So with the nerfs a lot of people (Specially a bunch of streamers) started to play a build of Kathrena hunter with Secrets and spellstone and cubes to get insane power turns with Play Dead but recently I started seeing some other builds with Keleseth and the hunter ooze and that 7 mana recruit and 8 mana minion which also look powerful... I know you require pretty much the same cards for both and I'm missing the same ones for both decks so it's technically irrelevant but I'm just curious in which of the 2 builds is more powerful for you?
When building such a deck it felt inconsistent. Shure it has great moments but the number of bad draws felt too much and i could not get a winrate to climb resonable fast beyond rank 15. And this means it can even have a positive rate but i compare it to the "Flow" and 60% rate of my taunt warrior.
Similar to Spiteful Druid, the variant using Prince Keleseth feels like any other minion-heavy curve deck and utilizes a bunch of generic taunts to protect itself before the big swing turns.
Then there is the Spell/Recruit hybrid Hunter. A fully charged Lesser Emerald Spellstone can provide strong mid game plays and the secrets offer some additional defense against early aggression. Ultimately, both variants have their merits and disadvantages and there is no clear winner.

Both Seeping Oozeling and Silver Vanguard (especially the latter) are terrible without Play Dead as an immediate follow-up. In that case you would be better off by just playing e.g. Savannah Highmane. Also, I think Carnivorous Cube in general should be avoided here (too slow, this isn't Devilsaur Druid) and without it you might drop Play Dead as well.
Regarding consistency issues, since the release of Stitched Tracker those aren't much of a trouble anymore. Sometimes I see lists running Tracking on top but it feels awkward when both Kathrena Winterwisp and a big beast are offered in the process.
In the end it comes down to personal preference. As for me I don't like the design and play-style of lists involving Keleseth, same when Tempo Keleseth Rogue was still around. Granted, you're not as vulnerable to highly aggressive decks but tend to crumble a little later. Regardless of the version you choose it's at least more fun than Spell Hunter.
Somehow recruit hunters always pull the ooze on curve with play dead so it doesn't really matter which version you go i guess since that seems to be the guaranteed outcome anyway.
Funny is that before witchwood I had this recruit hunter but the amount of times i pulled my beasts before i could actually get value from the deathrattles was insane and i just dropped it. Now im surprised it gets so high in wr. Cant test it now as i dusted the whole thing. But sure as hell seems blizzard tweaked the draws. I mean there were games in which i drew all my big beasts by turn 4. How is that a viable deck? Thus i dust it. This feels so odd
Check HSreplay for the winrates. Keleseth Oozeling version is the most consistent overall. It aims to just consistently reccruit big beasts starting as soon as turn 7.
The cube version with Spellstone is more greedy and wins harder when it draws well, but absolutely sucks with poor draw. Cube + Play Dead is a ridiculous combo, but you usually need something to stick on the board first.
using Oozeling and Silver Vanguard you aren't so reliant on drawing Kathrena by turn 8.
According to Hsreplay it's supposedly a tier 1 deck even...but HSreplay isn't the most reliable when it comes to tierlists.
I've had some experience playing with both versions of the deck and overall it seems like keleseth is the better version as it has a more consistent early game. Although spellstone and secrets are nice you have a hard time coming back against faster decks even with spellstone on turn 5 because you struggle to kill minions early on (it pretty much comes down to drawing bow and wandering monster or you just die).
Just loost my morning match with my taunt warrior. He pulled ozzeling on T6 and T7 droping devilsaurus and king .. I build a trap hunter version and liked it but gave up due to too much 6+ mana cards resulting in bad draws. Maybe i should give it another try ...
Agree you need wandering monster against fast decks and its the best card you can have in starting hand...
I run a deathrattle version with Terrorscale Stalker and a decent early game with Devilsaur Egg, Dire Frenzy as well as the Seeping Oozeling. It has had pretty good success. I think one Dire Frenzy is incredibly useful in this deck if you have bad draws for some extra recruitment.
I am currently testing this version. Significant diffrent. Lets see. Sometimes its a bit slow but intresting. A bit extra life would be good. There are options like only one dire frenzy, but using two in this version is intended. I always want one to be ready for using it on Arfus. Chain gangs will fit into the deck but be aware about the decks mechanik of pulling off stitched trackers with a low creature selection in the deck!

Ultimately, I believe it will be the minion heavy one, not spellstone. I've tried both, initially thinking the spellstone version made most sense. but it felt clumsy. I mean the whole deck is clumsy, but the version mixing trap combos with minion combos is double clumsy.
This version is brutal. I've seen streams using this to single digit legend, and sometimes they even don't include Charged Devilsaur, in order to include earlier drops like Plated Beetle

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

Cube is stronger for an instant burst. Keleseth is a risk unless it is in your hand or you draw it with Witchwood Piper.

I hate the minion heavy version with Keleseth, because it's really easy to completely die against Aggro.
