As you all know there has been community uproar about To My Side! however some people are defending this card, and just seeing those complains about as salty and unappreciative.
1. To My Side! Looks like it was never play tested. It probably wouldn't even fit in the deck it's designed because you'd rather just play call of the wild and add yogg for memes. Even if the deck were to be played the card is awful value wise and you'd likely lose tempo. It very well may be the worst card ever printed for hunter which is saying a lot.
2. The Hearthstone Developers don't care about hunter giving playable cards for any form of play style. The majority of Midrange hunter is from the basic set. Only Fiery Bat is consistently played from old gods, and infested wolf sometimes will see play. Since Call of the wild got nerfed it hasn't seen much play and the old yogg'n load deck is also dead in wild. Karazhan is probably the best expansion for Hunter that is currently in standard and the best since GvG as it has kindly grandmother along with cat trick and huntress. Sadly this is adventure and so Hunter only got 3 cards. Next we went to Gadgetzan were we got rat pack the only good epic not to be nerfed in hunter and alleycat a decent card but not as good as enchanted raven for druid. The other cards were handcuff which fell flat on its face and even Don'Hancho didn't see play in Warrior or Pally. In Ungoro hunter got shafted only crackling razor maw and jeweled macaw were good enough to see consistent play. Ungoros legendary were also unplayable along with the Epics. In Frozen throne we got bear shark which only fits in because other cards are too weak too see play. They also got some kind of card gain with stitched tracker. Hunters first good legendary was given in Deathstalker Rexxar, but with two bad epics and exploding bloat bat not much support was given towards a good control warrior. To My Side! and Crushing walls are bad but we may see the first good legendary minion for Hunter in hearthstone history in whisperwind. TO compare to other classes Hunter gets one to two good cards per expansion while priest warlock get insane amounts of good cards.
3. It is quite possible To My Side is a preview of cards to come which is a shame because there is not enough early summoning a minion cards too make the deck work. Also there is no board wipes or card draw so the no minion card would basically have to be a win condition.
I mean people were pretty pissed about Purify at first but then it was run in a semi-viable deck. This could end up being the same so that's essentially why I'm not angry about it. Annoyed!? Maybe but then again quite a few cards annoy me so I'm learning to chill in general ;)

The card is bad, but only because of the hunter package. There's already a spell heavy hunter in wild that could easily slot this in. The issue is that highmane is better even in that hunter deck. From a design aspect, I actually kind of like the card. 5 mana would have been the sweetspot in my book, but overall, it's just a throwaway card that really isn't all that bad.
As a Yogg'n'loader myself, I believe Hunter only gets 1 of 2 kinds of cards: good ones, cheap and tempo-friendly, and bad ones, which are pretty much anything that fails to give you early pressure.
Other classes simply have multiple ways to play. A silence for Priest is a tool for a win-condition. A heal for shaman means they can make use of control cards. A whirlwind-effect for warrior means they can get an enrage deck together. Notice how these aren't the only archetypes of any of these classes.
Any card on hunter that isn't about midrangey tempo or burst doesn't find another place, because the other place doesn't exist. What can Blizzard do besides throwing weak cards that don't make the cut? A new archetype has been needed for the class since forever.

Dude, calm your goddamned tits down a little! It's not the first time that a company delving with Cards has made bad cards of high rarity. Its not even the first time in hearthstone! Remember Warlock in Un'goro? Yeah, neither did anyone else, because they got two nearly useless legendary. People were upset, because their favorite class - mine included - was virtually unplayable in Un'goro's meta, but did that stop me from enjoying it? Not entirely, no.
It really ends up as simple as that, if it isn't a good card, then just don't play with it. Or, if you're like me, try to build something around it for fun. Something to play with in Casual, maybe? Super-many secrets with few minions - because you CAN have minions, just not left in your deck for maximum potential. Its like with Kazakus - could be quite fun, I think.
Is it a bad card? Oh, it certainly isn't a good one, and it is good that you're voicing your concerns about things that worry you - but I also want you to remember that people thought that the Warlock quest was gonna be OP, and the Quest for Rogue was gonna be the worst thing ever, and look how much that turned on its head! Perhaps this card will find a home in some new type of deck, perhaps it will just be sitting in all of our collections and gather dust forever. Only time will end up telling.
This board is filled to the brim with trolls. See "Psychic Scream" card reveal thread, can you spot them all?
If the original Undertaker was revealed once again in Priest, plenty of people would call it fine. Those same people will rate To My Side as meta-breaking. 'tis the internet. Welcome
Not everyone that has a different opinion than you is a troll. As Banks1 already said, some people are genuinely serious when defending this card and we should respect that. Stop calling anyone you don't like a f...king troll dude, you have a tendency to do it and is very annoying.
That's when Aggro basic set cards were really good, but as a priest player I agree with you but purify did make silence priest viable, even as a bad card.

