The title speaks for itself, what do you think is the worst way they could butcher hunter like they did druid? I believe that messing with cards such as Eaglehorn bow, kill command or animal companion would definitely strike a hard blow.
And yet all three of those cards are not an issue whatsoever. The only card that is too strong is Deathstalker, and that's going away (standard) sooner than later.
The problem with Deathstalker is he requires absolutely zero buildaround and wins games by himself. Regardless of the build of hunter (forgoing Baku) rexxar is the best card in the deck no question.
You could build a deck thats sole purpose is to stay alive and cycle to Rexxar and you would probably have great success. But seeing all these posts about how animal companion, to my side, or whatever else is too op is just stupid. Rexxar is the only part of hunter that's busted, nothing else. He simply bails the class out too hard right now.
I don't think they will touch the DK due to the fact that a lot of the good beast will be rotating in a few months, but if they ever did they would make him cost 7 mana probably.

I never said those cards were overpowered. OP asked how to kill hunter, this would do it. Yes, Rexxar is OP (you did see me mention it, right?), but you're unlikely to survive until you draw him without the cards I mention. Why do you think most hunters run Tracking in their deck?
In a few months (April/May) Deathstalker Rexxar will rotate out along Swamp King Dred, Kathrena Winterwisp, Rhok'delar. Charged Devilsaur, Carnivorous Cube, Crushing Walls, To My Side!, Devilsaur Egg, Venomstrike Trap, Lesser Emerald Spellstone, Wandering Monster, Play Dead, Candleshot, and Flanking Strike.
After which Hunter should drop from the meta like a lead balloon.
Spellstone probably needs to get hit in some way, just because of how stupidly game deciding it can be if played on 5.
Then there'S DK Rexxar, but that thing is only good because it lets you beat control decks (which HUnter never could before).
With the rotation Hunter is going to be fairly shit again (unless they make enough good spells for Zul'jin to carry the class single handedly, which I doubt)
If anything Hunter's base set needs some reworking. NErfs aren't going to cut it, like with Druid. The problem with Hunter is that the class worked best as a midrange deck which basically lost once it ran out of steam. Then they started trying new stuff and in order for them to work they had to make the new cards as busted as possible.
I mean look at Mech HUnter. They tried a new archetype without giving it any busted cards and it went absolutely nowhere. Look at Master's Call andRevenge of the Wild. BOth cards have crazy value, but they're still not good enough. Because if Hunter can't play minion after minion on curve until you're dead they need some other way to win...and that way, as we see now, is by having the best mana cheat after Druid (well, not anymore). Kathrena, SPellstone, Devilsaur Egg and a few others are pretty much played only because the absurdly unfair advantage they bring when you get them on curve....and the thing is Hunter NEEDS this unfairness to even be able to compete. If Spellstone didn't exist nobody would play Spell Hunter or Secret Hunter. If Egg didn't exist, neither would Deathrattle Hunter.
The meta is just focussed around mana cheating right now and it's KnC's fault. Once all that shit rotates we might be able to just play normally again (and get dominated by Odd Warrior who will, at that point, be free of counters. I hope you like the return of Resident Sleeper Warrior)
IMO they need to do something with DK Rexxar because value from this card is just too big, maybe they should change beast bulid cost to 3 or 4 mana.
I disagree. Gul'Dan also creates stupid amounts of value and I'm not even talking about the battlecry. The hero power itself spits on the original HS concept of having limited answers in control mirrors. If you're going to target infinite value it needs to be across the board, not just nerfing infinite value in some cards and preserving other players' biased class favorites.
There are many heavy board-clears and tools available to stall the game
all-time-classic: Equality + Consec, Time Out!, Blizzard, Flamestrike, Psychic Scream, Mass Hysteria,
Warlock, Warrior etc...
Put Hunter's Spellstone to 6 Mana?
IMO if they nerf sth again, they should nerf nearly every class or "broken" mechanic because nerfing one thing will never lead to a good result (at this state of the game)
MAYBE the rotation is a solution but I don't see it... Few deck-types will be again supported by expansion-cards (Flower-Power, Floop = Maly, Shirvallah, Time Out = OTK-Pala, Mech-mechanic + Dr. Boom = Cancer-Control at it's best...) and so on...
But honestly, they don't need to do anything. Just wait until DK Rexxar rotates out and most hunter decks will die by themselves.
A popular, but anecdotal analysis, and potentially inaccurate. DK Rexxar is very meta-dependent, otherwise a big tempo loss. Unless I start facing more token/zoo or more heavy control, he's coming out in favor of something that moves my game forward. A lot of times lately he just stares back at me from my hand with a frowny face.

A better option is to not do anything, because it's clear that people needed something to complain about after we got the nerfs we wanted. I mean there was no talk about nerfing hunter before the patch, and it's not like they buffed the class or anything. It's just the recent project for people looking to complain about something.
Spellstone needs to be nerfed either with a cost increase or reduce the number of wolves. I hate this idea that everyone should suffer for 3 or 4 months before the rotation just so hunter can have it's time to be in the sun.

Someone is always on top, are you sure you're not just salty because it isn't your deck anymore? BTW my Hunter deck doesn't use any spellstones or secrets.

I feel like removing Vicious Scalehide from the Zombeast pool would help a lot, although that wouldn't solve the problem of turn 5 12/12 into turn 6 12/12.
I think nerfing eaglehorn bow to 2 mana should do the trick. Odd Secret Hunter won’t get that bow anymore and that should nerf that hunter deck really good.
I don’t think we need to nerf hunter :) meta hasn’t even settled
Err: freezing trap only increasing cost by 1, candleshot 2 durability
wtf: eaglethorn to 4 mana, zul'jin only casting 5 spells max.
A S C E N D E D: hunter having its hero power disabled for the entire game, all hunter cards cost 10, no hunter, instant loss for picking hunter, hunter unable to rank up, losing your entire collection when you pick hunter, hunter costs $10 to play for each time you play, all hunter players being sent to siberia, firing all developers responsible for any hunter card, bombarding blizzard whenever anyone in there thinks of hunter, travelling back in time to torture the world of warcraft developer to never create a hunter class: which results in no hunter class ever being made in hearthstone. Going back in time and causing a huge war on technology: resulting in game development being behind for decades and thus hearthstone not existing which means no hunter.
So yeah those are some ideas, seem pretty fair to me.

I predict if they do nerf Hunter, the cards most likely to be affected would be some or a combination of
Lesser Emerald Spellstone - The usual suspect. As others have already predicted making it summon 1-2-3 wolves. Or increasing the cost to 7 mana.
Freezing Trap - Making the minion cost only 1 more
Wandering Monster - Summon a 2-cost minion
I don't think they will touch the DK due to the fact that a lot of the good beast will be rotating in a few months, but if they ever did they would make him cost 7 mana probably.

Lesser Emerald Spellstone is the real problem almost like Level up (before nerf)..Rexxar is ok but Emerald at turn 5 with 3 secrets behind is insane
