I do this in wild with Lock and Load, Emperor Thaurissan instead of Lone Champion, and only one copy of each secret (to make the most of Lock and Load). It's a lot of fun, even when it doesn't quite work.
I'll take that as a compliment. As far as wild, you've certainly got more options, (hobbs' hat cho hunter comes to mind,) but I prefer the more controlled environment of standard. I reccomend trying a variation once in a while if you feel the grind getting to you.
