Spell Hunter, which is sure to be a terrible but fun meme deck, is going to be running into a lot of Psychic Screams, a ridiculously powerful card right out of the gate.
Am I the only one pissed off that a weak archtype is getting weakened further as collateral damage to what is sure to become one of the most powerful cards in the most power/most played class?
It's just insult to injury. Priests are going to be everywhere. Makes me not even want to play it for fun.
Yes. You have a reason to be salty. I like the new direction they are taking Hunter, but they should have given them more tools right out of the gate. Including not getting toasted by Psychic Scream off the bat. :/
Can someone explain why Spell Hunter should be a thing? Right now it´s just a Meme Archetyp. I mean it´s not like To My Side! and the Hunter Weapon justify to play Hunter without any Minions.

I think they should have given spell Hunter less cards. This kind of archetype will take so many support cards before it is playable. They should have given Hunter a few cards here and there to slowly build up the archetype. Especially considering Hunter is in the worst spot out of every other class right now this was a terrible time to use most of the new card slots to try and push a new archetype. And if Spell Hunter was good it would see play even if Psychic Scream was in the meta. We see this time and time again with good cards and decks still being good even though there are counters to them seeing play at the same time.
Only heavy control can take this bullshit and still in the game.
I think Spell Hunter is technically a control deck and it might have had an acceptable (although still poor) win rate otherwise. Psychic Scream probably drops the win rate by 10% by itself as just a 1 of.
Almost forget that the 5 drop summon wolves, their best new spell, is countered by Duskbreaker. Why even bother...
Psychic Scream will probably be a really good card, but will not be the core issue for spell hunter... The lack of minions will :) Psychic Scream deactivating the weapon and To My Side! at turn 7 should be the least of worries.
Anyways if we talk Hunter and aggro decks in general, i don't think Psychic Scream will come close to Duskbreaker in strength for priest. Duskbreaker is so strong that we might see dragonspackages be standard in razapriest to deal with aggro. Something that "silences" and clears the board at turn 7 is strong, but will often be too late vs aggressive decks.
Spells in hunter such as Attack of the pack, Kill command, and Tracking allow hunter to close out games but require heavy minion pressure to get into that position. A no minion deck is doomed to fail because of the class design: fast hard win or concede. The design team need to either support it as is or rework it entirely.

Chaos is a latter.... but the Hearthstone latter IS chaos.

This makes sense, although the turn 7 weapon could have been one of their win conditions along with Deathstalker Rexxar. Now I wonder if the two 'no minion' cards will even be worth in Spell Hunter, the archtype they're designed for!!!
Both the Hunter legendary and priest clear are 7 mana cards, if you happen to draw and play the weapon first, then adding minions to your deck ceases to be much of an issue.

That's true, if you go first and draw it you can always get it to go off.
Me feeling is, besides To My Side and the weapon, if a bunch of minions gets thrown back in the deck, those cards become unimportant. Now you've got a hunter deck again, boosted by a bunch of spells that were already used to create the creatures, so it's thinned out your deck of needless cards. Honestly, it gives you their priest cards too. So, I don't think it's that bad of a trade off. It'll probably be fairly easy to reestablish board control. It just won't have the quick ramp up of power that a normal hunter deck is used to.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a Hemet style (spell) card for Hunter in the future - Destroy all minions in your deck.
Well, Spell Hunter has 7 turns to slay Priest but one of those minions might be a Prophet Velen or Obsidian Taunt, so who I wouldn't give it up.
Yep, and all other decks too.
It is a giant middle finger for midrange decks.

So you are complaining that a meme deck does have problems in winning against Tier 1 decks?
You meet a priest with spell hunter? Concede and go for the next game. There will not be 100% priests on ladder.
Edit: And honestly, Razakus or Control Priest would not need psychic scream to win against a full spell hunter. They just outheropower you

Hunter spells ruin spell hunter

No it doesn't, it screws up one card in spell hunter.

This isn't too much of a problem.
