This Hunter deck uses Witchwood Piper to track down Vicious Scalehides in order to land Dire Frenzy on them. This gives your deck a ton of life gain going late where you eventually try to win with Deathstalker Rexxar. The early game is spent setting up defensive secrets in order to take control of the board with Lesser Emerald Spellstone. Houndmaster Shaw is a monster and the deck makes sure it has something to rush on turn-5. Our weapon tech Harrison Jones and even Corrosive Sludge get much better when they can rush into battle. The term tempo Big Game Hunter hasn't been used that often lately but at least with rush he gets more beasts in his sight. Countess Ashmore becomes a huge life gain card late game because you are likely to pull a couple 4/6 rush lifesteals along with Rotten Applebaum.
Remove corosive sludge and one venom trap. Add two stiched trackers Woot here we go :-). (Maybe use misdirection or freezing trap instead the one venom trap.
hello, i played ashmore hunter like this before, it was very good. Your deck is also good. look at mine lifesteal hunter, in my decks and tell me what u think, please :) thanx
Being stuck reaching rank 5 for a couple of days now playing Fatigue and Quest Warrior (grinding that golden hero), but today I went 21-6 with this deck to finally get there :)
*Hates Quest Rogue*
I did however slip in Kill Commands, initially as removal but the burst is fine as well. I theory I couldn't figure out how to beat Cubelock consistently (post DK), but atm my winrate against them is 100% lol.
It wasn't too hard to convert this into an Even Hunter deck with Genn; you still get the scalehides, frenzies, and witchwood pipers; you lose the spellstone (probably the biggest loss), but keep a large amount of the healing, and a one-mana hero power puts pressure on right from the start.
Kinda inspired part by this deck and part by snexxar :)
Nice list, I'm going to try it with the following changes:
-2x tracking, +2x stitched tracker (this way I don't discard anything and I increase my chances of finding a minion ie. scalehide)
-1x corrosive sludge, +1x eaglehorn bow (also, I'll have to test harrison vs gluttonous ooze)
-1x big game hunter, +1x candleshot (not sure about this, I'll have to test if bgh is truly worth it. Maybe hunter's mark instead?)
I don't have a lot of time to play atm, but I'll let you know how it goes if you're interested :)
Yeah tracking has been kind of a miss for me. Ill have to try out stitched tracker.
Corrosive sludge definitely needs to come out, I replaced with mind control tech.
Even though big game hunter is sometimes useless, he is needed in the other match ups that get big dudes out.
Houndmaster Shaw seems out of place though im not sure what to replace it with.
Actually, after trying the changes I originally sugested, I ended up going back to tracking instead of stitched trackers. You don't really need the extra scalehides, and in some matchups you really really want to find rexxar or spellstone, which only tracking can do (there are also some cards that are convenient to discard in order to thin your deck).
The -1x corrosive sludge, +1x eaglehorn bow has been great, and I prefer gluttonous ooze over harrison so far (better stats for the mana, better against aggro, cheaper)
I also decided to run double candleshot and double hunter's mark, and let go shaw and rotten applebaums (both sat in my hand forever most games and weren't impactful enough when played).
So I played this deck a ton, tweaked it a bit, got some good results, but then I had trouble with decks that could answer the spell stone and came up with an interesting solution. It isn't the same deck anymore, but it has even better results. It started with the change of adding a recruit element to turn 5, namely Guild Recruiter (since I wasn't running many small minions). Then I added a big beast package, and now it is Recruit Hunter:
I am toying with crafting King Mukla to replace the marsh drake, but maybe someone who has it can play test him in that slot for me.

Nice deck, I will definitely give it a try :)
One question: I don't have Houndmaster Shaw and I was not planning to craft it, do you think that it's strictly necessary? how about replacing him with Kathrena Winterwisp for summoning in late game a Dire Frenzyed Vicious Scalehide? She could also synegize with Countess Ashmore. What do you think?
Looks like a really smart deck. interesting.

If your goal is to survive until the late-game isn't Gluttonous Ooze beter then the Corrosive Sludge? Less Rush power but even more survivability.
Nice deck :)

great deck i would do slight tweaks.

Very nice deck as always. I will def. make a wild version of this deck.
Greatly inspired I made my own wild version of this deck:
This deck looks interesting. Kinda loke...control hunter? Maybe? Worth a shot I reckon.
This has been one of my favourite decks of the new expansion.
My version has the big beasts with much fewer secrets.
The dream is...
Turn 6: Vicious Scalehide + Dire Frenzy
Turn 7: Countess Ashmore
Turn 8: Kathrena Winterwisp
Good chance for a charge beast and loads of heal in the hand. It is so much fun.
I have been outlasting control Warlock with this deck.
I added Emeriss and Prince Taldaram (turned out I had no 3 drops, so tried it out and worked out pretty good). Emeriis is a lot of fun:
