Still experimenting with the deck, so don't complain when you get schooled by even paladin or odd rogue. This deck is NOT meant for climbing ladder, but I've been having a ton of fun playing it and it seems to be doing decent, so far the win rate is at 55% but I've only done 15 games with it.
This deck survived 5 obsidian statues, 2 amaras, 2 deathwings, 2 top-decked discover-from-ambers, and a voodoo doll, pushing poor Priest into fatigue. Here is the deck list if you want to try it:
I don't have Houndmaster Shaw so don't know how it would work with the deck. I definitely recommend Countess Ashmore, however. She's like a better version of Tol'vir Warden, she'll pull out 2 Vicious Scalehides (hopefully ones you planted earlier via Dire Frenzy) and Rotten Applebaum. This in turn synergizes well with Emeriss you play 3 turns later to get 8/12 Scalehide and 8/10 Applebaum.
I've been enjoying playing Emeriss since the expansion, even though Rexxar isn't my favourite hero. I've been playing with a version with doomsayers and wyrmguards. Sadly I don't have the hero card to go along; it would fit this deck like a glove.
Scalehides with dire frenzy seems interesting. My version runs a lot of non beasts though. Countess is really good, any draw is very welcome and as neutral can be played in any class. Shaw is good, but not crucial. While he is on board it's easy mode.
Any hey, good job showing those pesky priests they need to do more than just heal =).
@Solandris I don't really play wild, but also confused about the synergy with N'Zoth. There don't seem to be many deathrattle minions in your deck aside from Highmanes. Is it for Zombeasts? Have you tried adding Violet Wurm or Deranged Doctor in? It seems like they would work well with Kathrena/NZoth and the doctor could even provide extra heal.
@jkosso82 I usually don't craft class-specific expansion legendaries but DK Rexxar was an exception. I definitely would recommend crafting it if hunter is your main. I would go as far as to say Control Hunter is not possible without that card (although it sounds like your way of dealing with that is keeping the agro going via Shaw). It solves the card draw problem, it solves the "bad hero power for control" problem, and even makes Emeriss more relevant as it gives him something to buff.
As far as Scalehides, they're the bread and butter of my deck. I experimented with other combos like Toxmonger + 1-drops but don't like them since they leave my hero vulnerable to spells or occasional face damage. One thing most control decks have in common is ability to heal or gain armor and before dire-frenzy scalehides this just wasn't possible. I do wish there were more life-leech beasts to put in this deck as I find my ability to win solely dependent on being able to get Rexxar or Scalehides + Dire Frenzy early. It's so dependent on it, in fact, that I often mulligan for those instead of a good starting hand.
Agree, I carry Wing Blast in my version as well. Together with Flanking Strike they often provide enough stall mid-game until my larger minions and zombeasts come out. Sometimes my play is sacrificing a Stonetusk Boar just to play a Wing Blast, although I have been experimenting with replacing my boars. Ideally Blizzard adds another lifeleech + rush beast that can hit for at least 3 damage next expansion, right now Scalehide basically carries the deck until zombeasts and drawing him is not consistent enough

Interesting deck, looks fun to play!
I was trying to build a similar version, and here is the result:
Keep it up :)
