with the power level that Naxx and GvG had, because as we all know, a lot of those cards were just game breaking, and most importantly reduced the number of deck types and variations out there. Plenty more mage cards will be revealed anyway, dont worry.
I dont see why everyone is complaining about the Warlock cards though. Sure some of them depend a bit too much on RNG, actually the card that I have the biggest problem with in the expansion is the 'replace everything in your deck' card in Warlock, but I have an issue with that because of the concept of the card, not its power level. First of all, Warlock is one of the classes which suffered the least from the Standard rotation (besides zoo).
Plus, the new cards look very powerful, especially Cho'Gall
OK you lose mad scientist and shredder for hat you can use i dont know kirin tor mage(slow but at least you can get your secrets out ).For more spells i dont know use Rhonin(slow but at least you get stuff for your flamewaker.Try it out in casual try some decks that is what i do to see how it works.Dont just say :Oh no mage will be bad in standart, stupid game why no love for mage.Dude stay calm we have at least 2 weeks or more where the cards will be revealed. The classes that suffered the most were shaman and rouge. And you know what they did ,they made face decks. Now look at shaman because of that blizzard gave them cool cards. If mage get bad cards make a face deck. Then everybody will say oh that is just cancer and in the next adventure/expansion mages will get cool cards to work with.Until then have some patience grind gold try to make some decks for standart or if you don't like the cards just play wild and you are happy.
Thanks for advice bro. I hope that will have a mage card today
All the spoiled brats here cry about Shredder leaving, as if Mage doesn't already have an amazing 4 drop, Water Elemental. Half of all decks are losing Dr. Boom so this is not exactly an argument about a deck getting weaker. The only real loss Tempo Mages will suffer from is Mad Scientist, arguably the best tempo play a deck can make. Flamecannon was usually a one of in the deck and Mage already has tons of great early game removal, namely Arcane Missiles, Arcane Blast, and Frostbolt, so its loss is not a big deal. Finally, Unstable Portal was just a gamble, half of the time it was useless or decent, and half of the time it was amazing and even game winning. Tempo Mage needs consistency, not cheap ways to insta-win games with turn 4 Dr. Boom or something similarly ridiculous.
Consistency has always been tempo Mage's biggest weakness, and i am hoping we see some cards that address this issue (though Shredder and Unstable Portal leaving is certainly a big step in the right direction). What tempo Mage really needs imo is a good 2 drop to replace Mad Scientist, and a solid way to keep secrets competitive, less broken than Mad Scientist though.
Maybe with mad scientist out Fallen Hero see the sun. But I agree, mage need a good 2 drop for scientist's palce
Sure Mad Scientist is gone but face it, Mage is fine without that OP card.
Tempo Mage loses Flamecannon & Unstable Portal is gone, still a strong deck, just go more midrange/lategame.
Grinder Mage loses alot: Duplicate, Deathlord, Echo of Medivh, Illuminator & Explosive Sheep. I wonder if it'll survive, probably will with Conjurer & that new 5 mana card. Worst case scenario just go Dragon Mage.
Mage is fine, relax![/card]
Tempo mage will be horrible. It is like saying dragon priest will be fine after losing the brm cards. Yes, antonidas flamewaker are good cards but they can not carry the archetype alone.
The main problem is turn 2. What are you going to do with only frost bolt and SA left in the slot? Loot hoarder and Flame Juggeler? Those are not bringing you ahead in any way. Flame cannon killed innervate shades and totem golen, scientist was OP in general and Portal could give you a value 3-drop or higher. SA on turn 2 is just too weak and dies too much.
There could be a minibot level 2-drop in the works though!
Mage was good before mechs and spare parts. It's always been one of the most solid classes in the game, and losing a few cards isn't going to suddenly make it bad.

Hell no, it wasn't! With the exception of some freak metacalls like RDU's dreamhack freeze mage, mage was in a lot of trouble until GvG. Nax secretmages were never even tier 2.
Freeze nerf into Pyroblast nerf brought mage to the bottom 2 classes for a pretty long time!
"Tempo mage just need to go more midrange" Holy shit the early game was the most important stage for the Tempo mage. If you didn't have board control when you go into the mid-game, you have most likely lost.
Sorcerer's Apprentice is not enough to carry the early game as she is more important in the mid-game to gain discounts on spells in conjunction with Flamewaker. Losing Mad Scientist, Unstable Portal and Flamecannon ruins a lot. These cards are irreplaceable. Mage need a new unconditional 2-drop or tempo mage is in serious trouble.