I'm the first person to say hunter is mistreated and it sucks to not get cards that just WORK for the class and watch every other class get stronger while we stay in the trenches. I want Glaivezooka reprinted. I want SMOrc to come back so I don't have to think when I ladder because ladder is a stupid way to rate people in a card game. I agree with you the devs don't do us justice.
What you're definitely wrong about is this: they did test To My Side!. Probably a lot. This card is built from a preexisting card Animal Companion which is possibly the strongest single card in the class for years. Huffer is STILL too good at 3 mana today. So they took this card and wanted to double it and make it even potentially more powerful by giving you a possibility of 2 Huffers which equals 8 damage for 6 mana in hunter. That's very very strong possibly too strong. So to correct for that they came up with what they thought would be a sever enough restriction that only a committed builder would want to play this potentially busted card.
Was the restriction too severe? Maybe. Depends on how many people end up designing around it and running it. Hunter is a class without it's own abilities. It just gets the leftover keywords and half-way trash the other classes don't get. This is the first time we've gotten a card that makes us go "oh huh, how the hell am I supposed to make that work?" This should be your reaction. Not, "terrible, unplayable forget it, forget everything hunter rip again LOL BYE". I mean you might be right. I would say the majority of hunter players feel this way and you all might be right. At least try it out though. Wait until a few weeks have gone by and you get 60-200 ranked games with this new deck before you grab the pitchfork.
Look I think it's obvious that Team 5 is terrified of hunter being tier 1 again. This class was the boogeyman for the first 2 years of the game if not longer. The fun killing class. That isn't something you put on a resume and expect to get more work. We're the bad guys here as far as the rest of the community is concerned. So don't expect to be a hunter player and be on top. Enjoy being the jerk who still plays hunter in 2018.
I don't think the card itself is bad, rather the deck that it fits into is bad...currently.
All it takes is for Blizzard to release more cards to support the spell-only archetype and suddenly we could see to my side being played a lot.
For now, this card is just sort of there. It at least makes a good example of how the community can respond way too passionately about a single card. It's like gnomeferatu all over again.
The majority of Midrange hunter is from the basic set.
The reason for that being that a lot of hunter's Basic/Classic set is REALLY good. Animal Companion, Savannah Highmane, Kill Command, Houndmaster are all cards that outclass everything at that mana cost, and Eaglehorn Bow and Tundra Rhino are pretty close to that. Hunter has survived for years (especially at lower ranks) on its classic and basic core cards and will continue to do so.
Actually it's because the team working on hearthstone prior to team 5 had intended hunter to be a generally aggro class, so they made its basic set and hero power one that supports that playstyle. But then team 5 took over and since then they tried to make hunter, which had its basic card set tuned for an aggro class - a control class...
So that's why newer cards for hunter usually don't see competitive play, because the newer cards don't mashup with the basic set.
Hunter is traditionally the "beginner" class, since the play style is pretty simple and there are very few expensive cards that are necessary. As such, I'm not upset if the epic and legendary cards for the class are bad, the commons should be better. And either way, it's already in a good spot.
I'm not gonna try to defend To My Side, but not every card needs to be good.
...alleycat a decent card but not as good as enchanted raven for druid.
1) Alleycat is likely a stronger minion that enchanted raven (raven is just in a stronger deck).
2) It is how Blizzard are supporting Hunter archetypes which is the problem, you are focusing too much on specific cards. Yes it sucks that hunter cards seem fairly weak and all over the place the last few expansions. However I would argue that with the new spellstone that secret hunter could become atleast a tier 3 deck, maybe tier 2.
3) We have yet to see the weapon which will probably push deathrattle hunter like crazy and could make it become viable.
Ahem. Let's see. I'll try defend the card and I will try to assure you I'm NOT trolling.
Would a 6-mana summon 2 animal companions (without downside) be viable or at least interesting? I think the answer is YES, because of the new mechanics and direction of hunter.
PROBLEM is, you CANNOT print such a card because of Huffer. Then we will run into the problem Call of the Nerf had. A hunter will roll 2xalways huffer(TM) and nuke you down. The new archetype would NOT even be experimented with and we'd continue with the same old steamroll-em-early-and-kill-em-by-turn-7-or-concede hunter.
So, supposing I was blizzard and wanted to print a cool spell that made minions for recruit decks/few minion decks what could I do? Either NOT print it at all so that cancer face hunter returns, OR put a restriction that prevents other types of hunters playing it and risk it not working.
They chose the 2nd option, I would probably do that too.
Oh and by the way, why does EVERYONE but me in this forum acts like they are rank 1 legend pro players that live off hearthstone? Most of the fun I have playing this game is when I happen to play a non-meta vs non-meta deck. Best game I had yesterday was my quest druid vs silence/purify priest.
The problem that you are unable to have fun by playing silly decks once in a while and suck at life by staying rank 18 with your netdeck jade druid until the end of the month is yours, not hearthstone's or Blizzard's.
